CI Wrestling Thread #56

According to the Wrestle Tix they had about 8,200 people at MSG last night. About 3,000 of those tickets moved this week.

Looking forward to Revolution tonight.

Not going through the whole card but will predict:

Page
Danielson
Punk
ReDragon
Rosa
Kingston
Wardlow
Jade
House of Black
Sting’s team

Well maybe that is the whole card

You forgot the HOOK/QT and Statlander/Hirsch matches.

Big night for the next step in the HOOK transcendence. We all know he is going to win, how dominant do they make him look against an objectively solid low-mid card wrestler.

That match was freaking insane. Lot of folks won't like the blood, but they are wrong.

Britt and Rosa was MEH, someone posted on Twitter she's basically AEW's Charlotte.

So I guess the idea is Rosa wins in her home of San Antonio??

Regal was definitely one person I wasn't expecting, that's freaking awesome!!
I'm really curious to see what his role is behind the scenes. They already do a pretty good job booking, and he was one of the masterminds behind peak NXT.

And holy shit at Sting being damn near 63 years old and becoming New Jack tonight lol

William Regal showing up and slapping the shit outta Mox and BD was the best thing I've ever seen.... UNTIL I witnessed Sting jump off an entrance and through 4 tables. Women's match did suck, but overall this has been a banger. Even the trio match in the pre show was amazing!

Fun PPV last night. Rosa v Britt was surprisingly bad, but every other match had something worthwhile to it, IMHO.

I ordered Revolution. Overall, I thought it was a great show. I would prefer a Sunday show run from 7 to 11 instead of 8 to midnight, but I’m on the old end of the target demo.

My favorite matches were: Tag title match, ladder match, Punk/MJF dog collar, Mox/Danielson and Page/Cole.

Trios tag was better than I thought it’d be. Jericho/Kingston was solid. Baker/Rosa was underwhelming. I took my dogs our to piss during the Jade/Tai match so I didn’t see much but the finish.

Overall, a fantastic event.

All that trash talking Keith Lee did about wwe and can’t even win his first ppv match?
Is he supposed to? He looked like a dangerous man. It took Hobbs AND Wardlow, you’re two biggest guys, to take him down. And they had to use ladders… then throw him off the stage. It was great. He still looks like a beast. He was booked right imo. Wardlow is the right answer to win. It helps the story with MJF and takes the belt off mediocre Guevara (his Spanish fly was amazing last night).

So what is the obsession with blood?
They trying to be like ecw?
Obviously don’t care about being kid friendly and sticking with their base?

I don't think kids are the target audience for AEW.....that's more WWE's bag, IMHO.

I think AEW is looking for a slightly older demo, from teens to those of us who remember Punk and Danielson in ROH.

The one time I went to an AEW show, there were very few kids in attendance. Don’t ever see kids being a main focus for AEW.

I like blood in wrestling, but it can be an overkill when a handful of matches feature juice. As a former ECW mark, you can tell Kahn was a big one too.

I’m pretty good at spotting patterns, does this mean The Miz is in line to join AEW next?

I’m hearing 22 is just as big of a dumpster fire as 20 was. EA would be big money, but the quality of the game would still suck.

Apparently Becky will not be on raw tonight. Belair fractured Becky’s voice box during a house show last night. I… I didn’t know you could “fracture” a voice box. Anyways… seems Belair is Nia Jax 2.0 and is a danger to work with.

yea, that's why AEW's booking is sh*t. So... Wardlow has 2 things going on now (turns on MJF and TNT title shot) while the rest of these guys have nothing.
This guy here I swear would bad-mouth a BJ from Pamela Anderson.

Wardlow getting a much-deserved push (and the fans loving it) is exactly the opposite of sh!t booking. What a horrible take.

We saw Brian cage win a ladder match on his debut for a championship match and we all saw how that worked out. Lee not winning is the best thing for him.
