Their future is supposed to be to their education. That's what school is for, and their athletic scholarship is given with the hopes that they'll do their part to bring success to the program. At UK that's supposed to mean titles. Not sure how I'm the world that got perverted, and why this perversion is okay with fans.

My concern about UK's NIL model is this: By Cal's own words we do not offer guaranteed NIL monies. Dickinson even said it's "risky" to play here. Yet it's assumed other schools are guaranteeing a specific amount to play at their school. Since we've not added any players to complement our freshman class, our NIL approach needs reevaluation.

I certainly under your concern. And I'm not Cals biggest fan, however, the one thing I definitely give him credit for is being honest with the kids and parents. It sounds like a lot of parents and kids are getting promised things right now that aren't materializing. This could just be a case of Cal is actually doing it the right way. I have no idea and I may be wrong but just a different view.

Well..... I'm not a spring chicken. 🤣 And that is the way college athletics was designed. I'm never going to be okay with college athletes making pro money while performing as a collegiate athlete. It isn't right in my book. It's how I feel, but others have their own feelings on the matter and I respect that.

You're saying that everyone who enjoyed college hoops and liked the way it was before NIL is backwards thinking? Sorry, friends, not going to exchange insults with you. No one's advocating for participation trophies.

Those students get run to death during the semester. They have a more difficult life than most of you realize. You may think they are Gods on campus, but they wake up at 5a, train 6a-8a, go to class, have a team meeting, more class, more working out, and sometimes evening classes. Then wash, rinse, and repeat.

It is a brutal life that deserves compensation.
