Bolden's a stud...that's for sure. For some reason though, I think UK would be better off with Allen. The squad you guys are gonna put out there next year may be a bit too fast paced for Bolden. I think Allen would be able to better blend in with the rest of the roster whereas Bolden may slow the team some.

Allen also would give you guys a better rim protector and would take pressure off of your guards defensively. Bolden's primary advantage for the cats would be as a dependable low post scorer in a half court offense. Faster paced games, I believe that Allen would be the one to go with.

Regardless, it's an awesome spot you guys find yourselves in. Would love to still be in it for two McDonald's AA's this late in the game.

Generally, I agree, but I think Kentucky has ranked incredibly high in both transition offense and defense every year that Calipari has been at Kentucky. Having a couple of elite athletes/explosive guards in De'Aaron Fox and Malik Monk, and Bam Adebayo at the 4 (assuming UK gets Bolden) would be deadly in transition both ways, regardless of whether or not Bolden is on the floor.
I feel like, in the half court, Bolden's length would suffice (he's 6'10.5 with a 7'6 wingspan, so he'll get his share of blocks at the college level), but I agree that Allen will be the better shot blocker in college because of his athleticism, and his ever-so-slightly shorter length than Bolden (which is well, well above average, at 7'5.5)

Yeah, really. It just goes to show you neither guy really knew the bs they were spewing at that time. As weird as it might sound, i really don't blame those guys. I blame us fans for believing every word these "insiders" tell us about recruits or basketball in general. As bad as one guy was, you always had the other side mocking and pointing fingers while the guy they followed sucked just as bad as the guy they were talking ish about.

Same here - and another one I remember unfavorably is the Chris Duhon recruitment. That was back when Tubby still worked pretty hard at recruiting and he wanted Duhon bad. Seems like it was a time when we desperately needed an elite PG and couldn't get one. It was also our first encounter with K's smarmy recruiting style. He infamously complemented Duhon on having "beautiful eyes" or something like that.

With all that said, thank god Marc won't be making anymore money off of his UK basketball bs sources. I'm happy that guy is gone and is never heard from again.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna take a pass on believing that nonsense. Marc had a tiny following and almost zero credibility. How would him threatening to fight or ban people help the situation? That is the most absurd thing I have heard in my entire life. UK is very capable of handling the hiring of assistant coaches without needing to have a gnat run interference.

MM used me as a 'source' one time. Somewhere on my old macbook I have the screen shots of our conversations. Somehow he got my phone number and knew I worked for a prominent UK booster who has a jet UK often uses. It was during the time of hiring a coach right after BCG was let go. He kept wanting to get info on where my bosses jet was going and who was on it. I was like its definitely in Florida going after Donovan :joy:. Of course I was being "wrong on purpose".

Both were right at the same time. It was on the heels of Maggard being the one voice to never waiver on picking Teague to UK. He was riding high. Then he started attacking and threatening anyone who would suggest either Payne or Vargas would be at UK. Even though anyone with a google machine could figure out UK was going to land both.

To be fair... the Vargas thing was from not fully understanding the rules. At one time you had to sit out 2 years if you transferred within the conference...... and I remember him talking about that. Rules change so many times its hard to keep up with them all.

TJ Walker talking about Bolden on his radio show. Nothing all that great or earth shattering.

But, he said:

- he is hearing that Bolden will announce tomorrow during the Jordan game
- thinks Bolden's previous words and body language suggested he liked Duke more than UK a couple weeks ago
- UK keeping Allen communication alive but no strong push for him by UK
- thinks he is now leaning more UK than Duke
- Walker said Bolden wanted to commit to UK in the fall
- An insider on HOB (who has been wrong before but who does have connections) says Bolden will pick UK tomorrow
- If Walker was picking today he would say it's UK

Yes but the same question would have to be answered from Duke who already pushed one kid out . Pushing 2 kids out is way worse if Duke had to do that. My point being is I think Cal knows what is happening . IMO Lee stays in the draft . I doubt he gets drafted but he will not transfer he loves UK too much . Or Mulder leaves. One of the other as no one else would even think about IMO.
