Thank you Tubby for knowing when to step away

This whole mess makes me respect Tubby even more as a person than I already did. At least Tubby knew he wasn't getting the job done and decided to step away before UK was forced to do something they didn't want to do. We all know this is not going to end well with Cal. If he could've fixed it, he would have 3 years ago. Either he is incompetent or lazy or both. Either way he's gotta go.

Spoiler Alert:

Moving forward:

In the next 4 or 5 weeks - 10 players will be gone.

In about 4 or 5 months - Whispers about how the new guys are acclimating well and a lot of exciting potential being shown in Summer workouts

In about 7 months - Midnight Madness

In about 7.5 months - Loss to Michigan State or Duke in the Champions Classic

In about 9 months - Win over Louisville to make you feel good

In about 11 months - An inexcusable loss to Ole Miss drops UK to 18-9

In about 12 months - A R32 loss to Virginia

In about 12 months and 1 day - A discussion about being able to pay out a $25 million buyout instead of $33 million.

I have been a Kentucky Fan since 1975....

I live in Madison,In and listened to Cawood on 84WHAS when I was a young pup. I have lived and died the Cats ever since we whipped those undefeated Hoosiers in Dayton arena in 75. Let me tell you folks this. If those one and done former players who play in the NBA say one bad word about the program because we show Cal the door. They can go screw themselves. We don't need em. They used us to nth degree and got what they wanted. Now it's time we go get the Final Fours and Championships we deserve. If they don't like it. So be it! Yes, they got the priviledge to wear the jersey for a year. But Cal got it wrong when he instilled in them players first. The fact is the fans come first when it comes to Kentucky Mens Basketball not those greedy selfish players who never cared for us to begin with. So go cry me a river one and dones. I was done with you when you left after your first year and forgot you ever played for us to begin with.

Abraham Lincoln on the Kentucky coaching dilemma...

After watching the Army of the Potomac endure yet another crushing defeat at the hands of Robert E. Lee's Confederate Army at Fredericksburg, in December, 1862, the cabinet, Congress and the entire Northern population was pressuring Lincoln to appoint a new commander -- it didn't matter who, just get a new guy in charge.

"Anybody will do for you, but I need SOMEBODY," Lincoln told his cabinet.

Unfortunately, it'd be at least two years before "somebody" - in the person of Ulysses Grant - emerged. So he appointed Major Gen. Joseph Hooker, who seemed like the best of the "anybodies" available to head the Union's eastern army...and Hooker promptly got his troops demolished and routed at Chancellorsville.

Based on the dozens of 'suggestions' on this site in recent days, anybody will do for most fans desperate to see Calipari replaced. But Kentucky needs SOMEBODY. And the very few people who would be a very safe bet to turn things around -- Donovan, Brad Stevens, Hurley, Jay Wright -- aren't coming.

I suspect Mitch is becoming aware that he won't get the SOMEBODY he needs. And that just hiring ANYBODY -- Drew, Pearl, Lloyd, Oats, Musselman -- is the fast road to disaster.

That's why I'm pretty confident every tick of the clock brings us closer to Calipari returning for at least another year, probably with a public endorsement so he isn't seen as a lame duck by recruits. Mitch has no shot at the "sombebody" that would allow him to pull the trigger.

Let’s Change It Up…

OK…we know what we’re all thinking and we all have our thoughts what may or may not happen or who will be UK’s next coach, including me…so let’s take a break in the madness of this crazy offseason ahead of us diehard fans…so here it goes:

What was your 1st UK game that you ever remembered watching…I’ll go 1st:

11/26/1983 vs UL against Bowie, Turpin, Walker, Master, and Beal.

Won 65 - 44

Just wanted to say thanks to my internet friends

Although this site can be full of dumb takes, some of which have been mine, this board has kept me entertained since my first post in 2009. Of course it was under a different user back then (dormant email forced me to change it up).

I remember it well - posted that Patterson was coming back and Meeks was not. I was slammed for being a troll. I had a great source……a cute little brown haired sorority girl who was very keen to the situation. All good.

Second week I was here I bashed @Bkocats for attempting to be the board mother, as she was calling me out for being a bitch. I was. She was right. I apologized, and now I truly value her here.

I miss @Cindog28

I remember posters such as @crownmewilma, @DUNNSTILLFREENALIVE. @BlackLabelWildcat, @Wall2Boogie

Keep wondering where @wildcatdonf hides?

Where is John Wall? Terrance Jones? @UNCfaninKY and his fake girl? Fast Paste? Escape Goat? Goody Tissues? Pre-Madonnas? Hives me the Chills? The Door? Which thread was best?

Keep up the great work Cats Paw.

My Takeaway(Not that anyone cares)

If the athletics department listened to that and they still believe cal is the guy and that we can give him this year they're in for a rude awakening. Not sure about you guys, but nothing he said made me feel like I can justify giving him one more year. He said the same things as always, and admitted he didn't do his job when it came to scouting teams. What else must he do for us to fire him?

Small update from MJ

Everything he said below….

As I Said on the the Twitter space, there are probably 2-3 people involved and they aren't talking.

- The meeting between Calipari and Mitch is going on today (maybe even right now). The Herald Leader is reporting that Calipari will be on his show at 6 pm. That is wild to me considering that I don't think the situation will be resolved that point but I know I will be listening.

- I get the sense from a number of people that the biggest issue is this...there is a worry about what happens if they let Calipari go and he goes somewhere else and kills it. What then? I get that fear but ultimately if the relationship is bad you do what you have to do. But the fear of "Cal. 2.0" at another school is a concern that I know Mitch and others have.

- I feel confident in what I said last night. Calipari will either not be the coach here next year or he will be told he can't operate as an independent until not with oversight by the Athletics Department anymore. It is unclear to me if Cal would accept option 2.

Now we all wait.....

I swear to God

We have the most gullible fan base in the entire countr. Already on X “Cal said 1 or 2 PG’s might return” “Cal said this, so let’s go” etc etc….

Calipari has given the same spill he just have for the last 5 years. Nothing but lies, the used car sales man is once again trying to fool the fan base. I will not fall for it….. have fun believing anything that man says
