State of 2022 Recruiting

Coaches these days rarely discuss guys like Fulton who played so sparingly, perhaps only special teams? I assume he will get playing time eventually, otherwise he might have reentered the portal.

Coaches mentioned Fulton during fall camp. He got some playing time this year and will get more.

I never saw him listed here being involved in a play involving a snap, did see his number some on kick teams.

There's always some fraction of a chance a kid will flip to some other program that's in the spotlight.

Just like there's always someone that buys stocks when they're almost ready to drop after going way up.

I think about all of the kids that bought into Oregon because of their flashy uniforms and hype over the years. It's like buying the beautiful boxes of sugar cereal. You devour a whole box and it's so sweet, but your stomach feels like sht after, and you're hungry again within an hour. Lol

Before I start posting lines from Tommy Boy, I'm signing off. See y'all tomorrow

Tomorrow will be the first day of the early signing period for NCAA football. As discussed earlier on this thread, Mark Stoops has plenty of scholarships available.

UK's current 2022 recruiting class-

Alex Afari, DB, West Chester, OH

Vince Marrow is recruiting Afari. UK is believed to be his only SEC offer. Afari is a long athlete who could play CB, S, or WR at the next level. He has remained interested in MI St, and he just took an official visit to Cincinnati. So he is a possible flip candidate, but hopefully sticks with UK. We will find out tomorrow.

Jordan Anthony, slotR, Tylertown, MS

Recruited by Jon Sumrall. Firm commitment to UK but holds at least four SEC offers. Small receiver who missed part of this hs season with a fractured vertebra. Fully recovered now. Runs track and has elite speed.

Grant Bingham, OL, Paintsville, KY

Recruited by Vince Marrow. Firm to UK but holds at least four SEC offers. Bingham is probably a RG or RT, but most believe he will be an OG. Very strong, needs work on pass blocking technique and pad level.

Barion Brown, WR, Nashville, TN

Recruited by Liam Coen. Holds at least eleven SEC offers but is believed firm to UK. Runs track and has outstanding speed and athleticism. Could immediately become one of the better playmakers on UK's offense, and could push for significant playing time as a true freshman.

Tomiwa Durojaiye, DL, Middletown, DE

Recruited by Brad White. He holds at least five SEC offers. Nice length, but needs more bulk to play on an SEC DL. Will probably be beefed up in UK's strength program and developed as a DT, but could also be developed as a DE.

Tyreese Fearbry, LB, Pittsburgh, PA

Recruited by Brad White. Holds at least five SEC offers. Premium edge defender prospect. Has a lean frame that will need more bulk, but has length and athleticism to become an outstanding SEC OLB. Could become a Jack or Sam LB in Coach Stoops' defense.

Kiyaunte Goodwin, OL, Charlestown, IN

Recruited by Vince Marrow. Grew up in Jefferson Co. Believed to hold fourteen SEC offers. One of the nation's top OL prospects. Although verbally committed to UK since last spring, he recently visited TX A&M, AL, FL St, MI, and MI St. My uneducated guess is that he either sticks with UK or flips to one of the other two SEC schools. Coach Marrow has his hands full here, but he has a good shot to hold onto a potentially program-changing player. Goodwin will clear everything up tomorrow. Nothing would surprise me.

Nikolas Hall, OL, Austin, TX

Recruited by Vince Marrow. Legacy recruit, son of former Wildcat and former NFL player Antonio Hall. Holds at least three SEC offers. Strong player from a very competitive football state. Probably a future SEC OG but could play RT.

Quentel Jones, DL, Ft Valley, GA

Recruited by Brad White. Holds at least seven SEC offers. Very strong, and surprisingly athletic for size. Probably a NT but could play DT.

Josh Kattus, TE, Cincinnati, OH

Recruited by Vince Marrow. Product of Archbishop Moeller hs. Holds at least two SEC offers. Known as an excellent blocker.

Dane Key, WR, Lexington, KY

Recruited by Vince Marrow. Holds at least five SEC offers. Product of Frederick Douglass hs in Lexington. Known for excellent hands and great routes, but also has a second gear. Premium receiver prospect.

DeCarlos Nicholson, DB, Perkinston, MS

Recruited by Chris Collins, and was Coach Collins' first SEC verbal commitment. Nicholson enrolled at MS Gulf Coast CC as a QB but was converted to a CB there. Considered one of the top juco players in the country. He holds three SEC offers. Nicholson has been recruited with an inside track to a starting CB job at UK next year. But I believe he will probably flip to Ole MS or MS St tomorrow.

Elijah Reed, DB, Louisville, KY

Evaluated during a June position camp in Lexington, and recruited by Vince Marrow. UK appears to be his only SEC offer. Tall, very long CB prospect.

Jackson, Smith, K, Danville, KY

Recruited by Vince Marrow. Top hs kicker in KY, and one of the top hs placekickers in the country this year. Can also punt, but is being recruited to compete as a placekicker.

Andre Stewart, DB, Kennesaw, GA

Recruited by Anwar Stewart. Holds at least nine SEC offers. Has enough size to be developed as a S and enough speed to play CB, but will probably be developed as a CB at UK.

