James Bruiser Flint will be a great addition to Cal's staff. Bru was hugely successful as Cal's top assistant at UMass. UMass gave Flint a fairly short leash after he replaced Cal. He was much more successful than all but one of of the coaches UMass has hired since and that much disliked Kentucky guy beat it out of town asap.
I was around when Marcum, the biggest sleaze bag on earth, fired Flint. I also followed Flint closely after he went to Drexel. He had some great years with good teams built around players he developed. Philly is Flint's home town and Drexel is not part of the historically important group of basketball schools in the city. Nevertheless, Drexel was a force in the CAA.
There is just no question that Flint will be a valued member of Calipari's staff at Kentucky. IMO fans will find him an interesting and effective coach and recruiter.
