Excellent news on QJones! Was not expecting him. Let's keep that momentum going

Read Bogle is trending to Michigan St. Anyone have any news? Kid would fill a major need. Doesn’t seem like the most reputable website but here’s the link

Let's consider the opportunity for playing time. My understanding is that Bogle has two years of remaining eligibility. In UK's version of the 3-4 defense, Bogle would probably be a Jack LB although he could also potentially play Sam LB. He has long arms and good quickness for his size, but he is too slender in build to play on UK's DL.

JJ Weaver and Luke Fulton are returning. Jordan Wright, who missed most of our 2021 season with an injury, is considering a return. Fulton is a transfer who has not yet broken into the rotation, but Weaver and Wright are starters. So returning depth is limited, and has been eroded by KD McDaniel's recent entry into the transfer portal. But UK has verbal commitments from hs seniors Keaton Wade and Tyreese Fearbry, highly regarded recruits who should find early playing time. And UK is trying to flip Mason Thomas from IA St.

I don't know what kind of an opportunity is available for Bogle at MI St, but MI St has had a very positive season. Of course, it isn't the SEC. But I can imagine that Bogle might feel crowded out at UK by Weaver, Wright, and the recruiting class unless Brad White is very specific in describing his future role. From Coach White's point of view, losing McDaniel and not knowing for sure yet if Wright will return, it would certainly be great to get Bogle for insurance rather than relying on true freshmen.

Think you may have flipped Fulton and Dingle. Fulton is playing inside if I’m not mistaken.

As mentioned earlier, Quentel Jones holds at least seven SEC offers. Until now, the DL has not been a strength of UK's 2022 recruiting class. So this helps. Coach White is still recruiting uncommitted DL Ahmad Moten, a teammate of Mason Thomas from Ft Lauderdale.

McDaniel shocked me some. Makes me wonder if that was Sumrall leaving.

I hope Jordan Wright sticks around. I always thought he was going to be big for us, and still think he may be. We need depth at LB and can use every great player we can find there. We will be rotating enough that they will all have their shot at great things.

Fulton is listed as an OLB on UK's roster, but he didn't actually play many LB snaps this year. I think his ideal position is on the inside, but he has a lot of competition there.

McDaniel is probably looking at Fearbry and Wade coming in. I am convinced McDaniel is a legitimate SEC player who would have played more next season. But he does not have an ideal frame for an edge player in the 3-4. I hate to see him transfer, but I get it. Fearbry and Wade are very good edge prospects, while Weaver and Wright are becoming excellent players. If Stoops can flip Mason Thomas or snag Khris Bogle, so much the better.

How we feeling about Goodwin??
Mark Stoops will make an in home visit to the Goodwin residence tomorrow. After that, Kiyaunte will leave for his weekend visit to East Lansing for his MI St official.

Kiyaunte has also taken official visits to TX A&M, AL, FL St, and MI.

In recent weeks, Kiyaunte has been visited by coaches from TX A&M, AL, MI, and FL St in addition to UK coaches.

FWIW, according to Derek Terry, Goodwin's recruitment is "open" at this point. He may or may not be right, but he is certainly giving an accurate portrayal of recent appearances.

We know three things for sure. We know that UK offered Goodwin when he was still in middle school, and has been recruiting him hard ever since. We know UK really needs Goodwin, because Darian Kinnard graduates and Dare Rosenthal is seriously considering leaving early for the NFL draft. And we know that Goodwin's recruiter Vince Marrow is one of the best in the business. What we do not know is whether Goodwin still considers himself a UK commit. I think it is safe to surmise he isn't sure, but I hope Coach Stoops has a great visit with Kiyaunte tomorrow.

BTW, Kinnard just won the Jacobs Blocking Award, making him the first UK lineman since Warren Bryant to win it. The Jacobs Blocking Award is given annually to the SEC's best offensive lineman. I imagine this will come up tomorrow when Stoops talks with Goodwin, who could very well become the next UK lineman to win this award.

That's how Goodwin is behaving. We still have some advantages and a very good shot to get him, but IMO you can basically forget about his earlier verbal. This is now an open recruitment, as Goodwin himself recently suggested.

Stoops has always said that “early commitment = team that is leading at that moment.” We lead at time of his verbal. Let’s see if we can reel in the big fish that everyone wants.

Not good that we're neither leading nor getting an official visit before signing day, but I know the staff will do what they can. He either wants to be here and have the same advantages Kinnard has had, or not. We have a great class of linemen with him, but also all around them. Sucks that he won't get to spend time around them the next week or so.

I wonder if he definitely signs in Dec or if there is a possibility of Feb

A player of his caliber wouldn’t have been grayshirted anyway.
Not saying he would have, someone else in say, a Bama class would have been asked to greyshirt. It used to happen fairly often, with the ESD, classes fill up and teams move on. Not saying it will definitely happen, that's why I said might. If Bama has 3-4 guys on their board at Tackle and land 2/3 on ESD, they'll move on.

Jordan Anthony;

Anthony was one of the fastest players in attendance at the event and showed off his wheels during practice whenever given the opportunity. He's still relatively slight of build (listed at 160 pounds) but with his speed all he needs is the smallest opening to make a big play. He will likely play a similar role to
Wandale Robinson at Kentucky and given his game-breaking ability he should find a role pretty quickly in Lexington.

From the Rivals home page talking about kids that help their stock in the Mississippi/Alabama Allstar game.

Coaches these days rarely discuss guys like Fulton who played so sparingly, perhaps only special teams? I assume he will get playing time eventually, otherwise he might have reentered the portal.

You only get one bite at the Apple in the transfer portal.
Meaning if he were to transfer again to D1 school, he would have to sit out. Transfers down a division are immediately eligible.

Didn’t know that, but a small school might be his next stop if he can’t make the adjustment, didn’t I read that lateral movement is his weakness? I’m rooting for him.
