Could Jon Sumrall be the football team's Mark Pope?

Richt was tired, I thought something was going on with him, he just looked so disengaged on the sideline, took weekends off before signing day. As it turned out, he was sick, the onset of Parkinson. So I guess he had other things on his mind. But the reign ended at UF his last season. With a buy week, he named a running QB the starter, yet we ran the same pass happy offense, three 4 into. He was gone before plane got back to Athens. That UF game just seemed to say I run it the way I want. Terms with Kirby were agreed on, AD was told to get it signed or he would join Richt.

Clearly Kirby upgraded the program, this is a tough year, but he has lost some assistants, replaced them with questionable hires and it's hurt us.

As for UK's decision on its coach, I sometimes say things that catch me some heat I am not wanting, so I am staying out of the UK needing a new coach decision, that's up to UK administration and fans. But I will say I am glad UGA made it's decision.
Appreciate the "inside" info of a informed Georgia fan. It's hard to say goodbye to a coach who has brought a lot of joy and success to the program - period! I remember when Coach Rupp was removed. He did not want to go - he even considered going to be the Coach at Duke until Mrs. Rupp told him she wasn't going. Coach Rupp was older - and made to retire by state laws about employee age. Everyone seems to describe our current coach, on here at least, as similar to what you said about Richt, by that I mean looking tired, unengaged and not doing the things that led to his success here at UK. I think Coach Stoops is a fighter and doesn;t want to go out with a losing year - but - I'm not sure he is thinking of the best interest of UK - but more about his best interest. Can I blame him - no! Can I understand his reasoning - yes! But as a boss of people who had to fire people ,and who was fired, - it is difficult no matter which side you fall on. The person making the initial decision can and probably is blinded by friendships and a past record. It might cost him his job as well.

I agree with Hamlin and Latarte on Denny's podcast that it should be only winners make the chase and then let the first 7 races determine the final four who battle it out over the final 3 races. One race shouldn't determine a champion. I know they want to be like stick and ball sports but in racing when wrecks, mechanical failures and other factors that are out of your control can affect your finish, it should come down to 1 race.

I do like the idea of the champ 4 being a 3 race series. Pick a mile, a road, and a superspeedway.
