These men are the reason you and I are free. Without them we would never have built this great country. We may and would have eventually broke away from the British but our nation would not have had the influence of many of our Founding Fathers as many were aging at the time of the Revolution.

Bert are you a member of the Sons of The American Revolution? It is a fine organization and we need good people in it. I was a charter member of a camp in Cumming, Georgia and transferred my membership to Florida when I came back home. Great people.
I am not a member but I did consider it. Then I got elected to public office and did not have the time.

To Sarah. I did not know you, but I mourn your passing. God Bless you and your family.

She’s gone to fly with the angels.

I'm so sorry, 93.

Truly heartbreaking. So very sorry.

I'm so sorry 93. I wish I had the words to help you through this awful time in your life.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm at a down time right now and this hit me pretty hard. I was so hoping she was going to pull through. Peace to you brother.

No more words.:cry::pray:

He died for Sarah and all of us.

I am so truly sorry. Words cannot express how bad I feel for you and your family.

I confess I shed a few tears. It feels personal somehow.

I did too, sitting at work today I had to leave early.

Well, no time will be a good time to drop this so...my father passed this morning around 1100. He had been in the hospital for a couple of days with an infection.

As far as deaths go, this was one of those that was predetermined and expected. He had pretty much made the decision to stop dialysis and end his pain. He had missed two treatments prior to his admission.

I found out from his dialysis doctor that he had discussed ending the treatments with him as well.

He was a hell of a fighter and climbed a steeper hill than many could muster.

I'm going to miss our adventures and going to the piddler malls with him.
Bad Day Ymmot. You did your part buddy. You will be rewarded.

I will talk to you about your loss. Bless your family, but mostly you. You were there good son.

Truly, though...losing Sarah is the most devastating. She never had the chance to live her life. I can’t imagine what 93 is going through. There are no words to express the sorrow we feel and no words that can possibly comfort her family right now.
My heart hurts for all
Love and prayers

93 is hurting. It has to be horrible, painful and breath taking.

I lost my grand son when he was 9 on June 29, 2015. That is the worst day of my life. I am not normal yet. I think of him all the time.

Prayers for 93 and his whole family. They really need it.

Wife brought me some coffee. It sure is good.

Her office cohorts sent us a couple of boxes of assorted fruits and cheeses to take to the funeral home. I told her since they sent two that they obviously meant for us to keep one here at the house.

Speaking of funeral home, we'll be heading over there at noon for the viewing. Probably going to see some people I haven't seen for awhile and they will all know my name and I won't know a soul. I hate that and it even happens with people I graduated high school with.

Remember and recognize are two different things altogether.
That seems to be the story of my life.

Ymmot, I was up in your area having the time of my life and did not know that Tommy died. I knew he was in trouble.

I really regret that I did not login and keep up.

The best to you, your wife and your family as you cope with losing Tommy. God rest his soul.

Call me when you can.

Ymmot was such a great care giver to his dad and though I have never met him I have the deepest respect a person can have for another person. He put a sick father first and gave back to his dad as few people would do in this world today. It is refreshing and encouraging to know some people still care for their family and love them until the final day. God bless him and prosper him is my prayer. He sure got a whole bunch of stars in his crown with his deeds on this earth.

Ymmot is one of the good guys. You would love meeting him. He is bright and engaging.

I have met him many times. Each time is better than the last.

I am sure it would be an honor. He seems like someone you could just sit down and talk to about any subject that comes to mind and have an intelligent discussion. Kinda of people I like to be around.

You and your family have my condolences.:pray::pray:

Thanks. We're all doing pretty good.

I am not a member but I did consider it. Then I got elected to public office and did not have the time.

Bert and Sawnee, I will be receiving documentation soon that relates me directly to the Civil War and the Revolutionary war. I might be interested in joining.

Thanks Bert. I'll give you a call tomorrow afternoon.

