I refill mine every night to ensure no impurities. Is a pain but worry about ingested molds or fungal spores of some sort. Humidifier is great though.
Definitely change the water every night! I buy and use distilled water only.

Yup absolutely recommend distilled water every night and it’s like a dollar a gallon. I think I go through maybe 2 gallons a month.

Sorry to hear that. (My oldest daughter is a CRNA and her explanation of what you are going through I do pray for you.) I wore that type of full face mask for a short time but never could get the mask to seat properly during the night. It was always leaking. I have an oblong head though too. BUT, that type mask always seemed to leave marks that never went away until late in the day.
The F30 is considered a full face mask too.
ResMed AirFit™ F30 Full Face CPAP Mask with Headgear
Not sure of your requirements other than what you stated BUT I will also state the F30 does not have that constant air flowing through the hose as any mask I ever had has had. (The constant flow of air)
With this mask I can roll over and turn toward my wife and she is not getting hit by a constant "breeze". This mask doesn't have that issue. I previously had to turn away from my wife or sleep on my back or put a pillow between me and my wife where the air would hit her like a fan. Just a perk of this mask.
What I have recently realized is with any mask once you put it on at night you should completely reset your straps like it is the first time using the mask. Not doing that caused me to spend may years fighting more leaks than needed at night as the straps expand even during one night. Reset your straps each night. It is worth the time to do that. (To me anyway.)
Not trying to sell this mask but in a few days use it has been that good for me.
I hope all goes well for you.
I will be looking at this when I can go home, but it will be a while. Thanks for your advice on this. I will have a very major surgery tomorrow, which will mean I will be back in ICU, but I will be looking at this, or a Dreamwear which one of my friends recommends. Well, at least I got to vote, and got to watch UK destroy Tennessee. Go Cats and stay healthy my friends.
Tried. Can't keep my mouth closed and it feels like you have a leaf blower up your nose if you open your mouth.

If you have problem keeping your mouth shut at night, I found a simple trick. Go on Amazon and order micropore tape. It's like that medical tape that sticks to anything. Take small piece and tape the middle of your mouth, seriously. I tried all the jaw straps and everything but they didn't work for me, the tape worked like a charm.

Doing fine, all things considered. Still using my CPAP. Overall it has improved the quality of my sleep and my wife no longer complains of my snoring.Hello, I hope this finds you well. Please give an update if you are so inclined. Thanks
Well crap....I use the Dreamstation machine.
I noticed the article said to discontinue using until it could be repaired unless it was life threatening.Same here, and I've had some respiratory issues recently as well. This year I've done chest x-rays, a pulmonary function test, and my doctor has me going to see a pulmonologist in July. I sent her a link to this article, so thanks for posting Wesley.

I have the Dreamstation and I found out today that my model is under recall so I went ahead and registered on the website.
I also called my Dr and they advised to keep using my machine because the risks of not using it outweigh the risks of using it. Nobody has any idea when they'll be replaced. As I understand it, the Dreamstaation is by far the most used machine in the US so it might be a while before anything gets done.
If you're apnea is as bad as mine, not using the machine isn't really an option, so I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.
I've been thinking of getting a travel machine since in pre-covid times I was traveling at least once per month for work. I might as well go ahead and pull the trigger and use it at home until I get a new main machine.I decided to keep using mine too. I don't use the solvent they mentioned but when asked, I chose I didn't know.
I also asked the VA who provided mine and told them I have private health insurance (They use that as a secondary insurance.) and told them I'd pay for a new one if that was an option.
It is agonizing to contemplate but like you I decided I need to keep using my machine. I had a couple friends die in their sleep. One a newly retired 1SG who was in as good of shape as you can be in. I am sorry to hear all are going through this... It is agonizing at best.
I have an older dreamstation too, I just thought to check that one but I bet it is in the recall too.
Edit: That one is recalled too...

Also, I switched to the Airfit F30 mask earlier this year on your recommendation. So comfortable and doesn't kill my nose like the Amara View. I'm never going back! Thanks for the tip!
I watched a video of a guy who said that the foam is made from toxic chemicals that emit from the very first use. It has been banned in other countries according to him. If not for the fact that I would have to go to the doctor for another visit to get a prescription I would purchase a ResMed machine and be done with Phillips.I decided to keep using mine too. According to that guy Phillips has a history of issues with their products as well. It seems they are flippant with all their products.Yeah, I did some research too and am hoping that not using the solvents they mention to clean will lessen the hazard to where it has not caused any issues so far BUT, I have used that for many years. It does weigh heavy on my worry meter to where it is seriously angering that this is even an issue.
How dare companies be this flippant about a product they sold/ sell... Things are seriously going on like this is just another bump in the road!
Anyone received any updates from Phillips since registering your machine?
They told me it would be months before they could replace recalled machines. My doc told me the same and unfortunately, I’m 11 months before being able to get a new machine with insurance.Anyone received any updates from Phillips since registering your machine?
My apnea isn't at a life threatening level but it sure does effect my wife's quality of sleep if I don't use it. I have chosen not to use it so she sleeps in a spare bedroom until I can get a new machine. They told me it would be months before they could replace recalled machines. Can’t use the humidifier and had to buy special filters.
Ridiculous situation
Think I’m lucky I couldn’t get an upgrade to that recalled machie.Called pharmacy that handles this.... they said there'd be a replacement in about 3 weeks.
Think I called them about 2 months ago.
Soundboutrite.
No not yet. I’m sure they’ll blame it on COVID or the chip shortage or Trump.Anyone received any updates from Phillips since registering your machine?
Last I heard the planned to replace the defective Dreamstation with the Dreamstation 2 but the FDA hadn't cleared the foam in the Dreamstation 2. It is a different insulation but I guess the FDA is being extra careful after this debacle. No not yet. I’m sure they’ll blame it on COVID or the chip shortage or Trump.

Have you all checked when your up for a new machine via insurance? Is it 10 years I can’t remember I’ve only had my machine since maybe 2015 - surely insurance should/could provide some relief and expedite/waive the replacement machine timeframe.
