Miss School MarmYou obviously can't take any joy in our basketball success because of our horrible football program. That's just sad.
I always hope for football to be better, but I know it's not realistic to expect us to ever have a top tier contender in that sport. We have that in basketball. Embrace it or just stay on Wildcat Lair.
If you don't like my post then move on and don't read them !!I'm usually not the grammar police, but every one of your posts has something wrong with it grammatically. Take a basic English course.
Back to the subject at hand. Just as I thought......you're one of the butt hurt football fans that can't stand the basketball program's success over the years.
Please again enlighten us to how Coach Cal 'can't coach' which is what you said. At least you agreed to what someone else said.
Like the UMass incident and Rick's Louisville incidents are even remotely similar. I couldn't care less if the banner stays or goes but comparing the 2 incidents is absurd even though I know what you are getting at.Ya know every team has their idiots. We're no exception. The guy brought us back from obscurity. So what he flipped off a fan big deal. It was probably nutz on the rail guy or some dude who just dropped 80 bones on beer. The dude is an fn retard. Keep his banner up. Sure he's brought a lot of it on himself. I don't see umass protesting cals banner after he made them a national force. Let it be
Honestly if your kid is truly "elite" it doesn't matter where he goes. If he's really good he could obviously take advantage of the KY effect......as long as he's playing "good enough" to get time with the "elite" players. There's also a good chance he'll get a lot of pine time and get recruited over. Just the way it is at UK. As Cal always says, it's not for everyone. Just look at how many people are now bashing Skal. A young kid with impressive skills that just isn't ready physically.
So many reasons and issues posted have nothing to do with teaching basketball but are your own personal preconceived opinions. Most of you wouldn't even consider Pitino even though he's a HOF coach with 2 NC rings. Honestly that's exactly what I expected. I have no problem with it.
Pitino made a greedy, prideful mistake when he left UK to go to Boston. That's according to Rick.
The football-only UK fan. smh
Is there a sadder, more pathetic creature in the sports universe?
Stingray, you're better than this man. This is a weak take. If your kid is truly elite, it DOES matter where he goes. It's especially important if he wants to get to the NBA asap. I understand your point, but the facts don't support your theory. Calipari has proven himself that he can get guys ready. The combination of Cal's ability and the stage that UK provides is the best in the world for a kid wanting to make it to the NBA. There is no denying it and, even if you try, it's clear the recruits know the truth.Honestly if your kid is truly "elite" it doesn't matter where he goes. Did you just post from the wrong account?
It happens with the best of coaches. Coach K has won titles only 5 times out of 35 years. I guess you question his coaching too?And did he bring home the one that counts with the best College in resent History ? No he didn't !
If he did, he's a genius...Heard that on TV the other day. Think maybe Seth Greenberg said it?
Don't kid yourself Zipp is here under a fake account acting like the UK fan he wants to be.
Those guys should be labeled "Done and Ones", since they graduated first, then returned for one year...
what's weird is the nice guy/great recruiter has averaged 26+ wins per year in his career even though he can't coach. go figure.
So Cal has been to 6 Final 4s now. Was he brain dead in 96 or just up against a better team? I agree he made mistakes in 2008 that allowed KU to win that title. 2011....brain dead or we just couldn't win because Terrence Jones went 0-5 from the foul line? 2012....I guess he wasn't brain dead. 2014....brain dead or just that the team ran out of miracles? 2015....I agree he should've done something....call a timeout or whatever....after that first shot clock violation.Cal is a great coach until the FF and then he goes brain dead most of the time.
How charming, ad hominem attacks.
The last recourse of the logically challenged. Here's a tip boyo, if you cant summon up enough intellectual fortitude to refute my points, then just walk back in your bubble and move on.
You'll save face in the long run.
Oh and for the record, I've been a UK fan my entire and will always respect what pitino did to bring this program back to glory, after the darkest moment(that seemed more like a lifetime) in UK history. The failed experiment that was Eddie Sutton nearly destroyed not just the program, but the hearts and minds of all basketball loving Kentuckians whose greatest source of pride(excluding the minority of UofL fans) was in the teams who put on those blue and white jerseys and fought like wildcats on the court every year, declaring with every made shot who the true king of college basketball was and always will be.
Rick pitino's behavior was abhorrent and unbecoming of anyone with even a modicum of common courtesy and you will not read one defensive argument from me about it. But I'm also going to abstain from joining the remonstrating lynch mob calling for the tar and feathers and figurative noose all because he's turned into a sore loser in his advanced age.
He's apart of our history whether you like it or not, and deluding yourself into believing he was not instrumental in helping to rebuild our program into it's current iteration of the past 20+ years is nothing more than an exercise in stupidity.
Take his Elfing banner down.
