The Ukraine war. (Yes, we'll mind our manners)

Here's the thing, I, and plenty of other people, don't see it was wasting money. Our national debt is largely due to a structural imbalance that our political class has shown a great amount of cowardice in dealing with. I agree, it's a major issue, but pretending that aid to Ukraine is the straw the broke the camel's back is just not grounded in reality.
Again, and simply, what’s not realistic is spending money on a losing proposition.

If we had a 30 trillion dollar surplus it may be different. Or if this was an existential threat to our security. Neither are true.

Yeah, the “pro-Putin” and “pro-Nazi” ad hominem posts are silly and beneath the intelligence demonstrated otherwise.
And @entropy13 - before you posted that I only called out your ridiculousness, you should have performed a little search. The above post was the first I posted on the subject.

But, I accept your tears as real emotion and want you to be well.

Oh gee, sorry I didn't notice a single post of yours from 5 months ago. Not my job to do a comprehensive review of your posting history.

I'm quite well, thank you. Your delusions of adequacy always bring tears of laughter to my eyes.

Hey, I realize being proudly wrong is part of your schtick.

Hello I am John Doe from Lexington Oblast and I would like to confirm that everything this poster
is saying is true. I can no longer even afford buckwheat for my family due to the federal spending on Ukraine. Please vote to end aid to Ukraine immediately before the America economy is destroyed! ! !

You totally owned me. Crushing debt won’t actually cause any problems. All is well.

They've only used about 1 percent of the military budget. We're handing them trash from the 80's. And it is important for the US to help because Russians won't stop. People from the West don't understand that Russians view things differently. This won't stop at Ukraine. Poland would be next and then NATO would be dragged in. And I know republicans wouldnt hold up their agreement to NATO either, but Alaska would be next and then I would love to hear your excuses.

Pic attached, this is a current recruiting poster in Russia

If we don’t continue giving Ukraine shitty, 1980s trash weapons, Russia will conquer Poland and invade the United States is a new stepped up level of unhinged lunacy, thats for sure.
Russia wants to do all of these things. Putin wants the soviet empire back. Including all the old russian lands. This includes Alaska. Now would this succeed? No. But its important we stop them in Ukraine before they try to take on Nato.

Americas 1980s weapons are still more advanced than just about anything in the world. Excluding stuff like Humvees, and M113s.

Watch Russian state TV some time. They're very clear on their goals.

As most realize, I quoted Obama's quip in the presidential debate when Romney pointed out Russia was a geopolitical enemy. Obama literally laughed at it and all msm followed.

When exactly did Russia become so dangerous? Sometime after Hillary and co sold him uranium and after everyone lauded the zinger.

I didn’t reply to it because how do you reply to that?

They cannot take Ukraine, but we need to stop them before they take on NATO? Are we stopping them?

Let’s be more honest about this. Putin sucks. Paying to have him bogged down in a prolonged conflict with Ukraine serves us, until Ukraine starts to hate us too, for using them in this proxy war wherein we just send munitions and their young die.

"I continue to believe that U.S. support for Ukraine against Russia isn’t a distraction from our effort to deter China, as some critics argue, but, rather, by inflicting massive military damage on Beijing’s principal ally, a spur for that effort. Yet it is also true that Beijing is watching as U.S. military capacity is depleted by the assistance to Kyiv."
