Good Morning D

Good morning D-League

Yesterday was an interesting day for college football.

Our game showed we have a solid defense that can stay with anybody but it also showed weakness in offense that must be corrected. Eddie Gran exposed himself on national TV and he needs to do some soul searching. Was Bennie Snell in his doghouse?

If you go back to the second half of last weeks game with South Carolina until the final second of overtime last night you see a total different offense. Bennie Snell has been ignored or shut down for 6 quarters without a touch down. He didn't touch the ball in over time. This is surreal for the best running back in the SEC. So what is going on?

Last year we were 5-1 this time in the season and we are 5-1 this morning.

Oh well, the sun is out and it is the Lord's Day. Let's rejoice and be glad but I can't be happy about last night. Too many things went wrong and questions remain. The list is long.

The Cats score at the 1:10 mark in the first quarter. Then the offense can’t get the ball past midfield the rest of the game. TAM game plan was to stop the run game no matter what, and say “prove to us you can beat us throwing the ball”.

Oh well 5-1. Next.
We can't beat Transylvania throwing the football. I am afraid if something isn't corrected during our off week the season will not go as we want it to go. We were 5-1 last season after 6 games. Fortunately this year the first half of the season had more difficult opponents but we still have some challenges ahead. We have a bye week to get this right

OK, I slept on it and I am still not happy with Wilson as our starting quarterback. He is not a dual threat qb. He isn't even a threat qb. If he can't throw a decent ball because he's worried about an interception or endure contact running the ball because he'll fumble, then he is of no use to this team. That slide in OT 2 yards short of 1st down is indefensible. There were other times he ran where the casual observer would wonder if he even cared if he got where he wanted to go or not.

Can't add much more other than how many times have you seen a field goal come up short from 43 yards?

There was no wind, it was warm, the humidity was high. All 3 should lead to maximizing your distance on a kick. Look what the punts were doing last night. Humid air is less dense than dry air and the ball will fly farther with the same energy imparted to it. What will be his max when it gets cold and dry? 35 yards?

  • Good Morning, D-Leagueanites, Wildcats and Lurkers.
  • 70º this morning in Johns Creek.
  • Terry Wilson ran like he was hurt or something. GH could have been what we needed to jump start our offense. Okay, I said it. I join Ymmot in that.
  • Bennie runs his mouth too much.
  • Our defense played a hellova game. But you have to be clicking on all cylinders to beat a team like A&M. They are pretty solid.
  • Our place-kicking will not win these close games. Weak weak weak.
  • Our fielding punts needs to be fixed too.
  • This week off will be agonizing for us fans, but I think our team needs a week off.
  • Have a nice day. We are celebrating our kids' birthdays.
  • As you were. Carry on.

She said no. Santa didn't respond to my letter.

Offense isn't looking all that well right now.

Blatant holds being missed but sure didn't miss Josh Allen playing legit defense but gets called for a roughing the passer. BS call basically gave A&M 7.

I can understand that. It's too big and bulky to carry any distance and the shipping cost would be enormous.

Oh my Lord, look at those shorts what in the world were we thinking.

It was the Age of Aquarius. You are excused. It is hard to believe that we were young and decent-looking once. Very nice-looking couple. We post these old photos of ourselves and suddenly realize that we have grandchildren older than we were then.

Yes starchief5 my g-grandfather would agree with you. Never left the house without his Sharps carbine. Even took it to church in the event he had to fight the devil.

"Therefore put on the full armor of God so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

"15 And oops, I almost forgot. Take along that Sharps carbine just in case the other stuff is ineffective."

My great grandfather, William Higginbotham was a CSA Cavalry man. 1833-1920. He was always rough and tumble. The picture below is Bill just before he died. Look at that beard.

My kind of people. I would love to have had the opportunity to sit down with him and just talk awhile. Maybe when I get to Beulah Land I will have the opportunity.
