Arkansas…

I check probably once every few weeks as someone who has a ubiquitous rivals sub.

You won’t believe me, but I think yall are setting yourselves up for a big letdown. Duke had a historically bad shooting night with a 7 man rotation and led for 95% of the game. While they’re good, no doubt, they’re also incredibly young and you caught them at probably their worst.

You guys can be very good, but you have two massive holes: center and pg. But, I know you all will take this in stride.
We led the first 10 minutes of the game lmfao. Right there you 95% claim breaks down. Unless you can’t math. Williams and Garrison are not massive holes. If you had our PG you guys would be way better. Butler is a better PG than anyone on Arkansas. I guess we could hope for DJ Wagner and his 7 points on 30% shooting in 36 minutes a game.

I mean Fland is a great player, but he’s not a pure PG. He has to score for you to have a chance. I’d take our front court over yours all day. Let’s look at this logically. Arkansas has 4 good players max. Davis, Aidoo, Thiero, and Fland. Big Z can be counted on about 30% of the year. Half the team is already injured. Davis looks nothing like the player he is supposed to be. You have 2 rotation guys and a starter who can’t hit the broad side of a barn. Knox is shooting 17%, Richmond isn’t close to be a scorer, and Wagner is just broken.

If you don’t believe anything we say remember this. No matter how bad Wagner is, pencil him in for 35 minutes a game. He will never leave the court. Cal will gaslight you all year about how close he is and how they need him to win in March! The time he supposedly prepares for that never comes. Enjoy the injuries. Also we already have a better win than you guys will have all year hahahahaha.

If you have time to look beyond the massive hole from your coach down, I’m not sure I can take your other thoughts seriously.

Is the portal the new way?

Pope is doing what no one thought was possible: start a roster with 12 brand new players and turn them into a top 10 team in less than 7 months.

It's never been done before in the history of college basketball.
Exactly. A coat like Pope who can develop latent abilities can make very good use of the maturity that players from the portal possess..

Arkansas…

You guys might to okay but you have one massive hole: Head coach. He’s fat. He’s washed up. He’s clearly faking enthusiasm. He was embarrassed by being forced out of the sport’s prestige program to a much lesser job. And he seems incapable of adapting to the game as it must be played today. By March he’ll be an emotional basket case, and will once again choke to a mid-major.
What everyone fails to understand (UK fans and Arky fans) is that Cal doesn’t care what the fans think about him. He only cares about what his former, current, and future players think about him.

Cal only cares about players and those players only care about getting to the league.

As I told someone a few months ago, you are just playing chess with a pigeon. He will just flutter his wings and knock down all the pieces, crap on the board and then tell everyone how he won.
Oh so this poor man is truly delusional and has cycles like this all the time? Break the cycle, Dion. I think he must be unhappy to want to mess with others happiness.. he's a wuss. Best ignore him its cluttering the board and he's too chicken to just come see for himself.

Or too pigeon at least.
See I had a pigeon problem in the barn had to get me some fake owls his feathers would fly taking off outta here after he saw that lol

Is the portal the new way?

Seeing how Coach Pope constructed a quality team by tapping into the transfer portal, it makes me wonder. Is the portal the best place to recruit in this era of NCAA basketball? It seems to me that a Coach who can developed untapped ability and has a good eye can make good use of the maturity that experienced players demonstrate. Too often one sees blue chip players come out of high school and fail to adjust to the college game. Many of them leave for the NBA after one year based on their potential and don't hit their stride until three or four years into the pro ranks. Out of necessity, Coach Pope had to look to the transfer portal to construct a competitive team from scratch. In doing so, I think he may have inadvertently happened upon the recipe for consistently producing competitive teams. But like I said, a Coach has to have the ability to take those players and develop them into being much better than they were when he found them. It seems like Coach Pope is very good at that. I think this season will make him continue to look to the portal to fill many of the gaps in his upcoming rosters. The "one and done" approach to putting a team together it very hit or miss--with a lot of misses.

I'm quiet until somebody pisses me off then I probably take things too far.
I'm an introvert believe it or not dont kick in the door waving Rambo Trump flags hollering if you don't like mer'ca you can GET OUT. You just make presumptive assumptions that's all. In public I'm friendly and speak and IF you ever ate there beside me I probably even held the door for you on the way out. I'm a gentleman until given reason not to be.

We appreciate the constructive criticism from our so far undefeated season, and we’re not really setting ourselves up for too big a letdown. We’re just happy we finally won at the champions classic for the first time in 5 years! And first time we managed to beat Duke in 10 years! Just finally winning again is great. However this thread isn’t about UKs awesome season so far, it’s about how god awful and terrible Arkansas has been.

The Journey - Champion's Classic

Are you kidding me with that halftime talk Pope gave? Absolutely unreal. Dude just walks in and breaks down the minutia of everything and his brain works so fast it’s hard just to keep pace with him.

Then he tells the team EXACTLY what they are going to do to fix it - BUT - the team is so damn well coached THEY ALREADY KNOW.

Just unreal. We ended up with the perfect coach for Kentucky basketball.

Got Dion in it's name, just figured it liked Celine.... Was being nicer, kinder, and gentler. (Tried to carry on a decent conversation with it once when I started posting here again but Celine changes things slightly versus straight typing.) I don't play that. (I block that.) Since a woman is more apt to act like it does, I figured calling it Celine would be more honest for it and was only trying to help it. (Heck, It may not know what it is... Seriously trying to cut it's confusion...)

HAHAHAHAHA!
