I understand why Wimsatt was offered by UK and ultimately went to Rutgers. I am guessing that he was a raw prospect from Owensboro, i.e., not a hotbed of national football level talent, had a lot of upside potential, and so UK and Rutgers at least offered. Turns out he is not a good passer and neither team could help him much, or so it seems. OK, that happens a lot.

But for the life of me, I am scratching my head as to why BVG was rated a 5 star and landed an offer from UGA, which signs blueblood players by the boatload annually. What exactly did scouts see in HS? He started out decent, but has not improved much, if any, after 8 games. So far, I see a version of Mike Hartline, OK to decent in spots, but nothing to write home about. I don't see how his bloated HS stats against small private school competition could have blinded all the coaches and scouts. Did he not go to camps and clinics where the head guys and recruiters got a much closer look at him? He takes forever to locate receivers, has just an OK arm and is a decent runner, and so in short, he could develop into a decent player, but five star?? I am baffled after seeing him play for 2/3 of a season how they missed so bad on him.

What am I missing?
