TV

Got the stream to work last night. The stream needs to see a urologist, because it was weak. Constantly freezing, and losing audio. I'm hardwired with ATT fiber, so don't go there.
Your internet connection isn't the only variable, though. There's hardware and software that bandwidth passes through.

It was perfectly fine on my end - good picture, never froze, audio was fine. And my TV isn't hard wired. And I'm sure my wife was watching a bunch of videos on the couch next to me while not paying attention to the game.

Who else thinks Oweh and Brea need to be the go-to guys?

Why?

I've seen nothing from Noah to warrant more minutes. He's not strong enough to contribute yet and probably should be redshirted.

This. I'd love to hear the justification of why. Chandler actually showed some things last night. He clearly has more potential and is way better than Noah at this point.

Any UFC fans here?

Noone is better than jones. Noone. Its possible noone ever will be.

Its mma and anything can happen on a given night but still... that man is incredible.

I really like aspinall but jones is just another level.

This is what is so frustrating. People criticizing Jones for sitting out Ngannou's run at HW and then swooping in to fight Gane (who was thoroughly out wrestled by Ngannou with two blown out knees) and Stipe (who hasn't fought in four years, is 42 years old and was obliterated when he last fought) aren't saying Jones is any less special than he was 8 years ago, we're saying he's doing the exact opposite of what veterans did for him when he was 23 years old.

If he's on another level from Tom and Francis, why isn't he fighting them? Why did he spend years saying all he had to do was get over the fear of "getting knocked out cold" by Francis to get in the octagon? Why downplay the literal interim champion of your division who has more wins in the division and has spent less time in the cage in his last 7 fights than you did in your most recent fight against a mostly retired firefighter?

Jon is talking about legacy so much that it's actually hurting his legacy now. He made a living beating up small LHW's that were usually much older than him and, when he finally started fighting actual LHW's, he struggled to be as dominant (and lost vs. Reyes).

Jon Jones is a great MMA fighter who has been spoon fed everything in the world by Dana White (venue changes for pissing hot, the ability to pick who and when he fights, even this most recent event went back to the old UFC gloves because Jon didn't like the new ones). He's also a terrible human being outside of the octagon in spite of spending an entire interview ducking the Tom Aspinall question to discuss his love of America and Jesus Christ.

I'm not saying Tom beats Jon, manhandles him or any of the other things a lot of newer UFC fans would say. But I am saying that Jones not fighting Tom is a bigger indictment of Jon than it is of Tom.

You have to imagine Brea will regress to the mean at some point, which is *checks notes* 44.7%. I'll take it.

I don't know much about Andrew Carr's previous experience, but he seems to be having the time of his life. Very Mark-Pope-as-a-player-esque attitude and joy, minus a few skills. Winning will do that to a fella, I suppose.

POLITICAL THREAD

Those loons fully intend on transforming California into a third world country.

I'm 100% for it. I saw a similar headline about allowing illegals in, and I practically cheered. This is what I've been talking about: let's get a few Blue states/cities where they can practice all that they preach, and therefore get to deal with good (very little) and the bad (a lot). All the people scared of Trump can move there and congregate together. California can be 100% blue and allow the rest of the 49 states to return to normal (most of them, at least).

Pope wants more ….

Loved what Pope said about Carr. Showed up and did the things that don't show up in the box score this game.
People overlook what Jaxon does on the other end of the court . He has been absolutely stellar on the defensive end and also the boards. Brea ,who would ever think , this kid can flat out rebound . I like kids that play hard on both sides of the ball.😀

Why is Moderna not under investigation?

I'm not an expert but let me help you out:
  • Moderna was focused on developing mRNA vaccines
  • mRNA appeared to be the best bet in terms a vaccine for COVID
  • Moderna was granted an emergency waiver to bring their vaccine to the market for COVID
  • Moderna's vaccine seemed to be a very effective approach for stopping, I mean preventing, I mean lessening the effects of COVID-19 with no, I mean some, side effects.
  • Nobody wants COVID vaccines anymore because of what I wrote above
  • They have a few other products, but nothing to the scale of their COVID vaccine
Question has been answered. Lock the thread before the shit show begins.

Stoops is spiraling now...

No amount of money in the world is going to make a Mark Stoops team/program :

1.) Commit fewer dumb penalties
2.) Execute in the middle 8 (and especially the last two of the first half)
3.) Develop a QB that has been in our program for more than 2 years
4.) Maintain an OC and a general offensive philosophy
5.) Establish a good locker room culture (we had this when Schlarman was coaching)
6.) Be efficient in our special teams game
7.) Not play down to the level of competition
8.) Win consistently against teams of similar strength and show up for big games (especially UT)
9.) Instill actual discipline and develop leaders within the team (we had this when Schlarman/Sumrall were here)

So I suppose the situation is more like Cal than I realized. Mark had it all when he had the best players (Allen/Terry/Benny, etc.) and some of his best coaches (Sumrall, Schlarman and 1st go round Wolford). But now that all of that is gone, it's suddenly a money issue when we have gotten big name transfers, doled out millions for a sub par QB and kept our big name guys from the funds we were able to raise.

If anyone should pony up, it's the guy making 9 million a year for a 1 million a year level product.
