This is in Fayette County Schools

The above is now in Fayette County Public School buildings. I’m afraid before long they will be teaching lessons in the classroom on the subject. We saw how horrible the scores were for the schools. Why can’t they just focus on a normal education? It’s hard enough being a kid, then you throw all these other things in their face.

Our County performed in "good" green category, including my kids elementary school.

Proud to say he was formally identified as gifted in 4th grade this year. Only one other kid in his grade made the cut.

Schools should stick to education and kindness...simple as that. Kindness goes a long way.

I personally don’t see anything wrong with teaching some history about people in this country, personally. Especially if it’s just a couple weeks. Then again my kids are in private catholic school so probably shouldn’t pay too much attention to me 😂

I bet kids are turning gay right and left now.

I hope you know you sound EXACTLY like the people who complain about Black history month or Hispanic heritage month. Absolutely zero difference. You can try to justify it all you want.
Don't be so smug. Teaching kids that deviancy is ok does make more of them explore it. I see it on a daily basis. As for your statement, there is a huge difference.

So would you be ok with a big banner in the school that said “marriage is between a man and a woman” and said “celebrate straight people”?

Find me another forum with an electric car thread as if we’re in Back to the Future Part II but also an anti LGBTQ thread from some angry old bastards who wish for some magical, make believe 1950’s existence where gays just don’t exist. I don’t think you can.

I'm kind of on your side that in a perfect world I prefer my kids not have signs like that in their school BUT you proved his point because the first thing the people he's talking about go it is "Well what about White History Month?!?!"

This is a tough one for me. I'm perfectly fine with Black History Month and Hispanic History Month as, hopefully, it sticks to the facts and enlightens some folks that not only white Europeans have done something historically significant. When you have LBGTQ+ History Month, you will undoubtedly be bringing the spotlight, however indirectly, on an individual's sexual preference, which, last I looked, has nothing to do with history. If, during the course of Black or Hispanic History Month or any other History month, the texts would include and identify significant achievements by homosexuals, I see no reason not to do so. But, emphasizing a sexual preference seems over the top and a political ploy more than a desire to teach history. Why not Beastiality History Month? Necrophilia History Month? Incest History Month?

I don't care if gays exist but teaching gay lifestyles in schools is both unnecessary and inappropriate. Kids perform worse now in fundamental classes, they don't read well, they don't spell well, they can't read or write cursive, most are very poor at math and science. On the bright side, they can all tell you about gay sex and why its ok and what month gay pride happens. It's patently absurd.

Well, what about white month and same sex marriage month. The issue is most of this simply doesn't belong in schools. This is the government dictating the morals they think kids should learn. That's a parents job. Shoot, schools in California don't even recognize parents as having rights. Is that really what you radical liberals want?

I haven't posted on here in months but have been trying to read and catch up some......I have grandchildren in the Fayette Co system. I won't name names but the schools they have attended since they moved there are great. They are learning and are prepared for college. They are all musicians and play with groups in school. Music isn't offered to the same degree in JCPS. And every one of them are honor students......maybe people are not teaching kids at home? If the schools are so bad how come each and every one of my grandchildren are getting a good education? Are they an anomaly?

Their parents set expectations and they are lucky with their schools.

What exactly does “teaching gay lifestyles in schools” mean? What do you believe is happening?

I’ll say this once because you and I have had a bit of a back and forth on this before. I know three things about you - you’re a UK fan, you’re old, and you’ve told me twice that you “despise gays.” All I see in the photo is a banner of people who are what you despise. A couple personality goals every child should have is to grow up open minded and not full of hate. No one needs your grandchildren or great grandchildren going online and saying shit like “I despise gays” or walking up to a gay person and saying “I despise your lifestyle, sinner.” and walking away. You don’t need to pass that bullshit onto them. And whether it drives you or others here crazy and makes you all feel icky, millennials and kids in general are much more open minded and are much more comfortable with the LGBTQ community. You seem to hate gays but love discussing them. Grow up, old man and get over your absurd hatred.

500% increase of kids identifying as trans over the past 2 years in one school district.

Yup. Nothing to see here. Definitely no social engineering or indoctrination going on in our school systems.

You people are so gawd damned consumed with this shit you fail to see the real world results and consequences.

Someone talking about ‘feigned’ outrage as if they have completely missed all the ‘terrorist’ parents at board meetings, missed the VA state elections, and missed Deerborn Muslim and Christian parents coming together to protest this crap just a week ago.

If you think this is ‘feigned’ outrage, keep at it. You’ll get a good dose of what real outrage is soon enough. Parents have had it with y’all’s shit.

