Absolute Masterclass in adjustments at halftime. Specifically on defense which had Duke uncomfortable the entire 2nd half after they looked pretty dominant in the first. When they did get shots it was always over someone and as a team we did much better not allowing offensive rebounds. We made some tweaks but didn't decorate from the overall gameplan.
It was clear Dukes entire roster had been scouted properly by how we played them to their weak hand when they'd drive and how we already had shooters crowded by the time they'd to awfully difficult on him. Ultimately leading to the two turnovers that sealed the game for us(Thanks Ortega and Amari).
It's so refreshing to see teams actually come out easy to defend their opponent. Knowing what their strengths and weaknesses are, and doing our best to exploit that. It really does feel like night and day. Love the advanced analytics I think they're really into something with that data. The more data you've got the more prepared you can be. Then when we looked out of sorts he kinda hit the reset button, identified what we needed to do to make the offense work, made sure the players understood, and we started to fight back ultimately erasing a double digit lead to beat much higher ranked team with the #1 pick.
Great job to Pope and staff. That's how you coach some basketball. 🎉🤩
