This is the kind of game you will get in the NCAA Tournament. A tough half court game. If you can only play one on one while playing mediocre defense, you'll struggle to get out of the first weekend. Every single game we see wide open 3's by our opponents and we struggle to get open for ours against good defense. I've never seen a coach be this pitiful at teaching half court offense. It's been that way pretty much his whole time here.

This dribble drive offense just doesn't work well anymore. Plus it looks like we aren't even practicing defense with how bad we look. Players are getting lost and leaving guys wide open. Dillingham leaving the guy wide open in the paint while rushing out to the perimeter on the inbounds play is a prime example. All of the feel good moments from the first 3/4 of the Georgia game are a distant memory. It's been 50 straight minutes of garbage. Ten loss Cal and an early departure is inevitable with the games we have coming.

Something every year! Beginning of the year we play loose and free until Cal starts yelling and subbing when players don't play to his standards. Young players don't play free when they are afraid of Cals wrath. He has lost touch.

Give me a freaking break.

Game of their century, as usual. It will be a disgustingly toxic environment vs an overly physical team. As the world turns...

We'll somehow be having to wear our white jerseys in 3 different road games before February. Nobody else in the SEC has to deal with this, or the typically slanted conference schedule. Go win.

what is going on

…..when our coach gets EJECTED.

We started playing, isolation ball, and forgot to share the basketball with our teammates. We completely went against everything that’s made us successful this year. Tennessee will beat us by 30 if we do that against them.

33-25 halftime.

Friends: I hope that this will be my only post in the wake of the debacle that is now happening in Columbia, SC. At this moment, the Calipari-led U.K. Wildcats are down 17 points to South Carolina, with a little over 5 minutes to play in the game.

I typed this post before the game started. Then I decided not to post it ... Calipari is a target that's just too easy ! But ... realizing (as I do now) that I might wish I had gone ahead and put up this post before the game, I copied the draft of the post and saved it as a MS Word document. I'm glad I saved it. Here's what I wrote as the post that I started to put up before the game, but didn't:

I'm being overwhelmed by a wave of optimism, with respect to the South Carolina game, in particular, and with respect to the remaining season, the SEC Tournament, and the NCAA Tournament. But such waves of optimism, even as short as most of them have been in the past decade, have invariably deepened the inevitable crash of disappointment. These waves of optimism are just not good for me. Would someone please remind me who is sitting in the head coach's chair !

Ah yes ... suffering the disappointments at the hands of John Vincent Calipari ... it's just the lot of us U.K. fans who remember better days -- infinitely better days !

Trusting a John calipari coached team in the year of our lord 2024 is a fools errand.

I think this was everyone’s biggest fear and it’s being realized. Thess kids have got to decide to play defense. We can fight about zone vs man all
Day but it’s moot. This is about heart and effort.

Losing to a middle of the road A&M and getting blown out by USC jr. Auburn and UT are far better defensive and offensive teams than USC and will drill the Cats. The team has been living on fool’s gold, but yet Cal will get a pass. Maybe a 4th-5th place SEC finish. Round of 32. Pathetic and disappointing. It is all on Cal but you Cal boys keep tooting his horn. 80% of the fans want him gone.

How can you change a foul call that's the second game "road games" that we got screwed!

The kid doesn’t have the first clue about playing the point. He actually makes the players around him worse. They stand around and watch him miss layups.

His defense is also nonexistent.

…..and they will beat you.

This team will lose many more road games and the best we can hope for is the Sweet 16 where we lose to the 1 seed.

I would love for all of you Cal defenders to please try and defend that one.

The 3 pt defense might be the worst I’ve ever seen! This team for as great as we usually are offensively IS ALWAYS TERRIBLE DEFENSIVELY. It’s honestly embarrassing af and I’m about sick of it! Defense is a whole lot about giving a shit and EFFORT! I see ZERO of that from this team! This right here is how you get your asses sent back home first weekend of the tournament. I’m going to bed!
