D-League

Good morning from ATX. Currently 75°F, humid and overcast. Expecting 92°F later today.

Well, found out last night if I wanted tix to the TAMU game and a ride out, I should have confirmed around August 9th. Meh. At any rate, happy our Cats have enjoyed so much success thus far. Hoping for more.

Happy Friday eve.

Y'all behave.

Good Thursday morning D.

Fall Break this week. Translation work my arse off on jobs that need doings while weather isn’t still good. And good weather it has been. Hasn’t even rained here. @Bert Higginbotha I believe you got some a couple days ago. Just went barely south of here.

Idk what I’ll get in to today but full day of mowing tomorrow.

Be safe all and have a good one. More porch and more coffee.

  • Good Morning, D-League
  • 68º, First time under 70 since Spring. Yes fall is here and it is sunny in the City of Mermaids. High of 89.
  • Coffee extremely good this morning.
  • Ham and eggs are ready
  • Yesterday I worked in the dirt and it took the vinegar out of me. So today I am taking a break from working out there today because my body needs a break. So I will mess around with my pick up and hit the pool.
  • Texas A&M will offer our biggest challenge to date IMO. If our Cats can block and tackle and win the line of scrimmage we can beat this team in College Station. I like our chances
  • Here is a little post card from the past. The Peace River Bridge near Arcadia. Circa 1890's

We have come a long way since this picture of me on our 31 Ford. My grandson recently got his driver license and I relayed to him the story about my mother who got her drivers license when you was 14. She didn't even take a test, written or drivers. The year was 1926 and all she had to do was pay fifty cents at the court house. She was still driving at age 90, never haven taken a drivers test in her life. Life was so much more simple back then.

Won’t be able to see all the Kentucky-A@M game Saturday. Bought tickets back in March to see John Prine at the Ryman in Nashville. Will be my first time there. Last Saturday was National Coffee Day. Little late but cheers.
Well, if you have to miss the game, that's an excellent reason. For some reason, despite the season, this song jumped into my head. (

We did get some Tuesday. I never remember a wetter August and September than this year.

73° F here at 8:30am. I need to wash the windows outside and I am waiting for someone to come over and do it for me. No one has offered yet.

That would qualify as a reason for me to miss a game.

Good, we can analyze the ice for CO2 in the trapped air bubbles. He's likely responsible for the climate change.

Is there no end to this man's evil?

  • Good Morning, D-Leagueanites and Lurkers.
  • 84º again this morning. Another beautiful morning. Early Fall.
  • My coffee is very good.
  • All posts read and liked.
  • Enjoyed Taco del Sol last evening with friends. It had been a log time for me.
  • The DNC needs to try something different. That didn't work at all.
  • Grass cut and Pine needles up. Looks much better.
  • Hope everyone made it just fine on Hump Day.
  • Drive safely. Watch out for the IDMOs. They are everywhere and very dangerous.
  • As you were. Carry on. Don't throw ice cubes if you know what is good for you.

I used to go to the Opry back in the mid-60s.

Marty Robbins must have been performing (maybe George Jones based on the photo held up). He was the only one who got this kind of reaction.

Went outside and mowed the grass and then went to the shop for the first time in several days. I had a couple of piddling things to do to finish the table completely. I had to take another sliver out of the top to get the stainless insert to fit properly. Now it's in there and raised about a 1/16" above the table top so I can sit hot things on it and not burn the table.

All that's left now is to get it from the shop to the patio. I need to bid that job out but a friend is going to help me. Maybe we can do it.

I don't realize how cold my house is until I go outside and work up a sweat and then come back in.

I watched Marty Robbins run in the Daytona 500. He hung in there. I also saw a few of his live concerts and he put on a great show.
