D-League

Sad news, D-League. My wife's best friend of more than 30 years, dating back to college, has died in her early 50s after a long struggle with cancer. My wife has been spending her evenings with her friend and could see the obvious signs, but still wasn't prepared, as none of us ever are. Thanks to all who sent along their thoughts and prayers in recent days.

Prayers to all of you guys. That is a very tough situation to deal with. I have experienced it a few times. Provide a soft shoulder. May God bless you all.

God bless your wife. Wow that is hard.

I lost my sister when she was 53, to cancer. I know the pain.

Dear Jesus. So sorry. How awful and so young.

Prayers and support. I know how difficult this is. I lost my closest friend in April. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and died within weeks. I was with him the night he slipped into a coma dying three days later. I hate cancer. . God be with and comfort the family. This is tough

The cost for a baby delivery in the year I was born. My parents could not afford this so I was born at home. I have no idea if a doctor or midwife was involved.

I was also born in 1943. The midwife came down with pneumonia so a cousin suggested mom go to a hospital. I was the first person in my family's history to be born in a hospital. The cost was less than $25.00

That's awful. I'm sorry to hear this. Cancer is just a horrible disease.

Y'all are up early.

Hopefully nothing serious. Get well soon.
Lol never got to go to bed
I’ve never been more grateful for coffee

It’s definitely kidney stones. Plus he apparently has what the doctor called a “sack full of gall stones.”
They wanted to monitor him for a few hours but he should be able to come home later this morning
I hope we can sleep for a while when we get back

Good morning all, It's Friiiiiiiiiiiiiiiday! Of course, when you're retired, everyday is the weekend. But I still look forward to the weekend because my wife is off. Nothing going on today with me. Just looking forward to tomorrow night. Will watch Louisville - Gtech tonite on Espn and root for the ramblin wreck .
Hope everyone has a great day, hope all those ailing start feeling better. Everyone traveling this weekend, be safe. Thats all i got for now, will check in later. As always, GO CATS!

  • Good Morning, D-League
  • 68º this morning. A carbon copy of yesterday
  • Coffee is hot and flavorful. If I ever receive word I can't drink anymore coffee then just send me to my celestial home.
  • Good comments in the D-League. We enjoy life and if someone is in need the D-League is there to help
  • Ham and eggs were good and should give me the strength to carry on
  • The protestors in D.C. are a sad example of how low people will go in politics. A desire for power will do that to a person. If they keep it up even my Democrat first cousin may see the light. That is a stretch I know.
  • Friday is here and I am thankful because we are one day closer to UK football. I am still in a fog over the football Cats but I love every moment of it.
  • I will sign off with a shot of Dunedin, Florida facing the West.

I also had gall stones and my gall bladder removed in 1999. Put up with sporadic, severe pain for 3 years, usually at night. Vomiting. Felt so much better after they pulled that thing out.

Mornin' D-League. Thank goodness it is Friday. This week has been a bruiser in lots of ways. A ton of work to do, then looking forward to totally vegging out.

Thanks again for all the support for my wife. She got up, seemed fine, headed off to her job. Life goes on. That's all we can do.

Dunedin is one of my favorite places in Florida. Nice little place

71° F and sunny. We had fog early this morning.

BKO I hope Rob gets those kidney stones moving. They say that is about a painful as it gets.

I had my gal bladder removed in 1981 the old fashioned way - through a 9 inch opening. I had a stone in the common duct so I got the two drain tubes - hospitalized for 8 days. Ever since then I have had gal bladder symptoms!

My daughter was born there. It is a sister city to Sterling, Scotland and the Scottish influence is prominent in their history and culture. One thing I like about it is it is an "Open Waterfront Community" and views of Clearwater Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico are unobstructed with high rises and condominium. None are found within one mile of the water front. There are no large commercial signs or chain restaurants or chain retail stores in the downtown area. The beaches are world class and have no hotels, restaurants or residential areas. Not a single condominium. This is their beach

At the ER with Rob
Thinking kidney stone again
Blood pressure is way up
Gotta get labs and scans and whatnot
Hoping there is nothing else

I feel ya. I've passed four of those suckers. I used to pass one about every five years. Haven't passed one in 16 years now. Last one took five days and I went to work every day. Went to the hospital once and learned they don't do anything to help. Toughed the others out.
