POLITICAL THREAD

Many around here scream they want it, but if this ends up happening it will be a disaster that could lose y'all power for years. Swing voters, including the Hispanic vote y'all got so much of this time, bought the 'criminals and rapists' rhetoric. Deporting families will have massive political fallout.

The Hispanic voters who swung to Trump are the ones obviously here legally, who spent thousands and years to achieve that citizenship and ability to vote. They harbor resentment towards the criminals brought in and all those brought in that are getting handouts and free shit galore. Those aren’t the people at risk of being deported.

Thing that aggravated me last night

Truth is, scheyer can’t coach or hasn’t proven to be very good to this point imo.
I think he's been very good for having zero head coach experience before he took the reigns. He's recruiting at an elite level and that can carry him until he improves his coaching. He's probably still got K on speed dial if he needs him. But he improved last year over his first, so if I were to guess he'll settle in and Duke will be in a good place going forward.

Duke and UNC are annoying af but I kind of hope Scheyer and Hubert are relatively successful. I think it would be very cool to see three blue bloods led by three former players all having success at their former schools. I will always root against Duke and UNC in almost every game, but having blue bloods coached by former players is a cool storyline for the game in general.

If Boley starts...

I understand the sentiment, but don't the coaches see these guys in practice and constantly evaluate them ??
Decisions like this, to start someone seemingly out of the blue, seem like desperation or succumbing to pressure from outside the coaches' offices. Having said that, if he starts ... I hope he plays well and provides an encouraging blueprint for the future of KY football.
That the coaches "constantly evaluate them" I see as a chief reason Boley's being considered as the starter Sat. Don't forget, too, that QB1 is nursing an injury so what better time to see what the young guy can do? I don't see it as desperate but more fortunate timing.

Cancer advanced to stage 4. Planning bucket list trip to Rupp for NYE game (vs Brown).

That will absolutely help and we thank you dearly. We can each take one kiddo and enjoy the game. Once again thank you so much.
Just transferred two tickets to your email provided. Used your name from your report (best I could make out of it anyway) so you should have them by now. Let me know that you got them and accepted them though I should get a confirmation of your acceptance from Ticketmaster too. Have a great evening with your entire family group. Oh, you asked about bourbon ideas for your brother. Go to Buffalo Trace in Frankfort (easy drive from Lexington) and take their free distillery tour. It's excellent, you get some tasting along with a great tour and just get tickets as you head into their visitor center.

Could Jon Sumrall be the football team's Mark Pope?

Re recruiting and Sumrall...on face value maybe but as has been pointed out his recruits while at UK were top notch. He has extensive contacts with HSs/JUCOs in the South, LA, MS, AL plus he likely could keep Morrow. To me recruiting would be another box he would check.

This is what i think about recruiting. Today it's expensive as he'll and if you want top classes be prepared to spend 15m up either via the portal or through HS. If you are wanting win the playoffs, I think you better be top 10-12 classes at least. Can Sumrall do that, I dont know, but when you have 10-15 schools willing to spend 15m+ on classes it won't be easy. Oregon has Phil Knight and his personal 46B wanting a championship. Texas schools have multiple oil men wanting one, Tennessee charging their working fans extra to attention a game. Going to be hard to compete on the recruiting trail for everyone without the mega booster.