I spoke with my sister about it and I'm going to give my father's power chair to a veteran at the nursing home. He was asking about Dad the last time I was there and said they sat together at dinner all the time. Seems like he has a good mind but just can't walk. Found out that I have to get the OK from the physical therapy people but I doubt that will be much of an obstacle.

We never discussed it but I'm pretty sure Dad would have wanted it to go to another vet.

  • Good M.orning, Y'all.
  • 79º in Johns Creek. VFR. Clear skies mostly. We need rain badly.
  • Sad times, 3 funerals going. Praying for all of them for peace.
  • Have to get this BGE going soon. Cooking some of those meaty back ribs is the plan. Simple.
  • #5 has Bite Correction Surgery on the 10th. Dread it for him.
  • Be safe today. Watch your driving.
  • Those police made a Starbuck's customer uncomfortable. That's bullshit.
  • As you were.
  • Carry on.

If I could just get you or @ymmot31 to give me a BGE I'd be alright with that..

I would like to concur that @ymmot31 is good people.....even be doesn't give me a BGE lol.

I don't know how I missed all this yesterday but thanks for the kind words fellas. I'm looking forward to the next time I come down Bert! Sawnee, I hope we can meet someday, I bet we'd have a good time. I need to get together with Ben as well and take him up on his golf offer. Might wait for a little cooler weather though.

I've met Bev, Austin, Bert, and 82 and each of them is as good of a person as you'll ever meet. I feel like all our D people are good ones and I'd like to meet each of you and say hey. I get to talk to Don on the phone from time to time and hopefully we'll be able to get together for the basketball game that we got screwed out of by the weather.

Sleep has been kinda fitful the last few nights. I'm mentally drained.

Good Monday Morning D League

Thunderstorms roaring all night with strength it shook things in the house. A couple of them struck very close and one did split a tree in half. We are 74º currently and a high of 84º is forecast for mid afternoon. Our weather is coming from the North they say and we may get 3" total of rain by the time it passes.

I might make this an indoor things to do day and work on my CD collection. I have thousands to download and then convert to CD's with my favorites. I still enjoy the CD's and vinyls but I am old fashioned .

Prayers continue for those who are grieving and hurting this morning. Have a blessed day all. .

Listening to the radio as I read these threads and our local County Commissioner is talking about Starbucks. He was livid about what happened in Arizona when the 5 police officers got tossed. He cited many other examples of their behavior over the years. He said he would never set a foot in one nor would any of the deputy sheriffs or commissioners. There is a new Starbucks, first in our county, being built just down the road and I guarantee you they are in a heap of trouble before the doors open. This is a very conservative area and nobody is going to pay New York City prices for a cup of coffee to start with. Plus we have the highest ratio of veterans per population than any county in Florida and many, many retired police officers. These folks will never go to a Starbucks.

Bad move Starbucks. You may make it in Seattle and California and New York but this is a whole different ball game. Plus we have a Popeye's chicken next door to where Starbucks is being built. And there is a Golden Corral across the road. Fried chicken vs. Starbucks? That ain't no contest.

Hey D
Monday....after a 4 days off, low motivation.
When back home yesterday to visit Mom & Dad, picked up daughter & grand daughter. Had a good visit, except Dad might be missing a few of his ducks....
He sits on the porch swing and will holler for them, then feed 'em. He wanted the grand daughter to see them but we could only find 2 and they wouldn't come up out of the pond. Probably coyotes got the others.... Hopefully not.

Starbucks is about half stupid.

I've only been in a Starbucks once that I can remember and that was for a meeting. I don't see a reason to go into one again.

About 6 weeks!

:cool2:

82, are you going to make it? I'm available any day but Wednesday morning.

Dad's service was great this morning. The funeral home did an awesome job just like they did with Mom. The local fire department gave him an escort to the cemetery with an ambulance and a fire truck and six of our finest served as his pall bearers. He had been on the board of directors of the fire dept. for 31 years ending in 2011. The chief presented me with a folded flag from the VA. When taps started playing my wife about lost it. Me too.

Chapter VI

To be determined...
