No worries... you have been respectful on our board. Like I said previously, I'm disappointed that Wimsatt appears to be going elsewhere, but I don't view him as a generational "must-have" in-state recruit like a Tim Couch. Just thankful he's not going to UT, IU, or UofL, etc.

When the top ten rated schools are recruiting the top ten QB every year and some of them are getting two highly rated QB every year, there will be QB that realize they need to transfer. What’s funny is when the schools have NFL QB, sometime they don’t even realize it. Joe Burrow transferred from Ohio State to LSU after sitting on the bench for 3 years and became the #1 pick of the NFL. Justin Fields transferred from Georgia to Ohio State after his freshman year and is in the top 3 QB in this year’s draft. In the past, the QB would sit for 2-3 years before they have a chance to play but in the past 3 years, they realized they can showcase their skills by transferring.
Mac Jones missed that realization.
Just going by Wimsatts Twitter he really only interacts with Rutgers commits and players.
It doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to figure out where Wimsatt is going- Larry Holmes could figure that one out.
Rutgers is weird choice, but some dudes rather be a big fish in a small pond, I suppose.
I am a UGA fan and clearly Fields put up better numbers than Fromm. But Fromm was coming off a true frosh season where he was a blown coverage from winning a NC,or a blown claa from winning one in regulation. Not easy to bench him even for someone like Fields. But UGA doesn't sign 2 QB in the same class unless one is a JUCO or a portal kid. We did take 3 in 20 because we were down to 2 scholarshipped QB and one of those was coming of FCC brain surgery. One transfer opted out the one coming back from brain surgery transferred. We signed 1 in 21 class, have 1 comitted in 22 class and at this point not recruiting another.
When something seems to be out of no where, check where his GF is headed.

I think it is obvious that this is most probably over. Time for UK to move on.
He may commit to Rutgers tomorrow, but I'd tap the breaks a little on this Rutgers hype train.
We had the same recruiting coordinator for years. First mention of negative recruiting comes from an anonymous uc message board poster.

Must not watch much football then. It was around a decade ago when UL would have ended up in the Natl title game, except Rutgers beat them in I think the last game of the season. It was quite good fun.
No I just watch UK and an occasional top 10 matchup. Watching U of L isn’t my thing.

Brian Brohm was seeing Ghosts in that game (Sam Darnold reference from two years ago). Schiano brought the house the whole game, UL could not get anything going.
UL jumped out and then Schiano started shifting the Dline and he completely confused UL’s OL and Brohm. Jeff was blistering Brian on the sideline. Chopping wood!

Just saying that I don't think it is a given that he commits to Rutgers and all this hype may be a bit overblown. It's recruiting, so I could post this and he commits there tonight, but I don't think it is as done as some seem to be suggesting.

Yeah , in college basketball when something seems to be out of nowhere, check the handlers and shoe companies.
From what our mods are indicating, We could end up with 7+ 4*players. maybe up to 9. Well see how everything plays out.
I was on the sidelines that game and every game that year. It was a magical season for RU fans. Stinks Cinci beat us. But GS is starting to put together a nice lil class. Last years performanc helped.
Why would UK staff stop recruiting the kid? Unless he tells them to fcuk off then UK and other schools will continue to recruit him till the ink is dry.
I tried in that era to like Rutgers.
I really did.
But during significant overseas action, when Navy came for a game to Jersey, the crowd chanted “F@&k Navy,” and the wife of the president of Navy sought personal protection from a surly crowd. Rutgers fans a dozen years, ago, defended the student body, saying “that’s our culture.”
Stoops today(3/25) mentioned how well his QBs are progressing, how they're all adapting well to the new O, how he and the staff are well satisfied where they are.....then added: "If you don't want to compete don't come here." Think that's meant for anybody in particular??
From what I've gathered Wimsatt is a silent. Just waiting for video to be done for his commitment. But nothing set in stone till the ink dries up.
