two years ago with the cheating cloud over their heads UNcheat won a championship. Their cheating was ok d and allowed to participate even though they had a vast history of ineligible players.

This year. Kansas has been caught on audio agreeing to pay players. Pitino was fired for the same crap last year: yet Kansas is preseason number one and there is no indication that anything will happen to them. What’s the point? Why at this point would anyone take college basketball serious?

I mean we are UK fans ok of course we will watch but how can anyone else? How can KU fans even get excited for their team which should self ban from any postseason tournament? It’s sickening that the biggest cheater in this federal investigation is the number 1 team. WTH is wrong with America??? Cheaters are now rewarded? Programs like KU and UNcheat are now allowed to break major rules and enjoy their seasons??? What happened at both schools far trancends hookergate and if Kansas is allowed to play in the post season i may be done with college basketball altogether. I cannot watch my team do things on the up and up while everyone knows auburn, Arizona, Kansas, Louisville and many more have been cheating big time to get players.

Yes I’m very angry. Teams are cheating federal laws are being broken and nothing, no accountability. Bill self should be fired, his program hit hard with a self ban at minimum. Same at many other schools. It’s all going to get swept under the rug. This Kansas garbage reminds me of Carolina 2 years ago. Shouldn’t even been allowed to see the tournament. Hell by the letter of the law zion Williamson shouldnt be ineligible.!

We our program had transgressions far less and we had to rebuild from ashes. “Kentucky shame” remember that?? What’s happening is the end of college basketball it’s a mockery of the schools that are doing things the right way.

In a last-ditch effort to save college basketball they’ll give Duke an even friendlier whistle this year. Hurts, but it has to be done. Mark my words.

It is far too ingrained in me at my age to stop watching college basketball but I hear what you are saying. I think many die hard fans are absolutely sick of watching some programs skate and some decapitated. Those of us, like me, that are old enough to remember the apocalyptic shite storm that befell UK for possibly sending some money thru the mail compared to what goes unpunished today are sickened by it all. The NCAA lost its morals and mission years ago and is now a glorified money laundering operation.

The media and that shat storm espn in particular are complicit in this entire mess

That SI cover story was written by UNCheat grad Curry Kirkpatrick. Not a peep from him on the Chapel Hill scandal.
Remember it well, haven't read or paid attention to that magazine since. What the OP says is very true,I'm a UK fan and if they aren't playing I'm done with basketball for that season. The only other reason I watch any college basketball is to see UNC,Duke or KU get beat. Anything bad that befalls any of those programs I thoroughly enjoy.

As are the fans for choosing to look the other way and attend games while programs like UNCheat defend the indefensible. As long as the wins are coming, they don't seem to care. Not so sure we can cast a huge amount of blame on ALL of the media. Many media outlets have reported on the transgressions at UNCheat, Duke, and UofL. Some media outlets like ESPN pick and choose what they report as it applies to their golden eggs. The UNCheat as well as UofL stories made national news. UItimately, the problem is how these issues are dealt with by a corrupt organization known as the NCAA.

Totally agree and have been thinking about the Same thing lately. It infuriates me nobody is talking about the Duke Zion recruitment as well. I think Self should have been fired on the spot. Duke should be getting heavily looked into

It's not that they don't care, they honestly think their school has done nothing wrong.

I wish at least the great Matt Jones would not let it die and at least post about it occasionally. I mean he does have a following

College basketball as we know it is over. NCAA won't do anything about duke period. Maybe not ku either.

It'll exist. But not in this manner. Teams will break off eventually. Other leagues will be formed. Eventually teams and players will just refuse to put up with it and withdraw their membership.

