Boley looked good

He did look good. I was very pleased and especially surprised by his athleticism.

I think brock gets a bad rap on this game because he didn't practice all week, and maybe not for two weeks. Thats significant. By the same token though, boley took all first team reps, which showed.

I am very critical of bush and especially his qb handling. Other than the god awful rotating qbs, the other major red flag concept he loves for brock is the max protect, play action, super slow mo/delayed full reverse roll out into a really deep drop.

That takes so freaking long to develop its insane. Plus the qb turns his back to the d twice. Its insanity to think anyone would try this vs an sec d. Hell even if it all worked and the mutant sec dl didn't win a matchup, QB still has to complete a 60+ yard throw in air because wrs were in routes for 4-5 seconds.

Maybe that works when you have a noticable talent advantage but it should never even be attempted otherwise. Especially not in the sec.

Mark pope is figuring out how to get the most out of Brandon Garrison

By getting his legs, you still see him get knocked off balance by small bumps on defense, trip on his own feet. He is way better than he has shown so far. I would say by SEC Play he will be pushing, due to his driving, shot making and such. Garrison will be pushing for starter by SEC play but will continue to come off the bench. I think we are a legit 10 deep team and if needed (foul trouble or small injury during a game) could bring in Noah at the 2-3 or Perry at the 1-2 if needed for a game or two.

I think the main thing holding Chandler back is he clearly isn't confident with the ball in his hands, and I think it's mostly his ball-handling is lacking a little. He has made a couple of drives so far in games, but from my memory (which admittedly may be wrong), those were more straight line drives but nothing that required significant change of direction.

Does he have a good cross-over or spin move with the ball in his hands? I'm not sure, but I don't remember his showing anything like that yet

That does not sound right, I'd be interested for you to try it again.

I agree. I tried again today. Under settings, I am signed in with my YouTube tv account on the ESPN app. Whenever I try to play SEC network plus content I get “Unable to play Video” You are not authorized to view this content”

Andrew Carr Collects First SEC Player of the Week Honors The grad transfer led the Cats with 17 points in upset win over Duke

LEXINGTON, Ky. – After leading Kentucky with 17 points in a come-from-behind upset over No. 6 Duke, UK forward Andrew Carr was declared the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

Carr set season highs in both points (17) and rebounds (6), while also adding three assists and a blocked shot as Kentucky erased a nine-point halftime deficit to upend the Blue Devils, 77-72, in the Champions Classic this past Tuesday. It was the largest halftime deficit overcome by the Wildcats since March 7, 2020 when UK rallied from 10 down at the half to beat Florida.

The West Chester, Pennsylvania native made a big impact down the stretch for the Kentucky, beginning with an “and one” with 3:57 to go which tied the game at 67 and pulled UK even for the first time since there was 8:23 on the clock in the first half. Carr then assisted on an Otega Oweh layup that gave the Cats a 69-67 lead, its first advantage since holding a 24-23 edge. After Duke reclaimed the lead 70-69, Carr converted another traditional 3-point play, hitting a layup plus a foul shot to put Kentucky in front 72-70. UK would not trail the rest of the way en route to the victory.

Carr’s 17 points came on an efficient 5-of-8 performance from the field and included two made 3s on just three attempts. The transfer has scored in double-figures in all three games this season and is averaging 13.0 points per game while shooting 68.4 percent.

This week’s award is the first SEC weekly honor for Kentucky on the young season. Carr had previously been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week while at Wake Forest in January of 2023.

Kentucky is back at Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center to face Lipscomb Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The game can be seen on SECN+.

Field of 68 Rob Dauster: Duke would have won the game if…….

I'll add: We didn't play a perfect game. It's not like we played perfect and they were bad.

There are a ton of "If's" that can go both ways.

Jaxon Robinson scores 10 points: We win by a lot.
We make more free throws: We win by a lot.
In the 2nd half, we did a great job vs their pick and roll. If we played it the same way in the 1st half, we win by a lot.

If Maluach plays the 2nd half and Robinson still gives us nothing, they win.
If Flagg doesn't turn it over on back to back possessioins, they win.
If Flagg rebounds that missed free throw, maybe they force overtime and win it.

If a frog had wings, it wouldn't bump it's arse when it jumped

Slightly OT: outrageous prices at sporting events.

Unless Giada DeLaurentis is hand making those wings and pizza in the VIP box that's absolutely highway robbery.
Even then if you find a properly trained cook there isn’t much you can do different to make food worth the outrageous cost of some restaurants with celeb chefs. I really don’t care if my food has gold shavings in it and the other crazy stuff they do lol.
