Who was the most disappointing Wildcat since probation ended in 1991?

Easy there Tonya Harding.

Poythress was 8 games into his junior year when that happened. He was averaging 5.5 points a game and 3.8 rebounds. 2 full seasons and 8 games as a junior is enough of a sample size to know what you've got. His freshman game against Duke I thought we were getting a star. He turned out to just be an average player. I liked Poythress, he just didn't become near what I though he was capable of with his size and athleticism.

And today Poythress is making a mil a year playing basketball.

I'd maybe replace Camara with Poythress, but other than that, can't argue...good list

And today Poythress is making a mil a year playing basketball.

I doubt it. He is the 5th leading scorer for the Zenit St. Petersburg team in the Euroleague. He wasn't on the top 50 highest paid eurolegue players and the one in 50th is making roughly 1 mil.

But let's just say you're right and he makes 1 mil a year to pay for the Russian euroleague basketball team where he is an average role player. That's WAY lower than where any of us thought he would be coming into college. It's great he's been able to make a career for himself playing basketball but I definitely thought it would be as a solid NBA contributor.

And ripping the hell out of teams defenseless. Compare the defense before and after his departure. There is one hell of a lot more to basketball than the pedestrian stats yiu cherry picked.

So I provide objective, factual data to support my point of view. You choose to go the condescending route backed by a subjective opinion. Apparently this stifling defense you speak of (.7 blks, .4 stls for some more useless trivia) is something NBA teams must have overlooked as well. While Poythress was a fine defender, you seem to have missed my point. I'm not saying Poythress sucked or I didn't enjoy his time at UK. He just wasn't what he could have been or what any of us expected. Including yourself assuming you could admit it.

Compare the team defensive stats. 2015 never recovered from his loss. They were a defensive juggernaut before his injury. The guy was a hell of a basketball player. It’s not his fault ignorant fans expected too much.

I think the game we were up 41-7 against UCLA was after Poythress's injury, IIRC. They were still playing pretty stifling defense without him. I agree it hurt us defensively but let's not act like that team wasn't still great without him.

There is great and there is devastating. With him, they were the latter.

Agree, Poythress was sorely missed on that 15 team.

Have we all forgot how bad Skal sucked. He gave minimal effort. Was #1 in some rankings. Needed a tub of vagisil to make him tougher.
was also played out of position, he wasn't a back to the basket player, which Calipari made him try to be

The only answer here is Skal. Had he stayed four years, he would have been the first player who was unable to break through the big paper circle on his way out to the floor on Senior Night.

god rest his soul, but i think Terrance Clarke, was kind of a dissappointment also, relative to his ranking

* Jr year stats were better and he won SEC Tournament MVP that year while helping UK to the Final Four

I have no respect for any player that quits on his team during the season. So for me, guys like The Dragon, Quade and Carruth lead the way of disappointing players for me.
