55-year old streaming

No earth-shattering post here. Just that I have managed to get every game this year, usually by the first TV timeout. And the anxiety is turned to 11 ever time!. 😂

But no matter what mental notes I take or how many times I say “yes! I get it now!” I still don’t get it. I can’t freaking WAIT until streaming season is over and I can just turn my TV to an actual channel.

Historically bad offense

Just going to leave a few tweets that express how truly awful the offense was this year. We’re in year 12 guys, there’s no fixing it, there’s no Stoops deserves another year, this is horrendous and completely unacceptable. Miss me with the buyout talk too. The athletic department needs to pony up and figure out a way that Saturday is Stoop’s last game here

Basketball INSTANT ANALYSIS: Cats cruise against Bucknell behind Brea's barrage

You could see Kentucky's size advantage early in the game. Kentucky came out strong grabbing offensive rebounds and getting most of the looks they wanted. You don't see too many teams dominate the offensive glass like Kentucky did in the first half. However, they didn't get a lot of second chance points out of it.

Kentucky wasn't hot from outside early but Koby Brea knocked down some outside shots. The Cats again looked unselfish. Bucknell didn't shoot well but Noah Williamson going 0/6 played a role in their offensive struggles.

One of the things I like with this team is the relentless energy. You get that from Williams and Carr but with the backcourt's depth you have Butler hounding the ball or Kriisa attacking the open court all the time.

Shot selection has been a real strength for this team and you have to figure having so many experienced players and a good system is a part of it. They share the ball but also don't pass up good looks.

Koby Brea made it look absolutely effortless today.

Pope's press conferences ... such a breath of fresh air.

Watching his press conferences is pure joy and satisfaction compared to the previous coach. He's really one of us ... one of BBN ... and he's handling these press conferences exactly as we want them to be handled. It's like he's been given the keys to a Ferrari that all of BBN is going to enjoy. And he is taking time to explain to us how he's going to take care of the Ferrari ... and also educating us on how he's going to drive the Ferrari so that we can enjoy the ride with him.

Okay ... enough of the Ferrari analogy ... but I think you know what I'm getting at. He's explaining how he's going to use analytics and so on to make his decisions so that we all understand it and can enjoy it too. He's educating us on what his philosophies are and why they're significant so we can better understand what he's doing. He's letting us in on why these players fit so well and what they do so well ... so that we're invested in them and can enjoy watching them fight (and win) for BBN.

It's just a beautiful thing. Pope just 'gets it' on every level.

Baseball player "oddballs" ; colorful stories to get some WS/baseball flavor up in here.

I'll start with one of the most enigmatic players that I grew up watching George Hendrick:

Joggin' George/Silent George/Captain Easy/Pants On The Ground (because, for some reason, he didn't want anyone to see his socks, LOL, which started a trend that persists to this day.)

After the final out of the 1982 WS, which the Cardinals won; Hendrick jogged off the field, while his teammates were celebrating, out of the clubhouse, and got straight into a car that he had arranged earlier, and left; w/o even changing out of his uniform. 😆 😆

When he played in HS, sometimes he'd forget his uniform, borrow a jersey and play in jeans. When his team was up, but he didn't anticipate getting an at bat that inning, instead of going back to the dugout, he'd just walk over into foul territory (he played RF), and just lay down and take a nap. 😆
