Best decision for him & honestly wish him the best even though he quit on our team mid season
Wheeler was a bad basketball player who should have went to Kansas. Kansas with wheeler does not win the national title. Can't believe cal recruited that bum.
regardless of what stats you show in support of Wheeler, even if his play was on the + side in a game
you couldn't trust his decision making under pressure. He never improved it over the course of his playing here.
It won't bother me one bit next year if people post a Wheeler update where he is killing it for Georgia Tech or Clemson or wherever he goes. He was relegated to a relief guy here and most fans weren't even comfortable with that.
I'm not one for pushing a player out, but I don't blame him for leaving. It wasn't going to improve and you couldn't count on his health, his basketball IQ or it would seem his dedication.

Harrow was really close to his dad and his dad had a stroke. He couldn’t think about BB. He moved to school close to home and had a decent career.
Harrison was much worse than people think. I don’t understand why people thought he was one of Cal’s better pg’sI can understand why he is leaving. No surprise, he wants a fresh start. Clearly he has not been among the best PGs in the Calipari era, but I do not think he's been the worst, either. Good Luck to him wherever he ends up.

Regarding Wheeler...it turned out to be a better day than I thought it was going to be, should have played golf. I happened to make it to a Harbour Freight though. Wheeler is missing a big chance in life if he doesn't make an immediate leap to the WNBA. We can't always do what we want, but we usually end up doing what we are destined to do.

Maybe so. However, I’ll take a freshman Harrison over a senior Wheeler every time.
Not going to senior night to at least have your family honored for the years of support is all the proof I need.

I never stated Wheeler was the worst point guard we had, so if that was your point you didn’t even comprehend the original comment in the first place. I pointed out his detrimental flaws.

I cannot believe Calipari had his wife come out there and do that. It really shows how bad off that families egos are.
I fully expect Wheeler to come out and try to gain media attention by saying his “lifestyle” was the reason this all happened. Everybody better get ready for it because it looks like that’s what this is setting up to be.
In reality, he had his minutes taken and he quit. Hard to believe Calipari actually thought lying (the guy just has no character) about wheeler having a “minor surgery” during senior night lol was gonna help the situation.
It’s just an unreal situation and shows how low Calipari is, and how far out there his ego has become. He cannot handle success in any form.
I went to the dorm after the UT game here. Wheeler was in a walking boot at the game. He drove up to the dorm and got out of his car no boot on his foot. Seemed to be walking fine. I didn’t really care because I had scene him play enuff to know I didn’t care if he played another game for us. I don’t know why anyone cares if he played or not. We all had watched him enuff!!
I agree the kid quit. But I don’t know you can start throwing out “lifestyle” jabs. First of all, it doesn’t matter; second, we don’t know what “lifestyle” Wheeler enjoys. I’d pump the brakes on that one. But, I’m with you 100% on he quit. And I’m with you in saying anyone who holds out doubt on that are just completely blind to the mountain of evidence that shows it.
You misinterpreted what I said. I never espoused a personal opinion on his lifestyle.
I get that. I didn’t say you promoted any personal opinion on any lifestyle. What I meant was, maybe we should hold off predicting SW will label “lifestyle” as part of the problem when we don’t know what lifestyle SW leads. I mean, if i’m reading the inference here incorrectly in terms of what you mean by lifestyle I apologize.
Man, it is what it is. My opinion is that the lifestyle stuff has legs. It’s not just 1 or 2 people who’ve said it. Many times this sort of thing doesn’t originate from thin air.
I suspect this topic will see light eventually. But that’s just a guess with some information at this point. Could it be wrong? Sure.And if it is I have no problem apologizing for any false insinuations.
At the end of the day we don’t know. But it has been put out there.
