Mornin' D-League. Back to reality day.

Still a little buzzed over the Cats win. As I've mentioned here, my older daughter went to UF, and as she pointed out, never in her entire life was she forced to congratulate ME after the game.

Also, I got to see Hamilton with my wife at the Kennedy Center in Washington yesterday. I won't bore with details except to say it was truly inspiring and has reignited my interest in learning as much as I can about the people who founded our country.

Had a great weekend...3 days of golf, won some cash & the W by the football Cats!
I may or may not have woke up with a headache Sunday morning....
Got home yesterday, laid on couch....a lot.
Congrats to you guys who have been loooong time UK football supporters. I have been a basketball fan since I was 10-12 but never cared about the football much 'til I started posting in here. 31 years....wow.
Might take me a few days to get caught up....
Grand daughter is cute as a button & not much bigger than one either. I'll get her set up with a username and password in a few more years....

Okay D-Leaguers. First time in a looong time one can legitimately argue that Kentucky is getting screwed in the AP FOOTBALL rankings.
The facts:
Cats unranked. Michigan State ranked 25.
* First week: Cats win by double-digits over an average team; Michigan State has to come back late in the 4th quarter at home to beat cupcake Utah STATE.
* Second week: Cats beat 25-ranked Florida on the road. Michigan State loses to unranked Arizona State.

Now, I'm not going to argue that no other team deserves that 25th ranking more than UK. I don't know enough about every possible contender.
But Michigan State has done nothing to deserve being ranked, and Kentucky has at least done something.

Lady (that's you, BKO) and Gentlemen of the jury, I rest my case.

The remainder of UK's schedule is not easy but it's not brutal either. Two ranked teams (at this point) in MIss. St. and UGA. Home schedule is favorable. I'm not saying this will be a historic year but it could be one of the best in recent memory. The Florida win was huge!

Just finished the book Winter's Bone. Pretty good. Short book. Now I want to see the movie.

I wasn't pissed about the number 34 ranking but now I am.

I built a drawer today!! I've built a few drawers before but not like this one. Finger joints, inset bottom, cedar face plate. Very happy with the way it turned out. Also got the other drawer frame and sliders installed. Pretty good progress today.

Went to the dermatologist today and had two skin cancers successfully removed. My head looks like the Mummy. All is well for a couple of years I guess.

Glad you caught it early chief. I'm lucky that my doctor I've been going to for 20 years did a year with a dermatologist. I take him things my wife sees and doesn't like every now and then and he tells me it's not cancer but he'll slice if off and send it in if I want. I see him every 6 months so hopefully nothing gets by us.

My best friend ever and FIL passed 7 years ago today. this man hands down is the reason I have the life I have today. he got me hired at Dupont and fathered the love of my life and wife I'm still married to today..this song is the most appropriate song ever..enjoy this with me as I celebrate my best friend as he was welcomed into heaven 7 years ago today...Love ya pop, hope I'm doing you proud with your daughter and hope to see you on the other side..

I believe you're correct about the Kentucky football disrespect. Rampant without a doubt. They've been an after thought for a looong time. They get their chance, it's SEC. Warning, don't sell the PAC12 short. Tough conference. The State of Utah has a large community of Polys. They're not particularly fast but they don't get pushed around. They may get a unsportsmanlike flag while dancing over your flattened torso after a collision , all the while waving their tongue in a symbolic reference to their history of cannibalism. Warriors that eat their enemies. Arizona State may well have the best receiver in America not playing on Sundays. No disrespect to your post. Just loving collegiate sports.Football is an awesome sport. MSU has played 2 PAC 12 teams. Not SEC but on par with Big 10.

Lots of good info in this post, Rooster. Thanks for sharing. One slight correction - Utah State was MSU’s first game, not Utah, and Utah State is not in the PAC-12. It is in the Mountain West. But either way, I do remember some excellent football teams coming out of Utah.