The only way that doesn't happen is if the NCAA launches a legit investigation into Duke. There's more than enough there. We all know it'll never happen

You also have dick Vitale who was basically trashing sean Miller and Pitino when the story first broke saying that should be forced out and that type stuff...hell hes on.twitter pumping KU up as preseason #1 and hasnt even mentioned the FBI trial findings which were way more than what Pitino got fired for

NCAA (and the corrupt media that hand in hand props them up - @you ESPiN), like large utilities and large municipalities NEED competition. They have grown fat, unaccountable and believe themselves above downfall. They are the picture of corruption at it's worst. As more people realize this, and their inconsistent "standards" - coupled with a millennial culture that doesn't give a rat's ass about "tradition" - the NCAA's days are numbered. Sadly the Roy Williams's, Bill Self's, Coach Krybaby's and Mark Emmert's will be retired and living large. Go Cats always - but I have to agree with the OP that the corruption is making it harder and harder to stay committed.

Just look at all the stuff that happened at Michigan State as well. How are they still even a school muchless NCAA eligible? NCAA sold it's soul to keep UNCheat out of trouble - no one respects the NCAA.

I only watch Kentucky Basketball games now. I used to watch other games, including the NCAA Championship, even if Kentucky wasn't in it. After the NCAA openly embracing UNC and them winning the whole thing right afterwards in 2016, I just don't care about NCAA Basketball in general anymore.

I think it's too late for the NCAA. They already dug their own grave when they played favorites with UNC a couple years ago, and they begun to reap what they sow last year when the FBI started knocking on everyone's doors Casino-style.

I'll throw in a quote that Roy said: "All that other stuff is crap! If you want to talk basketball, I'll talk basketball. We made mistakes and we're fixing those problems."
The fixes were already in, and the practice schedule was always being adjusted. The basketball coach shouldn't have to deal with all that crap.
The only administration member that survived the scandal? Simply garbage!

Maybe we need to get some bad publicity aimed at Disney going since they own ESPN and that network is one of the biggest supporters of these cheating programs. Disney fired a director because of the publicity that was starting to happen because of some Twitter posts with crude humor that were dug up from like a decade ago. This is happening right now and their network is trying to support programs that are being investigated by the FBI. Does that go along with Disney's values?

I'm with you Saven

Fire Emmert! Amazing how much of this has happened under his watch. Nike money bought the Bagley's a million dollar home. Zion's family drastically upgrades their living arrangements after moving to Durham.

I
It’s on fbi wiretap. There is taped evidence of it
I thought maybe that was the case, but wasn’t positive.

A few days ago, K appeared to shrug off any concerns of eligibility and is preparing the season with Zion.

So that pretty much tells you all you need to know about how much he fears any repercussions from the NCAA.

Another effin hypocrite loser in the media.

He’s probably busy masturbating thinking about Dean Smith and Roy Williams. Two crooked phonies that have/were cheating for years. (I say this with all due respect)

If baseball can make it through the Black Sox Scandal and if college basketball can make it through the early 50s point shaving scandals and if TV can make it through the quiz show scandals of the mid 50s and so on and so on...we'll get through this one. One way or another.

The Big Blue show must go on.

“We’ve opened an investigation into Zion Williamson.”

“We have closed the investigation into Zion Williamson”.

I don’t find CBB to be a very good product any more.

Perhaps more single elimination tournaments during the season, with the big one at the end, would make it better.

The regular season is a crock.

i’ll hang up and listen for the list of schools doing it right.
The game will go on with paid players just like we do now - yeah your school has played professional players through this too. No one could know all the levels of money these kids get. Ncaa now has a door to point to for players wanting paid on the up and up. But most wont.

I believe the downfall of the NCAA was the Cam Newton situation. They knew his father asked for a truckload of money which would have made the NCAA's best player on potentially the best team ineligible and they swept it under the rug. Since then, teams are getting away with everything. The fact is that this is a $Billion sport and cheating will always be rampant. It was rampant when it was a $Million sport.

Lots of truth to what the OP says. As each year passes, I get a wee bit less interested in college sports. Between the NCAA and their selective enforcement, and the terrible rules and officiating I’m caring less and less. I haven’t watched MLB or the NFL for years because of the same type crap
