I mean no ill will towards BVG. He plays tough, isn't a distraction and wants to win, but he just isn't cut out to start in the SEC. He completely lacks the ability to read defenses pre-snap (which is likely caused by our slow ass pace only giving him 5 seconds to look around), throws almost exclusively to Key and misses almost all of the short to intermediate passes with 0 touch.

I hope he does well elsewhere and I hope the money we spent on him goes to two 3 year starters at Tackle.
He will. At Stephen F. Austin or some place like that.

Hopefully, he takes Piglet with him.

Can we control the LOS vs UofL?

Not sure you saw the game the same way Louisville gained 403 yards and controlled the ball
If not for 2 bizarre fumbles after long gains we don’t win
UofL QB will dice our pathetic defense to part
No pass rush and playing soft will not work
Are only hope is Boley getting hot
I'm afraid you're correct. They certainly won't let up on the gas and go 4 corners if they have a lead. They'd love to bury us and we're more than capable of coming out flat and mailing in another uninspired performance to lose by 21+.

POLITICAL THREAD

The problem about DOGE is that we already have something that is supposed to reduce excessive spending, THE GAO. Why not just appoint them to this?
I see your point. However, 1) obviously, the GAO is NOT doing anything about excessive spending, 2) I suspect that many at the GAO are lifetime government employees who could care less about cutting spending, 3) I was under the impression that the GAO kept records, scored potential bills for spending, etc, but was not a watchdog organization (I may be mistaken).

Getting Elon and Vivek, one outsider and, arguably, two, to head up this initiative without any concern about being elected or, in Elon's case, about hurting themselves financially will allow them to do what is necessary rather than do as little as possible to not rock the boat. JMHO

So he’s not just going to just voluntarily surrender tens of millions of dollars?

Gonna need the wcc Common Sense Smell Test on this one. Sounds fishy.
COUNTERPOINT: I'd take a serious haircut to get paid to *NOT* work. It isn't stupid to think that Stoops would give UK some discount to, you know, get paid without having to show up.

* The Jackson State game is well worth watching if you missed it. Just pure fun the whole game.

* Did I miss where Wimsatt suddenly left the team or something? Why is this a BVG v. Boley debate? BVG is clearly better than Wimsatt (maybe even as a rusher) but he's not *THAT* much better. I don't know the money involved, but it wouldn't be unreasonable to think that whatever we are paying BVG may be better spent on an O-line and just roll with Wimsatt and Boley next year.

Cal's honeymoon at Arkansas is already over

Mitch has made several mistakes, he hired BCG, he bit on Cal's UCLA leverage and gave him a fat contract with an impossible buyout and he bit on aTm's leverage and gave Stoops an impossible buyout.

Those last 2 put the university in a really bad spot and giving Cal that one sided contract is some of the reason Cal is who he is. It fed his ego and he knew he had UK by the balls. We just witnessed the worst side of Cal the last few years, now Arkansas is gonna see it.

Cal knew UK couldn't fire him, so he could do whatever the hell he wanted and he did just that.

He wanted UK badly in 07 when BCG was hired, he finally got the job in 09 and I'm sure he had SOME great intentions, but I don't think he ever had UK's best interest in mind, I think it was always about him and the NBA. Looking back on it now, he never regretted his "greatest night in UK history" comment. That guy really has a hard on for the NBA.
He gave Stoops the big contract 2 years ago after we got smoked by Vandy on our home field. Regardless of when, it was a stupid move.

I don't have a huge issue with the timing or the money. I do have an issue with someone that close to the program not knowing robic was the real genius and trying the contract to them staying together.

Want to know how stubborn cal is? Hes willing to let his legacy go down in flames rather than try to correct whatever went wrong there.
