D-League

Prayers for QB your way Don,

You are correct it a different world than you and I grew up in. A few years back the horror of horrors hit our family in a case you may have heard about. My first cousin's grand daughter, Jaycee Dugard was kidnapped while at a school bus stop. Her story is heart breaking and it destroyed the family. Her poor step father was the main suspect by the police and he was falsely accused and it caused so much friction in the family it ended in divorce. My first cousin was so upset by the way things were handled by the authorities in California he moved to Mississippi and vowed to never return to California. Here is a little information on her story.

Truly horrible.

Below is a picture of the SEC Kickoff Picnic taken in 2016. Event cancelled last year due to hurricane.

2015 event was the year I served the beer ("one for you, one for me"), got totally wasted, fell off my bicycle trying to ride home, and then later fell 20 feet down the slope of a hill before trying to ride across a bridge. Wife had to rescue my drunk ass, as I'd planned on sleeping under a bridge. Anyway, just a 3-beer limit tomorrow.

Have fun.

“ Anyway, just a 3-beer limit tomorrow. “. Oh no, say it ain’t so!

67.5° F here now and I did not even think to look at the temp when I first got up.

Friday folks. Going to a friends house for beef stew tonight. Most of the veges are from their garden.

Got our grave stone put in yesterday. Now we are ready to die. Hopefully it will be a little later!

Well, that is just not acceptable. Especially from you. Now buckle down and do better young man. We’re counting on you.

  • Good Morning, D-Leagueanites. Slept well. Hope you did.
  • 64º in Johns Creek. Feels like Fall to me. Pretty morning.
  • QB's shin is very, very sore. She woke up several times because of the pain. It looks rough.
  • Would you have a problem with a woman shooting a stalker dead who was bothering her on her jog? It's bound to happen sooner or later.
  • Also, would you allow your 8 year old to walk your dog around the block. I would not. It is a sign of the times.
  • That is all. As you were.
  • Carry on.

Things old people learn but didn't know when younger.

Any injuries to extremities take twice as long to heal as when we're young (poor blood circulation).

I hope you' and her have sucked it up and gone to the doctor.

Could have saved some money, Bert. Not a radical difference between Homer HendelBerenHeinzel and Bert Higgenbotha really and I doubt anyone would notice.

However, the "The Honorable Sir Bert Higgenbotha, Beloved and Esteemed Mayor" memorial statue you plan to erect in front of the Smith Grove courthouse will require more exact lettering.

a 3-beer limit
Not for me. No limits . . . ever. Tonight when the I, The the wild Rooster gets loose, beers are in peril. I do realize my intent to drink them all is a delusion of grandeur. Still as long as I want one, I'm having another. (Truth is #1 lasts about 15 seconds [winking], # 2 about 20-30 minutes, # 3 Worn out, I fall asleep :(

Morning D
Well... gonna buy a new washer. Mother board on the old one was fried and in all honesty it would cost as much to fix as it would to buy a new one
So I’m here at Moms doing Laundry and we’ll head out a little later to shop for one
Don I hope the QB heals quickly and well and that all who are ailing recover soon
Hugs

Well Bert, looks like you have riled up catfaninsc. Get busy and get that temp...to the nearest tenth of course.

Railroad is the best first baseman ever. He was big when we played baseball together many moons ago. Big as a barn. As shortstop, I could shut my eyes and throw a grounder to him and he would still catch it. Ah those were the days.

Speaking of those days, I live about a mile away from where I grew up. Used to get on our bicycles and be gone several hours at a time. It was a safe time in Future City. But now, I wouldn't let my kids do the same thing. Used to swipe my mom's Salems and ride down to the creek, get under the bridge and puff away. It was a one lane bridge at a right angle to the road so no big truck traffic. They finally did away with it and the traffic soon changed. A lot of people from Ballard, Carlisle, Hickman, use this road to cut over and go into Paducah, especially after 60 changed into a four lane. Different world these days.

Anyway, gotta work 3-10 today. 7-1pm tomorrow. Short turn around. Difficult for an old man. Have a goodun. FCC.

All us old timers knew that from the git-go.

Dang, things in Park City were so similar.[thumb2]

I had a first cousin that graduated from Paducah Tilghman (where I think Don graduated) in 1964. Jerry was 6'4". We were separated by a couple hundred miles but our experiences were the same.

The problem is he never played sports.

Had I been 6'4" I would have been all state basketball.

FCC you are still crazy! What were you thinking when you pushed me, felt like a misquote. LOL:sunglasses:

Scenes from the UK campus. My son bumped into Tyler Herro today. My boy is a legitimate 6'4'', on the slim side at 175. He said Tyler was definitely one and maybe two inches taller and built bigger. So Herro's listed size of 6'5'' 195 appears on the money. My son was a decent HS player in suburban DC. I think he'd be a hand full for UK's walk-ons. Too bad that's not an open competition.

Good evening D-League. Allergies have been getting the best of me the last few days, but hopefully some rest this weekend will do the trick. Anyways, here's some football and basketball news for everyone to enjoy. Go Big Blue!

Hello everyone! Dad had to go to the hospital last night for chest pains. I was there this morning at 0730 and met with the cardiologist at around 1030. They said he would be there early but I guess their idea of early and mine are a little different. Anyway, the doc said, based upon the tests, that he didn't think it was his heart. They were going to do a stress test later but no one has called yet to tell me the results. He was doing fine when they took him down and I left. He's been coughing a lot the last two weeks and his pcp put him on a bunch of prednisone.

May God stay close to him.

Good News!
When I have heartburn I always think I'm having a f-ing heart attack.
They were going to do a stress test
Dang, hope they don't test me. These days? I'd fail that sucker.

For all those who persevere through the mosaic of life's suggles, see their friends and families pass on, assist others face these struggles head on. Blessed they are as we become. I ain't no saint but I never forget.

Still playing softball but had to stop mid season this year because of plantar fasciitis. Trying to get over it enough to try again next year. This injury took me out last year. sliding in to second (Pete Rose style) and the ball was thrown high. The second baseman being about 6'4" or so and weighing about 240 plus went up to get it, Iwent under him and he came down with both feet on my leg. Finished the game but, getting out of bed the next morning was hell.

I was only TallyWacker high on a medium donkey when I heard Mom ask, "How long is he going to play basketball." Dad said, "Until they git too big" . . . He was right. Bubba broke me. He broke you too. Retire and fish as a pro. Got anything better?

Glad he's doing ok. I had something similar a couple months ago. They decided to keep me overnight. They run a couple test, got me out of there at 11 the next morning. Almost $ 12,000. And people still think we don't need some kind of healthcare reform? Thank goodness i have insurance

Good morning from ATX. Currently 77°F. Looking at yet another day of triple digit heat.

SEC Kick-off Picnic is today. Plan on leaving around 9 AM. Event starts at Noon. Must first ride 3 miles over to the credit union. Afterwards, I'll ride to the nearest Metro Rapid stop and put the bike on a bus.
