Morning y'all. Last week when we took a short trip to Clarksville there was a wreck about 2 miles in front of us. Bad one. 19 injured. Semi. Several cars. Traffic was moving along about 70- 80 mph. Laundry calls. FCC.
Starbucks is about half stupid.Listen to the radio as I read these threads and our local County Commissioner is talking about Starbucks. He was livid about what happened in Arizona when the 5 police officers got tossed. He cited many other examples of their behavior over the years. He said he would never set a foot in one nor would any of the deputy sheriffs or commissioners. There is a new Starbucks, first in our county, being built just down the road and I guarantee you they are in a heap of trouble before the doors open. This is a very conservative area and nobody is going to pay New York City prices for a cup of coffee to start with. Plus we have the highest ratio of veterans per population than any county in Florida and many, many retired police officers. These folks will never go to a Starbucks.
Bad move Starbucks. You may make it in Seattle and California and New York but this is a whole different ball game. Plus we have a Popeye's chicken next door to where Starbucks is being built. And there is a Golden Corral across the road. Fried chicken vs. Starbucks? That ain't no contest.
I've only been in a Starbucks once that I can remember and that was for a meeting. I don't see a reason to go into one again.Listen to the radio as I read these threads and our local County Commissioner is talking about Starbucks. Same here. Over priced, low quality coffee.I've only been in a Starbucks once that I can remember and that was for a meeting. I don't see a reason to go into one again.
About 6 weeks!
Thank you. Take a day for yourself at this time, but come Monday I expect to see a bunch of links for UK news!
That hurts if you live hundreds of miles away. Wow.I received an e-mail this afternoon regarding basketball season ticket renewals. Looks like my two seats will cost $4,800 this year. The marquee featured game is UL. Every thing else out of conference is ordinary. UT, Florida and Auburn are the featured SEC match ups. Deadline is in August.
I have family in Kentucky and they use them. I may see a game or two every couple a years. I hate climbing down to the floor area and back up and would rather watch on a 60" TV. Daddy bought these in 1960 and we have kept them all of these years. We started out on the very last row of the Crows Nest (daddy's word for the balcony) in Memorial and now are 12 rows from the floor in Rupp. Never asked one time to move seats, longevity moved us. Tickets were about $3.00 back then. Students free. That hurts if you live hundreds of miles away. Wow.
Absolutely, count me in. Pick a date and I'll rearrange my busy jet-setting schedule.
82, are you going to make it? I'm available any day but Wednesday morning.
Dad's service was great this morning. The funeral home did an awesome job just like they did with Mom. The local fire department gave him an escort to the cemetery with an ambulance and a fire truck and six of our finest served as his pall bearers. He had been on the board of directors of the fire dept. for 31 years ending in 2011. The chief presented me with a folded flag from the VA. When taps started playing my wife about lost it. Me too.

I don't blame you.I have family in Kentucky and they use them. I may see a game or two every couple a years. I hate climbing down to the floor area and back up and would rather watch on a 60" TV. I can't give them up now after soon to be 60 years in the family.

Glad the service for your Dad went well. Those are tough to get through but somewhat healing at the same time. What a good man he must have been. I know you're proud of him.

What a beautiful service that was ymmot and you had to be pleased in your spirit for the outpouring of love and respect. Our prayers continue for peace and comfort. Knowing our Lord received him into Heaven with the words, "well done my good and faithful servant" will help with the pain and loneliness that comes with the loss of our family.

It is good to see you back safely. That trip would be described as binge driving.Good morning from ATX. I just drove ~900 miles in 15 hours and ~1050 miles in 21 hours. Wow. Helps when you travel in a good car (2019 Nissan Sentra) for such journeys.
Wonderful visit with Bert and Sherry on Sunday. Had a great time. Best Cole slaw on Planet Earth.
We'll check back later.
Good luck. It sounds like a good plan.I've got quite a day ahead of me. Have to get everything off the porch, take up the base boards around the perimeter, pressure wash the entire patio, mow the grass, weed eat. All that is in preparation for tomorrow when we're supposed to put the last coat of sealant on the roof, lay the carpet, and hang the screen. Whew!
That's a '50 probably.Here is an easy one. 49' or 50'
It is sunny and 74.8°F in little Smiths Grove.
Yesterday I got the yard mowed and edged. Had company for an hour, talked to Ymmot on the phone, drank some 1792 Whiskey, cooked tenderloin and apples, took a nap and then watched TV. That ain't a bad Sunday.
I have to go to Bowling Green today to get some medicine, but other than that I plan on being lazy.
The guys that still send me three checks a month. What a wonderful railroad!
