Injuries would be my guess.
62 here but I can relate. So many games under Pitino were not will we win but rather by how much. There were over by halftime. What you witnessed last night was a glimpse of UK basketball under Rick Pitino. Mark Pope has that DNA in his coaching blood.
How many times did we play teams with superior talent under Pitino, and run, run, run, press, trap, foul, body them up, and harass them until you watch their legs give out the last 5 minutes of the game, and then we blow by them and finish strong to win the game.
THAT basketball is what most of us old timers have been clamoring for since the day Pitino left for Boston. Now, it appears that Pope will give it to us once again. I only wish I was 45 again instead of 75. Going to be some fun years for you younger fans if you will hang in there with Mark Pope.
He lives and breathes UK basketball just like the passionate UK fans. Why? Because Mark Pope is a UK fan. And Mark Pope loves UK and BBN more than he loves himself.
Now how refreshing is that?
They are especially flavorful if you indulge while watching a fast paste offense.I prefer my Duke tears with fervor beans and a nice Chianti

I don't understand people who spend so much time in bubbles. I'm only interested in one thing, reality. We all experience the world through our own limited windows already, so why would one intentionally choose to limit the scope of their gaze further? Getting access to the most information possible when making any decision is always preferable. I don't see any argument to the contrary.
I was surprised by that as well. I threw $50 on it at 27 to 1 to win the SEC, figured if we don't $50 is a small price for someone who will be watching every game anyway. The odds were too good for me to pass.Still giggling at that 8th in the SEC ranking by media or coaches, I'm not sure who was the idiot that put us that low.

I guess he hasn't worked up the nerve to post here. He must not have an appetite for humble pie.
Were you not listening last night when Bilas, Shulman and the other ESPN folks were trying to convince you that Duke was as deep as they have ever been? They are very very talented. Short bench and one key injury away from being above average.
If I’m an announcer, I’m going with Ka-Noople 100%. Good player distracting name.Flagg was very impressive and I understand the #1 pick hype now. .. Nipple on the other hand gave me volume scorer vibes and while he is polished for his age, I don't think he has the type of talent you have to get from an elite freshman.
He is a very good player. He does do the Duke flop now and then but is much more likable than most of the Duke players from the past. He did have turnover trouble at the end when we finally turned up the defensive pressure but this is also just his 3rd college game and first against a very good team. Despite what some others say about him, I'd love to have had him playing for us at UK.Happy as hell we won. But, I really liked that Flagg kid. He didn’t come off as your typical Dook kid we have all come to dislike. Seems hard nosed at a very young age. He is the kind of kid I can root for, as long as they aren’t playing our Cats.
That is unless I missed something. Last 8 minutes of the first half was laying my son down and got back right at halftime. So maybe something happened I didn’t see.
