I read where they didn’t use a single timeout the entire tournament. AKA they were so good even Cal couldn’t mess that up. That team had enough leaders to ignore bad coaching and take over the game if need be.

I think Daly managed that team perfectly. He set them up to lose their first scrimmage to the elite college players, I guess to get their attention, and then they never looked back.
