I played football with the guy that wrote that song I think, Jimmy Weatherly

Did he share any of his royalties with you? 90 cents would have been nice.

I grew up in a dry county. A cold beer cost 50 cents at a bootlegging joint. You had to be over 12 before they would sell you one though. Even bootleggers gotta maintain some standards.

  • Good Morning, D-Leagueanites.
  • 73º in Johns Creek. Scattered clouds. TS expected.
  • Lola enjoying this 73º.
  • 2nd mug of Dark Magic going.
  • Hope y'all had a fun 4th.
  • Fromme broke his non-throwing hand in a boating accident. They say it won't affect his play, but it'a a broken hand. Not good for the Dawgs.
  • Maybe we should abolish the citizenship of those who are giving President Trump all of this shit. It's unamerican.
  • I made us Ghetto Burgers last night. QB likes grilled better. I thought they were delicious.
  • Someone used a counterfeit $100 bill to buy a $20 bottle of shampoo. Police are looking for a suspect with clean hair.
  • Stay safe.
  • As you were. Carry on.

82°F here with humidity of 93%. The hot spell is supposed to break after today. My yard needs mowing but it ain't going to happen.

I enjoyed the posts yesterday.

You all have a great one. Blood test for me to see if my PSA is still low. I have to hold my breath 'till monday afternoon to know.

Mornin' D. Just back from my son's orientation at UK. He really had a fabulous experience, and they managed to sooth some of my wife's anxieties about him being 600 miles from home -- since he's shown, frankly, a limited capacity to master complicated tasks like making his bed and performing basic household chores.

The campus is as beautiful as ever and the facilities have undergone a remarkable upgrade in recent years, from what we hear from people who were there a decade ago. So, our optimism that he'll settle in and have a productive college career is growing.

I lived in the old Haggin Hall during my freshman year (1978/1979) and it was a dump. Living conditions are MUCH better nowadays.

My son's room in Jewell Hall is impressive, compared to freshman digs his sisters had at Florida and Maryland. A private bedroom of ample size with a locking door, mini-fridge and microwave, and a fairly plush bathroom he shares with one other person.

Very nice! Mine was one small room with bunk beds and communal bathroom/showers.

Can remember when eggs were bad for you and then they were good for you and then they were bad for you. Same thing for salt as well. Also, 8 8ounce glasses of water a day then later changed to different people require different amounts and 8 was probably too many for most. I probably average about 4 to 5 daily sometimes even less. I don't think about drinking half of the time and will go a whole day without doing so. Don't drink water much anyway. ICE drinks, juice, milk, coke zero, and if it is water it is usually flavored of some kind.

P.S. forgot beer. Drink it after mowing or playing ball.

Good morning from Shawanee, TN. Current temp is 70°F.

I'm leaving for Lexington around 9:30 am. Plan on visiting a few places around town after checking in to my room. Returning tomorrow.

Hope y'all had Happy 4th. Behave.

I was in Lex today. It was hot there.

We went to the piddler mall in Lex today and we were excited about it being a two story building. Turns out they don't have an elevator or ramp so he couldn't go upstairs. That sucked.

After that we headed over to Georgetown to hit the mall there. We took highway 62 back to Frankfurt and then 60 back through Shelbyville on the way home. Had a great time.

Being 72 years old, I don't believe anything.

I eat it, I drink it and I shit it.

If I die tomorrow so be it.

I am so damned tired of being told how to live that I can't stand it.

So all the good doers please shut UP.

I am not going to listen.

Been hitting that bourbon, Bert?

That has been my philosophy as well. I've lived nearly 75 good years now and, while not wishing it, I wouldn't care much if I died tomorrow (a fatal drop dead heart attack would do nicely). This world and country are suicidal and have gotten so absurd I'm glad I won't be around to see it come crashing down. I don't even follow the news anymore. I feel sorry for my grandkids though.

Going fishing again in the morning, going to check out a different spot this time. Been doing well at Rattler but, it is time to see where else has good biting bass. Wife took 2 days off and begged me to join her on the second one but, I have not told her yet that the first half of the day, I will be chasing bass. She'll get over it, after all, we have the rest of the weekend.

Mowing the grass on Sunday so, the bass will get a reprieve.
