Cal was just duped by his camp.Imagine the ire if Cal sits him all season and the kid goes to the league and ends up contending for ROY.
Be a dream come true for CalImagine the ire if Cal sits him all season and the kid goes to the league and ends up contending for ROY.
These are FACTS.
If he’s eligible for the draft and he’s a lottery pick he will not be back. Cal will basically not let him back. Hasn’t this always been the case?
So the only questions are is he for sure eligible for the draft? And does he play this year?
If he’s eligible and doesn’t play this season he will never play here.
And a complete nightmare for BBN.Be a dream come true for Cal
Let me ask you the same question, do you think Cal recruited Sharpe knowing 100% that he would never play for us?Cal was just duped by his camp.
Who wouldn’t? And if so his handlers can get hit by a bus for being a lying pack of snakes. If I was going to be top 5-6 in the draft I wouldn't come back so do not blame Sharpe for leaving. We would all take the money if were were in his situation. If I could make a 1 million (or more) a year in payroll/accounting straight out of HS I would have said F college I am out as well.
Weird ass question to ask to a guy who never even said that. But idk....maybe I wouldn't put that past cal.Let me ask you the same question, do you think Cal recruited Sharpe knowing 100% that he would never play for us?
That last sentence pretty much says all you need to know. Most truthful thing Cal has said in a long time
Coach Calipari, to this point, has remained adamant that Sharpe will not play for Kentucky in 2022.
“We haven’t talked about (him playing), the family hasn’t talked about it,” Calipari stated after Sharpe's first week on campus. “My guess would be, he’s fine. Let’s get him in shape and go from there. THERE WAS NEVER A PLAN TO PLAY HIM.”
Possible. If I was a business that shelled out say 100k and he never played a minute, I’d want someone to post me in the direction of a lawyer so I could sue the hell out of him and his camp.Is there a possibility that Sharpe had to sign something saying he would play the 22-23 season in order to receive NIL money?
So if there is any chance the #1 recruit will play for us, why would you not recruit him?Weird ass question to ask to a guy who never even said that. But maybe I wouldn't put that past cal.
If Cal thought the fans wanted to see Shaedon at the end of the UT game, this come Tuesday at home he’s going to really hear how much the fans what to see him play.Wow, this thread really went super sonic nuclear fast since I posted on it...no way I am reading through all this lol. I think all of us are just angry and frustrated...not right for Sharpe to come in and use UK for NIL money and then leave without playing (if it happens).
I have always said he is going to make the team better so play him Calipari...no reason not to. There was also talk that Sharpe wanted to go in the last few minutes of UT blowout and Cal declined to put him in...so that gives me some hope he wants to help the team win and to play. It needs to happen because he is gone after this season and anyone arguing otherwise is crazy.
Exactly.Possible. If I was a business that shelled out say 100k and he never played a minute, I’d want someone to post me in the direction of a lawyer so I could sue the hell out of him and his camp.
You got to understand what grom is trying to say. He is saying Cal sees himself as the NBA guy. So if he really is that, he would recruit Sharpe just to prove he can land these elite guys again and put them in the league. Now, that's not my viewpoint but that's what grom is saying. So if there is any chance the #1 recruit will play for us, why would you not recruit him?
Agents would be lined up to pay that 100k to have Sharpe sign with them.Possible. If I was a business that shelled out say 100k and he never played a minute, I’d want someone to post me in the direction of a lawyer so I could sue the hell out of him and his camp.
This will be blamed on Cal some how as well im guessing.
If Sharpe never plays here, Cal should receive 100% of the blame. Dangling the top player in front of the fan base's face, while the kid receives hundreds of thousands from an NIL deal, is not okay. Its an unfortunate situation but I dont see how Cal can get alot of blame here.
That’s nice for sharpe, it’s not nice for the businesses that trusted UK Basketball and paid Sharpe, even if they get their money back, once bitten twice shy, why would I ever give money to a ball player again?Agents would be lined up to pay that 100k to have Sharpe sign with them.
I don’t blame him a bit.If I was going to be top 5-6 in the draft I wouldn't come back so do not blame Sharpe for leaving. We would all take the money if were were in his situation. If I could make a 1 million (or more) a year in payroll/accounting straight out of HS I would have said F college I am out as well.
I don’t buy it. Not even cal is stupid enough to think he gets credit for sharpe going to the league, no one will. You got to understand what grom is trying to say. He is saying Cal sees himself as the NBA guy. So if he really is that, he would recruit Sharpe just to prove he can land these elite guys again and put them in the league. Now, that's not my viewpoint but that's what grom is saying.
Cal’s not stupid. he knew sharpe was a lottery pick and that he would probably be eligible for the ‘22 draft.Let me ask you the same question, do you think Cal recruited Sharpe knowing 100% that he would never play for us?
I wouldn't blame him for leaving, I would blame him for coming here under false pretenses. If I was going to be top 5-6 in the draft I wouldn't come back so do not blame Sharpe for leaving. We would all take the money if were were in his situation. If I could make a 1 million (or more) a year in payroll/accounting straight out of HS I would have said F college I am out as well.
Hypothetical. And purely Devils advocate. If that happens and we happen to win the title this year. Do you still fire him?If Sharpe never plays here, Cal should receive 100% of the blame. Dangling the top player in front of the fan base's face, while the kid receives hundreds of thousands from an NIL deal, is not okay.
If the kid plans on going pro this summer, he needs to play this Spring. If he turns pro without playing here, Cal should be let go. Immediately. That's inexcusable and a total misuse of his position.
So wait—some of our fans believe that Cal recruited him with the absolute knowledge that he’s not gonna play a full season here?
Not buying that for a second. Did Cal and all of the rest of us know it was possible? Of course.
So, as others have stated, what exactly was Cal supposed to do here? Not recruit the overall #1 recruit bc it was possible he may not play a full season and go to the draft? I’m genuinely curious what you guys wanted him to do. I didn’t read the full thread maybe I missed it.
The fact that some of these people believe that shit is hilarious.Cal was just duped by his camp.
Maybe Cal is missing the green room and is desperate to get back in there on draft day. He hasn't been overwhelming it with his bravado since Herro and those guys got drafted.I don’t buy it. Not even cal is stupid enough to think he gets credit for sharpe going to the league, no one will.
I’d blame Cal for the culture he has created here. This isn’t happening at Duke, Kansas, UNC, etc.I wouldn't blame him for leaving, I would blame him for coming here under false pretenses.
I'd say no.Hypothetical. And purely Devils advocate. If that happens and we happen to win the title this year. Do you still fire him?
I’ve answered that before. No.I'd say no.
A title buys him 5 to 8 more years.
But here's one right back at you: if he misses the Final Four and Sharpe turns pro, do you keep him on the job for as long as he desires, even if it's 7 or 8 more years?
If he did I’m sure theirs a clause saying he would pay back some or all of it once he signs his rookie deal.Is there a possibility that Sharpe had to sign something saying he would play the 22-23 season in order to receive NIL money?
Cal will count Sharpe for his earnings/draft pick just like he does for Kanter.Maybe Cal is missing the green room and is desperate to get back in there on draft day. He hasn't been overwhelming it with his bravado since Herro and those guys got drafted.
That's fair.I’ve answered that before. No.
He has until the end of next season to deliver a final four or a championship.
Yes, thanks for coming out, you don’t have to go home but you can’t stay here.Hypothetical. And purely Devils advocate. If that happens and we happen to win the title this year. Do you still fire him?
