Having to wait until UKs presser tomorrow is going to be nerve racking!

Is that like "raking" leaves? Or more like "raking" your nails over a chalk board?:D

@2Adulterers just stated in the PJ thread that he had heard from one of his contacts that's connected to the UK team managers that the cast was removed and that there was no pain and PJ's doing underwater rehab.

Hope he's right.
Hopefully the question will soon shift from Will he play to how much will he play and how effective will he be?

My four hopes for this weekend:

PJ plays for UK at 90+% strength.
Virginia Tech or LSU take down Duke.
Auburn takes down UNC.
UK takes down Auburn.

If those four things happen, I'm a happy, happy boy.
Just "happy, happy?" Understate much, SOS? [winking][laughing]

Well, it's already evolved from what you and a few others were inferring last week about his circle holding him out, so I guess the current narrative is trending in a different direction.
Not sure what you are referring to. I posted that I didn’t think there was a conspiracy or anything nefarious going on, but that Cal expected him to play and he didn’t and that the Washington’s were likely being extra cautious with a minor injury just to be safe. Seems reasonable.

if he does play he might have that little bird in his brain saying be careful don't injurer. I guess a couple days practice will take care of that notion.

Let's hope he is right this time. His track record isn't very good.

And your entire tone in the process was one wherein you basically questioned their motives as far as protecting PJ's draft stock (the "their" being his dad and potentially even Cal). It was actually pretty clear from your posts.

Here's a few of them. I stopped after four, because they basically all read with the same "PJ's not playing in order to protect his draft stock" implication.

He could play if he were allowed

I don’t think Cal has any control of PJs status.

Bogans played.

Sheppard played.

Different times

Because doing the opposite is an indictment on the entire brand that’s been built here. Can’t have that

I think from now on once a player shows up In the top 20 of a mock draft he should just shut it down. Lock it in while you can.

Damn. Somebody brought the receipts!

Lol you conveniently left out my summary post where I replied to others who thought Cal was protecting the Washington’s attempts to prevent PJ from playing. I do think PJ could have played last week based on what Cal said and PJs camp was holding him out out of being extra cautious.

Well, then you're displaying a duplicitous interaction with me today (at the least).

A.- I mentioned in my initial post to you "were inferring last week about his circle holding him out."
B.- You responded by saying you were "not sure what [I was] referring to."
C.- I quoted your posts directly that implicate Paul Washington as the clear target of your "he could play if he wanted to" theme.
D.- Now you've directly stated, "PJs camp was holding him out."

So if you are committed to position D., why did my point in position A. confuse you?

And to your first point, I don't have time to look at all the context of the dozens of posts you wrote last week regarding this issue. Your basic thesis is this: PJ's dad held him out to protect him from further injury and protect his draft value, and you also thought he could play, but that his dad wouldn't let him.

That's what I was clearly referring to in my initial post.

Wouldn't we all be. I would take 3 of those and UK takes down North Carolina

Even if there were an update today, why would anyone believe it at this point?

Again, the only accurate update will be when he checks into a game.

Exactly! We have heard from our own fans anywhere from, "he isn't hurt just protecting his stock in NBA" to " He has a broken bone and will not walk for weeks"

He's either in Wisconsin now or was yesterday.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - PJ Washington’s cast on his foot was removed yesterday, according to a source familiar with the situation.

This comes after Kentucky's top scorer and rebounder continues to recover from a foot sprain he suffered in the SEC Tournament.

Washington's status for Friday night’s Sweet 16 game with 3-seed Houston is still in doubt as of Wednesday morning. Washington was back in Wisconsin for the second time in a week to see a specialist.

We don’t know for sure who that specialist is, but Green Bay is the headquarters of Dr. Robert Anderson who former Packers Coach Mike McCarthy called “the best in the business” when it comes to foot and ankle injuries.

It is unknown whether Washington had another cast on, if he is in a walking boot or if he is cleared to practice.

The Wildcats leave for Kansas City Wednesday afternoon and will have their NCAA mandated media sessions Thursday afternoon.

So, from that report he could have had ANOTHER cast put on?

This whole situation has been so freakin unsettled!!!

I have to imagine that the guy in Wisconsin was the same specialist he saw last week. This is probably the return visit to see how the cast worked--or if it did.

Blessing in disguise to not get the South region in hindsight. Having an extra full day of rest and practice for this type of injury is absolutely crucial in terms of PJs effectiveness when he returns to the court.

It also potentially allows him to "ease" back into action against Houston before returning to normal in the Elite 8 (if we make it), although Cal didn't ease Travis back in as he played almost 30 mins against Bama.
