Actually, you are assuming the investigation is over. We haven't seen anything regarding the conclusion of the investigation or anything of that nature. All we have is something from one line of evidence with little to no information otherwise. Till that happens, I'm hoping that the folks that made these calls are found, caught and punished harshly. If the authorities determine nothing happened, then good. At the present, it still seems to be an active investigation.
In all seriousness, the language I read on this subject is pretty much the same kind of statement when I was told by the local police department that they were "investigating" the theft of my racing bike. I think, as far as criminal action goes, that this is now a non-issue.
How about we make a bet? If any charges are filed I will impose a one-month self-ban. If no charges are filed in say, two months, you do the same?

If there actually was a legitimate death threat made then charges already would've been filed. There's no way that nut job would ever accept that bet and follow through with it when he loses lol.
I just don't see anyone arguing otherwise. All anyone seems to be saying is that the death threat reports were fallacious and should result in Higgins being held accountable for his recklessness the same way people who actually made those calls should have been.
I don't think anyone thinks calling and harassing a man personally is something a reasonable, well-adjusted human being should do. We're just saying it's not criminal.

No, the hypocrite is YOU!!! Nobody has accused anyone of anything. What we have done is say that if guilty, the callers should be punished to the FULLEST extent of the law, jail time, fines, whatever. That makes YOU the hypocrite. You have wailed at the top of your lungs that everyone should just drop it but there is an investigation in progress. You have made very effort to get folks to look the other way.

You could be right. In spite of all the jibberish to the contrary, I've never stated that anyone is, in fact, guilty. That said, I've not seen anything about the investigation being dropped and the FCC is notoriously slow. There could still be findings. I will say this and I've said it from the beginning, if anyone is found guilty, I want them punished as harshly as the law permits. This is not the NC fan base that is happy to look the other direction. If we have filth doing this sort of thing, they need to be singled out.

Well first of all, I am not being self righteous about anything. But I'm also not being a hypocrite and saying what those fans did was justified, because oh it wasn't this or that. Yes, the part about death threats was blown waaaay out of proportion, but the other things were just plain wrong. I feel bad for our fans who are put in a bad light when they don't deserve it. It's been many games now. And its been games decided for historical achievement. The fans have a place, I'm not embarrassed at all. I think having seen the evidence, it was handled beautifully and might just keep him away from UK games. The media hates us, some of you need to let that go. No matter what we do. I wish someone would let this clown know the FCC isn't investigating phone calls. The FBI isn't involved at all and the one police authority that was involved has ended their investigation with no prosecutions. In other words, no real crimes were committed. What we have we these two guys are their personal desire for retribution which is little different than the callers they are complaining about.