Destin Wade, ATH, Spring Hill, TN

Recruited by Vince Marrow. Twin brother of Keaton. Holds at least five SEC offers. Could play QB, WR, LB, or S at the next level.

Keaton Wade, LB, Spring Hill, TN

Recruited by Vince Marrow. Twin brother of Destin. Holds at least seven SEC offers Premium edge defender and pass rusher prospect. Could play Jack or Sam LB in UK's defense.

Brandon White, slotR, Cincinnati, OH

Recruited by Vince Marrow. UK is his only SEC offer. Product of Archbishop Moeller hs. Tiny slot receiver, but runs track and has elite speed.

Here is a partial list of hs and juco prospects still believed to be receiving attention from UK's staff. I am not covering the transfer portal here.

Ja'Kobi Albert, slotR, Fairfield, AL.

Albert is a slot receiver with elite speed, verbally committed to Auburn. Many believe he will flip and sign with UK tomorrow.

Jackson Brown, OL, Danville, CA

Brown recently picked up a UK offer, but he has not visited Lexington. He has one official visit left to take. He is committed to Cal, but might flip. If he and UK have a mutual interest, he might become a candidate to sign during the late period in February.

Jalen Farmer, OL, Covington, GA

Farmer recently visited Lexington. He is verbally committed to FL, but is looking for a new program now since Dan Mullen was recently fired. Possible flip.

Zahquan Frazier, DB, Cedartown, GA

Frazier is a product of Coffeyville CC. He recently visited Lexington and would fill a pressing need in UK's secondary if Stoops can sign him.

Davison Igbinosun, DB, Union, NJ

Igbinosun recently visited Lexington. Strong secondary defender. UK has a decent shot, although he is widely believed to be trending toward Ole MS.

Ahmad Moten, DL, Ft Lauderdale, FL

Moten has been linked to UK in the past. But I don't think he has visited Lexington yet, and there hasn't been any recent news. Possible late signing candidate for February.

Jawaun Northington, ATH, Louisville, KY

This is a weak year for Power 5 prospects in Jefferson Co., but Coach Marrow has been in frequent touch with Northington for months. Northington is probably a RB at the next level. Hard to tell where he may end up.

Mason Thomas, LB, Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Thomas, a hs teammate of Ahmad Moten, is verbally committed to IA St. Thomas is an edge defender who may have to move inside at the next level due to lack of length. Many believe he will flip to UK or MI St, but he probably won't sign anywhere during the early signing period.

Deone Walker, OL/DL, Detroit, MI

Walker is one of the highest-rated uncommitted players left on UK's radar. It has been said by others that GA is the greatest threat for his commitment, but he may sign with MI and Jim Harbaugh tomorrow. But UK still has a very good shot.

Late crystal balls on 247 picking UK for Walker, even Mich guys
If we can hold what we've got and add Walker and one or two of the other highly regarded guys we are rumored to have a shot at, this is going to be an absolute dream class! Just imagine how awesome we will all feel this time tomorrow if we end up signing a class featuring 10 or 11 four stars and is knocking on the door of being a top 10 national class. I really want to experience that feeling. I think we have a decent shot of making that happen.

Now that Goodwin tweeted late last night that he is down to UK and MI St, it is a lot easier to feel good about it this morning. Sounds like Goodwin will stick with his verbal commitment and sign with UK. Got to give huge props to Vince Marrow. Marrow is a strong recruiter, and this is when we really needed him to get the job done. Because of his upside and the importance of the big blue wall in our offense, signing Goodwin will be one of the most important recruiting developments in modern UK football history. Getting Goodwin would be the crowning achievement of Marrow's reign as UK's recruiting coordinator. Goodwin will play an important role on UK's OL right from the very beginning of his career.

Looks like at least nine, and maybe as many as twelve, of Marrow's primary recruits will sign with UK later today. Let that sink in.

Brad White is also due for a big day. White is UK's primary recruiter for Tyreese Fearbry, Tomiwa Durojaiye, and Quentel Jones, and the secondary recruiter for the Wade twins. Keeping White on board is a huge win for Mark Stoops. It is being rumored that White just turned down a $2 million salary offer from LSU to remain as UK's defensive coordinator. I assume Barnhart is giving Coach White a substantial raise.

Eric Wolford serves as UK's primary recruiter for Deone Walker and Jalen Farmer, either of whom could still end up in UK's class. Wolford has also played a secondary role in Goodwin's recruitment. As the big signing date has drawn nearer, there are some indications that Wolford might actually get Walker for us. After Steve Clinkscale's departure, if Wolford can close out Walker's recruitment, that would be remarkable. Signing both Goodwin and Walker would give UK a huge boost in the trenches and might move our class into the national top 10.

Stoops has put together one of the most effective coaching staffs in the SEC. Looks like Barnhart's faith in Stoops is paying off huge.

Sean sherer just flipped his pick from UK to MSU for Goodwin. I know that doesn't mean anything just noting it. I thought MSU was the major competition the whole time. Everyone said it's MSU/ Big Ten noway he goes there. All the while he takes multiple unofficials there and his final official. I'm not saying we lose him, still hoping but it is closer than most realize

These “insider” dudes feel the need to enter crystal balls so that they can say they got it right.

Ranked 5th in the SEC heading into this morning. Hope we can move up. Bring it home BIGDOG!
