It is impossible that these are all true.

I'm too lazy to wiki, but not too lazy to math.

If you have 17 appearances in the F4 and 12 in the champ game, then you have 29 total F4 games played.

Furthermore, if you're #1 in championship games and #2 in F4 appearances, then logically, you must be at least #2 in F4 games played.

There's only one team who can possibly lead us in F4 games played, and that is the team that is #1 in F4 appearances, and only if their lead in F4s is greater than our lead in championship appearances.

I suspect that we've played in 29 F4 games. It would make all the other numbers work.
Champ games + F4 appearances = F4 games played
12 + 17 = 29.

Also,
Titles + Champ game appearances = F4 wins
8 + 12 = 20.

Yes, alright, but then it's logically impossible that we're third if our rankings for champ game appearances and F4 appearances is true. We're second at worst.

So I went to count on wiki and looked at UNC, UCLA, Duke, and Kansas, the only other 4 who could be in that conversation.

We're ahead of the latter two, and UNC and UCLA both have 29.

So unless wiki has the wrong count for them, it's:

Correct....Cats was #2 all alone until Duke won it all in 2015.

Alright, but I wonder where CBS got those numbers, since wiki has us in a 3 way tie with UCLA and NC at 29 and Duke and Kansas below that.

Maybe on a day that's not Thanksgiving I'll go see if there are some UNC and UCLA sites with actual years.

Okay, this is irrefutable evidence that Kentucky is the greatest college basketball program of all time. But I hope no one is suggesting fans should be happy and proud and cut back on the whining and crying over things like the November schedule.
 
Cool little milestone for those of you who may be interested in this kind of thing.

I think it’s safe to assume UK will be ranked in the top 10 of this year’s first AP poll. If so, it will be the 700th time UK has been ranked in the top 10 of an AP poll.

Not surprisingly, we’ve been ranked in the top 10 more than any other school. Since 1949, 59% of all weekly AP polls had UK in the top 10. That’s nuts.
