Sweet work...

Thanks!

182.5. I was in college the last time I weighed 182.5. You have become an inspiration for me and now I am ready to take the plunge. I am 6'2" and weight 235 and that is waaaay too much. I should get back to my army weight. I am ready to start.

Good for you! I think that makes 30 lbs for me. It hasn't been hard for me at all and I've done no exercise. My wife doesn't like it though because I'm not cooking us things like I used to.

About 2-3 coats of Spar Varnish. And a nice cover. You ought to send some of those photos to BGE. You may get famous over this.

I was going to put spar varnish on it when I first conceived it but I decided that I wanted it to look more rustic. I might put the varnish on it next year, I haven't decided yet. I will be building a screened in patio in the next month or so and won't need a cover.

There are many tables much nicer than mine. I haven't seen one with a built in gas burner though.

Thanks!

That is the road block I may face. My wife has a few things she will not give up under any circumstances and I know if I eat them while trying to drop weight it is not going to work. But I think I can over come that. I am willing to give it a try.

I made some low carb bread a couple of days ago and it is actually pretty good. No stopping me now if smashburgers and sausage egg and cheese sandwichs are diet food.

One more pic today. Here are the speakers I built earlier this year. They are painted black now but for some reason that pic didn't download. They are 5 feet tall and those drivers are 6.5".

Been doing portion control lately and was down to 206 lbs from 215 lbs a couple of weeks ago. Going out to eat last couple of days run me back up to 207 lbs this mornings weight but, back in control today.

Ymmot, I had always exercised but eating what and when ever I wanted, kept me up there. looking to go under (will) 200 lbs by end of month.

Sounds like you've got the resolve and setting a sensible goal is the way to go. Losing weight is simple in concept. Take in fewer calories than you burn. Portion control will work just as well as what I'm doing.

Afternoon everybody.
Fall Festival is over...it was just too hot this year.
Got 2 tickets to the Champions Classic this morning ... 1 problem. In the Duke section...but I got'em.
BGE table looks great ymmot!

Congrats on getting to go to that game!

Thanks. It was much more complicated in reality than it was in concept. I guess most things are.

My daughter is a Registered Dietitian...she always says "You can't outwork your diet". 90/10 she says. 90% diet & 10% exercise.
Probably so, for the most part, I believe if you burn more calories than you take in you will lose pounds. I have even read where specific foods with others foods help as well. My wife was reading about about blood type diets where in order to be your healthiest, you need to eat certain types of food. For instance, chicken for my blood type should be eaten moderately where as beef should be consumed in larger quantities than chicken. I am a big chicken and turkey guy over steak and burgers.

Look here mister, if you're going to protect my country then you need to eat a steak! Medium rare or rare. No sauce!

You're body turns everything into glucose to be used as fuel. I doubt it matters where the source comes from in that respect. Some things turn to glucose almost immediately upon touching your saliva. Carbs give instant energy because they are converted so easily. That ease of conversion also leads people who get most of their calories from carbs, to overeat.

And she is correct! My daughter is a registered Dietician as well. and will tell you the same thing. I'M LIVING PROOF! I ride my bike 5 to 12 miles a day, five days a week, and have not lost one ounce. Because I'm too damned hard headed to change my diet

Hello to all. Kids on Fall Break.

Ymmot, thanks for all the pictures. Gives legs to your recent reports. How much does that egg table weigh? Those casters look a little small.

Hope all is well with all y'alls souls. FCC.

Thanks! I don't know how much the table weighs but I estimate the whole thing to weigh between 5 and 6 hundred pounds with the eggs in there. The casters are 3" and each is rated for 125 pounds. that should be good for 1,000 lbs.

Beautiful! Well done sir.

Thanks bud!

Check out a low carb diet. You get to eat good stuff, just not too much bread or taters.

If you are going to move around much I strongly suggest you put on bigger casters. Good job man on the whole thing. Excellent!!! FCC.

Thanks. Those casters will be fine. I don't intend to move it all but if I did they are heavy duty and each is secured to a 4x4 with 4 21/2" number 10 deck screws.

Excellent job!

I have already developed the marketing materials for selling them. Based on initial test response your production level will need to be between 20-30 a week.

I'm gonna need a bigger boat! And 30 employees.

I can live off of sausage and eggs every day of my life. I can also live without carbs. Over the years my problem has not been what I eat it is how much I eat. I have always been the person who sees a sign on the side of the wall at the steak house that says, " 64 oz prime rib. Eat it all and it is on the house." I ate it all.

I have decided to get serious tomorrow and start towing the line. I would do it today but there is a big pot of chicken and dumplings and collard greens made out of ham hocks sitting on the stove. I have to eat this because my mother use to lecture me on the Chinese starving and I will feel guilty all night long if I don't. A low carb diet will be the way I go. The hardest part may be giving up sweet tea. I am addicted so it will take some real will power. But you folks have me pumped and I want to get under 200 before my time is over.

Here we go Michael is messing with us. Weather alerts all day and now we have an evacuation warning that will take place in the morning. So get ready for the fire trucks with their bull horns going through the neighbor yelling get out while the getting is good. They say it will be a Cat 3. This came from nowhere.

Bad clouds a coming

Don Ymmot is trying to hurt your feelings. :grimace:

I've picked up some evil off of you Bert.

..... and I though he was a he man. GEEZE!

Yeah, me too. Just because he knows Chinese martial arts doesn't mean he has to eat like them as well.

Dude, you need to get away from that one. On the other hand, didn't you say your house was hurricane proof? Or hurricane resistant?

He couldn't do that. It probably took him a week to do one drawer. $200 per drawer considering all the money he spent on tools and parts.

testing PSA (I have prostrate cancer)and thyroid hormones.

Bert, my youngest brother is being treated for prostate cancer. It is serious and thoughts and prayers go out. We will take it to the Lord in prayer and have faith. You are a fighter and you have a host of people who have you in their thoughts

Yes, not worried about the house structure. Water is the biggest concern and I live next to a Wildlife Preserve (swamp) and am very close to the Gulf. It will take a huge storm surge to touch me but my Boy Scout training taught me to Be Prepared. This one came up so fast it caught everyone off guard. My brother lives in the Panhandle area but SO FAR
