I was on the "Cal must go because he was steering the ship into an iceberg" bandwagon. Regardless of the prospective next coach, he had to go to avert certain catastrophe and let us start to process of getting the ship back on course. If it were a process with some lean seasons, then so be it. Better to take care of it now than later.

Yes. He will probably win a couple games. He is a very streaky shooter.
Butler absolutely has to be in the game at crunch time though. Kerr's defense isn't good enough. Unless he is just buring 3 after 3.

Almonor has been a pleasant surprise! His TS% is almost 70. If he maintains that, he should continue to figure into the rotation.

I had no idea who would be the next UK coach.
I'm far from a know it all fan. But I truly don't understand why some of you didn't think Pope would do well at UK.
If a coach can win at BYU with all the recruiting restrictions. Then he can certainly win at UK so I'm not surprised at all. I am a little surprised it has happened so fast. I thought he would have a 20 win tournament team year one. With a sweet 16 ceiling.
This team ceiling now is a title. I don't think they will win it. But they are one of 8-10 teams that has a legitimate shot.
Forget about Pope having never won a tournament game. He was coaching BYU.

Players want to be paid like "employees", then players can be "fired" like employees. If BVG isn't performing up to his NIL deal, then cut him loose.
