Good morning D! Still raining here in the Berg, but after tomorrow things are looking up. Prayers for all who are hurting

Mr. Ben safe travels to you and Mrs. B

It was a tough weekend for the Cordman, Saturday was a funeral service for a friend of ours and one of my mom's best friends in Princeton Ky.

Yesterday was for my friend and neighbor! It took it's toll on me emotionally, but in the end this was not really a funeral, the was a celebration of life for a great man!!!! I have been to a lot of funerals, but I have never been to one that was such a heart warming event. I am still at a loss for words to describe it! There was not a preacher that spoke, but the children spoke the words that no preacher could have ever spoken about this man!!! Some of his grandchildren from his family had something to say about their grandfather and after they spoke they had a song that they all sung together as a choir, absolutely beautiful!!!! As we made our way thru the line for our final goodbye I told one of his sons I missed my friend already, He told me that he's not gone because I still have 5 pieces of him thru them, his children!

I was told by one of my friends yesterday, she said Cord sometimes we are separated from each other (friends) because of our religion and it shouldn't be that way and she was right! GOD is coming some day and HE is going to take all his children that belong to him!!!

One day Mr. W my neighbor knocked on my door and said Cord I have something for you, so he dug around in his pockets and said, well I don't know what I did with it, I'll be right back. In a few minutes he was back and handed me a beautiful Buck folding pocket knife, I told his son a few days later what he had done and if they wanted it back I would return it, he told me no that his dad gave it to me and it was mime. I found out yesterday that he had given one knife to all his grandchildren and that I was considered one of the family!

So this morning prayers to all, My heart is hurting. Have a great day D-Leaguers!!! GOD IS GREAT!
Beautiful testimony cordmaker. May God bring peace and comfort. It is very difficult to say good bye to a special frieend

  • Good Morning, D-Leagueanites and Lurkers.
  • Cool front came through. 64-66º yesterday and today. Long sleeves.
  • Keurig Dark Magic is good. 2nd mug going. Spoiled to it.
  • This is Game Week at long last. I think gametime is noon
Very good one.
  • Have a good week everybody.
  • Take care.
  • As you were.
Don, you are a wonderful person.

You do not understand what we think of you.

(Of course that is good. It would go straight to your Paducah head.):stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I'm reminded of a quote from a movie I watched several episodes of last night'

"Wouldn't it be nice knowing what is going on in other people's minds?"

"If we knew what was going on in other people's minds, life would be unbearable." Spoken by a seemingly normal guy who at night is a murdering psychopath. It is a great series on Netflix called "The Fall."

Good Tuesday morning D League

Gulf coast weather is fair at 74 with a high of 85 this afternoon. Sun rising at 7:05 and thunder storms at 4:00 pm.

How about the news on the transfer! He may be the highest rated DB we have signed in many years. And we are not finished. He has a team mate that we may get.

So things are rolling and you have to be excited if you love football. And I do. Take care

Good morning! Haven't been up too long and so far all I know is that I'm hungry. Very hungry.

Supposed to have some thunderstorms today. Never heard any thunder yesterday but it rained off and on all day.

See ya later. I'm off to get some food and then it's to the workshop to get loud and dirty.

Sorry if I have already discussed this with you, but part my family is from there, they live on Spann Lane off Husband Rd. Worked for the ICRR. I have lots of great memories there. I lived there in 72 for the summer working on the interstate by the mall.
Missed you by 8 years. I did American Graffiti in Paducah. Nice town to grow up in. One of my family works at an air reduction company on Husband Road.

Good morning D, still raining here off and on, so no deck work.

Yesterday was better and the days will get better, but I will miss our golf cart chats we used to have.

No work out side so I have put a pot of beans on with garlic, onions and bacon mixed in and it smells really good! Also will make a couple of pans of sour cream cornbread to go along with it. I will take some of it to a couple elderly ladies that are mom's best friends.

Prayers to all of us who are hurting in body and spirit!

One thing about having surgeries is your friends and some family members ask hey Cord did your hip, shoulders, neck and eyes feel this way before you had surgery? My doctor and good friend were talking in the office one day and I was telling him that my friend said that I probably had, before I could say anything else he said , Cord your best friends are my worst enemy, are you going to listen to them or me?
Ya'll have a good one! Y be careful around those power tools, stay focused! Nearly lost a thumb one time because I just got to lax thinking aw I can shape this little piece of wood, next thing I knew the shaper grabbed the piece of wood and I had a bleeding thumb with just a small cut across it!

Yea I liked Paducah, had a great time. My uncle and I fished every weekend except one a month while I did my NG duty. Caught lots of catfish and crappie during the time I lived there! We may be outlaws and not even know it![cheers] Root beer!

Mr. Chief how far a walk is it from where you park to the top?
It's not bad. Coupla hunnerd yards from parking lot to Pinnacle overlook on a paved and not steep walkway.
I've hiked from Shawanee (Bristol Rd near Virginia-Tennessee state line) to the Pinnacle and then down to KFC in Middlesboro about 8 years ago during the summer. Wonderful hike.
