Theiro averages 23 min/game in 10 games played.
Edwards averages 22.4 min/game in 18 games played.
To suggest Adou is somehow boycotting games because he's pissed at Cal is down right stupid.
Have you watched him on the bench?
Very supportive of teammates haven't seen any bad body language from him
Adou is a player not a fan.
He's not going to think like a fan.
I guarantee you that he's not pissed at Cal and will not transfer.
Enough has been said on Edwards.
He played terrible but did not single handily lose the game tonight or any of the other games we lost.
Every player and coach had a role in tonight's loss.

Are you serious , Clark? Adou has had to bust his tail, WAY more than the other guys, just to get those mins per game. Meanwhile, Edwards essentially gives you nothing and can't be bothered to put more than minimum effort into the gym and STILL gets practically the same min average. He's able to play, but Cal "doesn't know why he didn't".

If you have inside info on the team then so be it.
If you are making those observations from your couch then it's just another opinion.

I dont see Thiero doing that.

And my comment last night was more due to Cal being the coach. We can add 3 Thiero types and it won't matter. Cincy fan is the king of the goobers though so not surprised he missed the obvious there.

One of the potential after effects of Big Z’s production during the Georgia game might be some dudes on the roster becoming even more me-focused. It’s one of the inherit gold-standard problems with a player-first program.

Probably because it’s all their coach cares and/or talks about. Just like speaking on Reed’s PT, he immediately cited his draft projections. Lmao Cal is a tool! A tool that can’t coach a lick.

I didn't say he quit.

I suggested he doesn't want to sit behind Edwards.

Both can be true. He's a competitive athlete. He has a pro future, whether it's NBA or overseas playing ball. You think he -- and his teammates -- don't see what we all see regarding Edwards?

If this is about Thiero this is red alert. You can't lose a team like this, just because you want to give Edwards his NBA chance. If Thiero is choosing to sit at this point and not injure his back, then we have serious problems.

But.. it's not like Thiero wasn't getting minutes. So is this about him? Is Cal just taking a chance to troll?

His minutes did take a nose dive the last three games he played.

PENN - 15
UNC -16 (and made crucial defensive plays)
LOU - 13

He was hurt against PENN and LOU - but should have played more than 16 against UNC. Still played more than Edwards in that one though.

Has it not occurred to anyone on this board that Thiero isn't playing because they're considering a medical redshirt this season? I don't think it's a coincidence that he's played 10 of 31 scheduled games - if you play over 1/3 of games (i.e., 11 games), you can't get a medical redshirt. As long as they're confident they can make a case for a season-ending injury, it would made perfect sense with the loaded roster they have this year.

EDIT: And rather than announce he's out for the season, they're keeping him in reserve just in case somebody gets injured and he's needed.

It has been discussed.

But Thiero doesn’t need four years. If he gets 25-30mpg next year, he’ll be drafted after the season.

He’s transferring. Another example of Cal proving that players>>>>>Kentucky. No room for minutes, or at least that’s what CCC believes, so he’s forcing him out to get minutes elsewhere.

I'd have to imagine if Thiero came back now, he'd get a lot of Edwards' shrinking minutes these last few weeks.

Just a really gross quote. I wonder how the folks that were chastising us last week for questioning what was going on and making fun of our “conspiracy theories” feel about this one. Cal did no one any favors with that quote. He says that’s somebody’s kid, right? If I’m Thiero’s dad after that I am PISSED.

It might not be outlandish, but he outplayed Livingston in the blue/white game last year, and then the same thing again this year with Edwards. I’m not saying it’s all about that one game, but I would imagine that he knows exactly what he’s been doing to Edwards in practices both before the season began and onward.

I really don’t want him to bail, but I can’t blame him either. He’s trying to get the NBA just like all the other guys and if I were him I wouldn’t have faith that Cal is going to give me the minutes I need to make that happen.

I can find no rational explanation for Cal making these statements. They make no sense. If there is a problem with the kid and him,how does what he said help it. Does ANYONE believe the coach at the University of Kentucky doesn't know why one of his players isn't playing,so what the he'll is he trying to accomplish here. Trolling the fan base? as good an explanation as any. I am so ready for the circus to leave town

Assuming all this is true, and it's not just Thiero being cautious with his own injury.. then this is what you'd call a coach losing the locker room. When that happen you have to just part ways. The Bucks did it with their HC this week.. once the players are checking out, you can't save the team and its over.

Again, there's a chance to turn it around, but we're on the ledge right now

The biggest tragedy will be that Cal could have had both. He just had to not favor the 1AD TOO much, and explain that 20mpg will still get you drafted. He had this all in front of him

At least one of those theories is correct. Maybe Cal could clarify things lol. Thiero isn't playing, but it's not because he's hurt.

The CJ ran an article today and these are quotes from Adou in the offseason, regarding how he comsidering transferring. Reading these, it’s perfectly understandable why he might be pissed off at Cal. He accepted the challenge of these incoming recruits and has thoroughly outplayed Edwards. And Cal brought in Tre as a late addition (and Tre is now playing the 4).

"But then I realized, if I transfer, it looks like I'm scared of the freshmen coming in," he told The Courier Journal at the team's media day Oct. 25. "Like I'm quitting and giving up on myself. Thinking like, 'I'm not good enough to be here.'

"So I took it upon myself and said, 'No, I'm gonna stay. I'm going to improve as a player and go and play as hard as I can every game.'"
