D-League

Afternoon folks. Been to the hospital since early this morning. The wife had an elective surgery to remove a cyst from her neck. We got back home just before noon.

At noon we had a big thunderstorm and it dumped on us. We got nearly an inch in thirty minutes. Coming back from the hospital it was 92 degrees on my cars thermometer. So there was a lot of energy to work with.

@ymmot31 Austin plans on being here at 4pm August 1. You are welcome as I need help in beating him up! Also the stainless steel 18" x 18" schedule 40 is cut and hopefully delivered to my house tonight.

Austin on another vacation? [pfftt] He gets more vacation time than me ... and I'm retired.

August 1st eh? Looks like I'll only miss him by about 30 days. Better late than never though, that's what they say.

I surely do appreciate the steel my man! I might just go ahead and come down on July 1st and pick it up.

I will be 61 on that day so, sink a drink for me.

Was the cyst a problem? Curious because I have a lump on the right side of mine and the doctors at the Hospital at Sill said that as long as it did not hurt or grow any larger it was really no problem. Not the words my wife was wanting to hear.
Hers had been there for a while but was getting larger. They are usually no problem, but it was getting bigger. The doc said it probably started out as a hair follicle.

Ymmot called and wanted to know what I was doing. I knew it was July and I typed August.

I had to cover my brain fart and I told him that I did not want to share time between both of you.

Now we are on the same page. JULY. He plans to be here so we will have fun. We have already divised our plan of attack.

  • Happy Anniversary to 55 and his main squeeze.
  • Good train work Rooster.
  • Got my stitches out. See the doc in 4 months.
  • Business sucks.
  • Some poor vet set himself on fire at the capitol today in Atlanta. Poor old soul. He did not die.
  • Take care.
Rooster a very nice man, always pleasant. Ask him to help and it's a done deal. Very knowledgeable and intelligent . Like Don said a good photo of an EMD-GP40-2 from CSXRR

Don that was terrible news about the Veteran May God be with him!

Thanks for the kudos RRK. I feel the same about you. Inhabitants of the D are awesome. I like it here and 'preciate that rotten eggs don't hang round here. :sunglasses: Setting oneself ablaze . . . incomprehensible to me. Prayers for the tormented..

Made some rib rub earlier and applied it to two racks of ribs. Very good rub. I used a recipe for the main part but kind of went off on my own a little as well. Tastes like bbq alright, but I put some chili powder in there that I had made and it's got a nice little spicy kick to it too. Might not put any sauce on these. Tomorrow a friend is coming over to help me cook them and to drink beer. I need help with neither but it's always nice to have a cohort.

Actually had a soldier get drunk, wrap himself up in toilet paper, light it and jumped out a three story billet window in a unit in Germany. No serious injuries, broken leg and a few scratches. Was put out a month or so later.

Thanks for the well wishes on my anniversary... The D is the best...glad I was invited to the D years ago...not always been the best of posters but love the laid back no drama atmosphere that we try to maintain...Also love the fact that everyone can express their views/opinions which we may not always agree but still we respect others opinion...thanks Dondaddy for creating a place for us oldies to yap about our daily routines and what nots...

Married to my best friend and soulmate 45yrs today
not sure what's on the agenda for today, I know we are eating out ( place to be determined, she has to pick ) tonight
reckon the day will just play out by ear..

Oh I remember who raised the most hell about the train pics!

In under the wire. Happy anniversary. 45 bigguns.[banana]

Morning good folks of the D-League. 71° F here. We got rain overnight, so for the last 48 hours my little yard has been blessed with 1 7/8" of rain. There was a robin family out on the drive way picking up earth worms that were trying to get to higher ground. The first batch of the year are the easiest to raise in Kentucky.

Ymmot, I have a 28-pound piece of stainless steel on my porch awaiting you. It is deceivingly heavy.

You all have a really good day.

Good Wednesday D.

Another day of some rain and potential storms. We got another round of storms yesterday with the potential for more today. Bert I was on the way back from BG (youngest daughter had wisdom teeth cut out) when the hefty stuff came thru. It got rough around Park City/Cave City.

Oldest daughter 26 today. My where has the time gone.

No mowing today. Hope to have wall to wall mowing Thursday and Friday.

Have a safe one D.

It nearly blew my green beans over and 5 of my egg plants are down in the mud now.

Howdy D. Everybody has to live somewhere. Here is a snapshot of the county where I live: Convicted Traitor and Transgender nut Chelsea Manning got more votes for the US Senate in Montgomery County Md. - 6,453 - than the leading Republican - 4,138. He/She got more than the top two GOPers combined...Okay, my last political comment until at least November.
