Heck we have two portal QBs this year and we have won a whopping 4 games and possibly only 4 for the whole season. If we are going 4 - 8 or 5 - 7, why not play a young recruit and develop him. A HS QB recruit is not going to develop sitting on the bench.

Duke beating wisconsin in a title game after we lost to tyem, was definitely salt on the eound.

I think it was Kansas that destroyed Wva in 2010 after we lost to them in the E8, that sucked too.

Last year wasn't much better, we could have had NCST in the second round, but no, we get embarrassed by Oakland because someone didn't prepare his team.

What’s Scary is Cal seriously expected his guys to just be more “athletic” other teams and to learn other teams during the flow of the game. And then when it didn’t work, he’d flip around on the sideline with that stupid open mouthed look of exasperation. GOOOOO!!!! MAKE A PLAY!!!!!

Pope knows he has great experience and great thinkers on this team (Butler for one), and will use every advantage he has.

…and to answer the question - likely zero to two in second round next June. “Maybe” Robinson and Oweh but it’s doubtful to be honest imo.

His play would definitely support that theory, because he’s been nowhere near the guy we saw last year so far, shooting only 40% from the field and 29% from three after putting up 51/44 splits last year.

How many thought Reed would be a high 1st rounder at this point last year?
I think we have several that will be paid to play ball after college but I'd be surprised if we have any 1st round players on this team...this year and a stacked draft. Several that could well become solid pro players though. Chandler has a ton of potential that I don't think we've seen much of yet. Chandler is bigger, stronger and more athletic than Reed, imho. And he has a lot of promise as a knock down outside shooter, too. He reminds me a lot of Rex's game.
