Boom Williams situation getting distressing

The most frustrating part of this is that we have some serious momentum right now aND a very good chance at having a big season, and all this is doing is distracting from attaining that. Very frustrating to me.

Just glad we're playing Eastern because if we were playing say Auburn this would be a huge distraction. I just think we are just much more talented than Eastern...we should be. Even bad UK teams have roasted Eastern, this is not one of them. Defense has gotta be licking their chops. I wanna see a shutout!

This is a ridiculous comment. What you are suggesting would DESTROY any program in any sport .
Talent above all my friend, obviously you need discipline, but when you have a talent like Boom, sometimes you have to handle things a little differently. NOTHING trumps God given talent, never has, never will.

Boom loafed and did not pickup blitz and this is not first game that's happened. Also slow to get in the flat on more than one out pattern. I'm sure Coach will get this straight! Might see Boom fielding kickoffs!

I think it would probably help if everyone chilled out a little bit about this. I too saw boom jog off the field by himself and wondered what was going on but anything past that is speculation and causes more damage than good because it doesn't cause any good AT ALL.

The problem is people start to assume he's got a bad attitude and turn on him as if that's the case for no good reason. We already have people defending stoops as if they (stoops and boom) have a problem and boom is pissed because he's not starting when NOBODY has any proof that it's the case!

So let's all stop with the speculative problems when we have no idea if anything is even going on and support this team, boom and the coach and let the coaches handle any and all situations while we cheer and support every player on the field. After all, our only job is to be a fan and cheer for this team, let the coaches coach and the players play.

Not 100% sure I understand your comment but it sounds like you're saying that Boom comes before the team and the coaches and if he has the mentality of "I'll take my ball and go home" then he better be coddled because he's too important to lose. If I misunderstood you I wholeheartedly apologize but if what I said is true then you've got your priorities way out of whack. I think he comes back a better person and a better player but CMS will never let pure selfishness win out...... if that's the case.

Really? Only a wussy coach would take that advice.

The list of extremely talented coddled players with bad attitudes who never won anything is a mile long, no matter the sport.

Football is about as team of a sport as you can play.

I see no way you can make anyone who has ever played or coached agree with you on this, especially when it comes to a very public display as this was.

In the end this may be the best thing for Williams becasue it might well redirect his focus on pass protection responsibilities which has always been his weakness - not just one play last week. He can do two things he can pout or he can go the film room and study film on our future opponents blitz packages and get a better understanding of his responsibility, then talk to his position coach on what else he can do to improve.

Blitz pickup is extremely important. One missed block and you can lose a quarterback for a play or a game or a season.

Again, nobody knows if he was even pouting. All he did was run to the locker room. For all we know, maybe he had to pee really bad. Everything said has been complete 100% speculation by fans and some media.

The kid would start just about anywhere and he know's it, if he is going to ride the pine then he might as well transfer (not saying that is the case here). When you have a horse like him you may take him out for a couple of series, but he deserves to start. He is by far the most talented player on this roster, this looks like it has turned into a pissing contest between him and Stoops. I understand Stoops is trying to make a point, but sometimes you need to realize who butter's your bread and when to pick and choose your battles.

Not sure if you are serious! He sat out the biggest part of 1 half. Lase year Jo Jo sat out basically after the South Carolina game, that he helped win?

Am I really the only one that realizes Boom's dad was kicked out of the CatWalk two weeks ago before the Florida game because a police officer told him that "Stoops didn't want him there". Go over to Vaughtsviews.com and read all about it. Stoops had to end up calling Boom's dad while he was driving back to Georgia and tell him that he didn't know where the police officer got that from.

That all seems like a little bit too much of a coincidence for me. Am I really the only one that knows about that whole deal? I figured it would be all over the board once this Boom transfer talk started. It's been out there in the news for two weeks now. Come on boys.

I think you are the only one who is making a deal about it. Stoops called Boom's dad and he was then allowed back into the Cat Walk on Saturday. Doesn't seem like an issue to me at all. Good job stirring it up though.

Good thing we're playing Eastern this week....should mean lots of touches and yards for all 3 RB's.

I hope you're right but I'll admit to being a bit curious as to what those "personnel issues" are that he reportedly has that has kept him from practicing this week and maybe playing Saturday.

I love KSR (I know, many on here do not), but that was really poor of Ryan to mention that without having confirmation.

Hope CMS can get this under control.

Howdy FFrodo!

Like KSR Website, for up to date photos, and a few of their stories. However, for the most part their writers can be very thoughtless, self-centered, and judgmental: I put very little credibility in reports on sensitive topics such as this one.

Stanley Boom Williams is going to be just fine, and does not need "rumors" like this one started and spread.

Let's let this play out and see who comes out with "egg on their faces".

GO BIG BLUE

it's not "much adoo about nothing" when your star rb doesn't practice and might not play in this weeks game. not the end of the world but its gonna be talked about on a message board.

It IS "much ado about nothing"

“It has nothing to do with him quitting the team or anything like that,” Stoops said. “I’m just here to tell you, again, Boom is going through a personal issue and we’re here to help him in any way we can. When he gets some things resolved and situated, he’ll be back out there. Until then, we’ll support him any way we can and the other guys will step up and compete.”

Devils advocate, Ryan Harrows issue was a personal one as well. Hope it works out but if not UK will be fine. One player doesn't make a football team.
Nothing to do with Harrow, UK will be fine, and of course one player doesn't make a football team. That goes without saying.

Yenta's will be gossip.

Boom is a Wildcat. He's a young man with some personal issues affecting him right now. Why don't we all just stand behind/beside him and hope his personal issues clear up soon so he can return to being himself on the football field - or maybe even a better version of himself? I'm so glad my every move wasn't scrutinized in the public eye when I was his age. I stand behind Coach Stoops and Boom. Hopefully, it's all a distant memory very soon - whatever it is.

Well - it does turn out that Williams did not practice today (nor did he yday) so what Lemond said today was 100% accurate. I listened to the show and heard it.

So it's not a rumor. It's true.

Stoops also told the media a little bit ago that he's not sure Boom will play this Saturday either.

uh this was discussed a few posts up

When you are a star in high school that doesn't always carry over to college where one has to be part of a team. This been true of Cal's teams and is true of a player on our ever growing and competitive football program. I have no idea of Mr. Williams personal issue, but he has the ability to play on Sunday and contribute mightily to his college football team.