Shut up kid, we gay today

Were you around in 1950? The term gay meant happy in those days, not homosexuality or lesbianism. So you are correct gays as homosexuals did not exist. But homosexuals were in society and were known as homosexuals, it just wasn't taught to children and glorified in schools.

Some of the biggest stars of the 1950's were homosexuals. Rock Hudson, Liberace, Cliff Montgomery, Tab Hunter, Vincent Price, Greta Garbo, just to name a few. The list is very, very long. They went about their lives and private lives and no one bothered them. The public knew and just didn't make a big deal out of it. We still went to their movies and enjoyed their music.

The difference in 1950 compared to today is, "gays" were not militant and political.

They very well may be getting a good education but at the same time the personal beliefs/values of the superintendent (who is gay ) is being shared with them. Straight, gay, whatever should not be pushed in the schools. Only education.

Keep at what and when you say we’ll get a good dose of real outrage soon enough, what does that mean? If you’re dumb enough to post veiled threats on a public forum, at least go all the way with it and explain what you would like to see happen, angry fella. Please let us know what you’re referring to since you’re posting a vague warning.

I guess I should clarify a bit. I despise what this push towards acceptance of deviance is doing to our social structure. Kids are being taught that being gay is normal, it is not. I see first hand what it is doing to kids and I do hate that. I'm generally indifferent towards individual gays. They are free to live their lives but I do prefer that it is away from me. I don't want to see a gay in every tv show or the effeminate male with makeup and a dress. This is being crammed down our throats by the left and you can't say it isn't.

Veiled threats? Buddy, I’ll come at you anytime, anywhere. And there won’t be any veil to it.

So to help your lunatic ass understand *exactly* what I mean…..parents (yes, that scary terrorist group) are breaking for repubs at 64/29 clip per the latest Monmouth poll. Is that ‘feigned’ outrage, as your myopic ass described it? Or would you consider that *real* outrage?

In closing, back away from the kids.

That isn't a threat unless you mean parents taking control of schools and their kids education. The so called educators who want to push this agenda should all be replaced, either nicely or angrily. I'd prefer for our schools to simply educate children and stop indoctrinating them into anything. It's none of a schools business.

In America the preferred method is by voting. In 19 days people, including parents, will be going to the polls. Some have already voted through the mail and early voting.

Less than 30% of parents in America support the Democrat Party. It is no secret what these parents have as their most important issues and it is not abortion. I would be more concerned with these voting parents. If a difference is made, they will be the difference.

Exactly. He’s one that says (out of one side of his mouth) parents are terrorists at these board meetings, but also (out of the other side of his mouth) it’s all just feigned outrage.

These aren’t serious people and they need to be shunned from society and put as far away from children as possible.

Thank you, that says it all. Great response. Less than 30% of parents will be voting Democrat. That may indicate a Red Wave of historical occurrence. The voting booth is where you change things.

So it's political to focus on someone's sexual preference but not their race for something like Black History Month?

Interesting. Guess it's only political to focus on race when it fits your narrative...

And lol at people complaining about schools teaching morals and indoctrinating when that is one of the foundations of the American educational system.

That is an INSANE statement. There is absolutely a difference in sexual vs non sexual topics. My 10 year old should not be learning about sexual preferences of ANY KIND at school.

To say that and black history month are the same is just ridiculous and show pure ignorance.

Lol I have no problem with them teaching this, are you under the impression there's no gay kids in fayette county?

The problem is tho that SOME have taken it to full lunacy. Teaching kindergarteners about mutilation, drag queens and full on porn. Like in Florida if they can't teach elementary schools on how to have anal the teachers apparently can't put together lesson plans.

So no problem here, this is what they usually use as a shield when they're doing the insane grooming stuff and hurts the argument against it. "Oh you're just a homophobic bigot"

Feigned? Don't be too sure about that.

Why isn't this one thread? The same group of people will inevitably end up arguing the same tired points and no one is changing their minds. You could just pop that in the political thread and get half a day of posts out of it.

And, yes, it's feigned. Do you think there are really people at home ready to start a civil war over Troy Aikman getting canceled because some asshat tweeted about his statement? Over gas prices? What Fayette county is electing to do with their curriculum? The same group of idiots that get up in arms any time a religious topic is brought up in schools is no better. Expose children to everything in the world and let them decide who they want to be. I had a science teacher teach us about how evolution works within Genesis. I thought it was an interesting concept. I'm definitely not a Christian, but willing to hear about things I either A.) Don't know about or B.) don't have experience with.

Do you guys really think there are teachers standing in front of a room of 10 year olds teaching fellatio?

Buddy, my principal in high school kept a fifth in his desk and told every 18 year old boy that would listen that "if she smokes, she pokes". Don't think this concept is some kind of new fangled DOGMA going around. He retired shortly after I graduated (2003).
