The SEC's little brother has grown up and it's no longer a forgone conclusion who's going to win the fight.
Stoops has put a fire in this program. Players are being held accountable unlike the previous staff that was haphazard at best.
Looking forward to this season as much as any ever. I used to laugh at myself for thinking that the football team would "be better this year". We won't count how many times but I'm doing it again! I think that I have a more deep rooted belief this time though.
Maybe two seasons in a row equal to last year and maybe I'll buy back in. Been burned way too many times.

I think the difference now is the financial investment being made by the university. Our facilities are some of the best in college and we pay our coaches good salaries. Recruiting has picked up. All good signs for success
Yep, I've seen enough to know that this is not what it used to be. We have one of the best defenses in the SEC which means we have one of the best defenses.
We have size and speed across the team that we would only see in a few individuals in the past.
That extra SEC Channel money has been put to good use.

Had a great birthday today. my two boys were over for dinner and last night had dinner out with friends. 64 got here fast!
Appointment in the morning with a dietitian so she can school me on better choices so I can lose some pounds..
Started to go back to the fair today but lower back pain changed my mind, doc doesn't seem to think its serious and just muscle related. Steroids for few days and because I've had two back surgeries before an MRI is going to happen sometime this week.

Good morning D League. Back to reality after a pretty terrific weekend. My wife and I spent a night at the Willard Hotel as an anniversary getaway. And we did stuff in Washington we rarely do, even though we live a short drive away -- like a midnight walk down the tidal basin between the Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials, a leisurely tour of several of the Smithsonian Museums we hadn't seen in a while, and a couple really nice dinners at favorite hotels.
Grind ahead at work, but UK football this weekend. And my son starts back at Lexington so we're excited about that.
I hope everyone had a good weekend, and can ease into the week.

It was a tough weekend for the Cordman, Saturday was a funeral service for a friend of ours and one of my mom's best friends in Princeton Ky.
Yesterday was for my friend and neighbor! It took it's toll on me emotionally, but in the end this was not really a funeral, the was a celebration of life for a great man!!!! I have been to a lot of funerals, but I have never been to one that was such a heart warming event. I am still at a loss for words to describe it! There was not a preacher that spoke, but the children spoke the words that no preacher could have ever spoken about this man!!! Some of his grandchildren from his family had something to say about their grandfather and after they spoke they had a song that they all sung together as a choir, absolutely beautiful!!!! As we made our way thru the line for our final goodbye I told one of his sons I missed my friend already, He told me that he's not gone because I still have 5 pieces of him thru them, his children!
I was told by one of my friends yesterday, she said Cord sometimes we are separated from each other (friends) because of our religion and it shouldn't be that way and she was right! GOD is coming some day and HE is going to take all his children that belong to him!!!
One day Mr. W my neighbor knocked on my door and said Cord I have something for you, so he dug around in his pockets and said, well I don't know what I did with it, I'll be right back. In a few minutes he was back and handed me a beautiful Buck folding pocket knife, I told his son a few days later what he had done and if they wanted it back I would return it, he told me no that his dad gave it to me and it was mime. I found out yesterday that he had given one knife to all his grandchildren and that I was considered one of the family!
So this morning prayers to all, My heart is hurting!
