Reeves Back! - source

It’s amazing how we’ve changed - I remember fans ripping Terrance Jones (a 15/9 NBA skilled player) and now we’re doing cartwheels over an Illinois-State transfer returning - glad he’s back l, but expectations have changed so much.
Well, there are 3 potential lottery picks on next year’s roster. Reeves is a complimentary piece adding much needed experience. Expectations haven’t really changed that much at all

I had seen that initially 8 players were gonna walk after Huggy met with them and told them of the resignation.
You might be right, but my friend is from West Virginia and has family members who are WVU administrators
Can’t wait to hear the explanation behind his return and all the drama.
It isn't like you are likely to hear the truth so why not just focus on the future? That will certainly bring as much drama as you can receive by looking backwards.

Well, he broke this news …and this was news that people were clamoring for for over a month …what can you say 🤷‍♂️ …he must have connections some way
Branham to me seems like he only makes picks or tweets something out if it has already or is happening at that moment

Nope. I believe Dilly/Reed/Thiero will all play better D and offer more than just standstill jump shooting. And I think they’ll show up against the best competition, consistently.

We have all debated it for months - but box scores don’t lie. The dude was mediocre or below average against the best competition far more times than he was good. And at times he was mediocre against bad teams too. AND HE PLAYS TERRIBLE DEFENSE AGAINST EVERY TEAM.
Give it a rest. We understand U don’t like him. There’s always one.

Again …he broke this news …I know the Lexington Herald and specifically Ben Roberts interview him and quote him a lot …I posted his comments earlier …gotta give credit where it’s due
I wasn’t calling you out in anyway, I was agreeing with you, I like Branham a lot he is solid

Do what you want to do and stop trying to police what others are doing.

Projecting wins and losses is something fans do, get over it.

Heck, there's literally an over/under wins/losses thread. I think you even posted in it. Guess it's okay when you do it aye?
I did not post that thread.

I haven't read every page of this .. I stopped around page 4 , but I'm really happy Reeves is back , adds valuable experience , depth .. its a good day .. but adding him to this roster of inexperience is no gigantic needle mover IMO. in 2023 Cal plus inexperience just doesnt equal a threat for # 9 IMO .. And thats all I want , put a team out there that has a chance for a FF , and that gives us a shot at a title ... I dont see that again this season.

You know, I don't know. Trends change, and while experience has been king in college basketball last few years... I do think there's room for a talented team that leans young to make a title run. But of course, you have to have SOME experience. That's why I do think Reeves coming back does move the needle for this team. I do think our sophomores will offer a lot as complimentary pieces to the younger talent on this team. The margin of error is slim of course, but I think this team could be one of the more fun, likable UK teams we've seen in awhile.

I don’t doubt that they are, just what I heard initially on Twitter when it broke Huggins was out. They didn’t say what players, could be the ones outside the big 3-4 who are getting the huge deals.

How many times did we hear 'He gone' or 'now that Reeves is gone.?
How many times? I’m So glad you were in the know! I and so many others that weren’t in the know as you so obviously were, wanted the kid to come back. No one thought he would.

Like 99.9% of people on this board, I am not 'in the know' so to speak. I was the OP last week about the incessant negativity on this board and about people without reliable sources stating opinions, nearly always negative ones, as facts. Those were my only points. No one knew what Reeves would do and it looks as though he simply took his time to work things out with Cal. I'm glad he's back, but if he starts any game 0-6, I'd get him out of there asap. He's very streaky and he's either hitting or he isn't. He certainly isn't in there for his defense, passing and rebounding.

I'd put Wagner Reeves and Edwards up against anyone's top 3.

Duke - Roach McCain Proctor
UNC - Cadeau Davis Ingram
Tennessee - Vescovi James Knecht
UConn - Newton Spencer Castle
MSU - Hoggard Walker Akins
KU - Harris McCullar Timberlake
Zona - Boswell Love Larsson
USC - Collier Ellis Johnson
Zags - Nembhard Smith Venters
Did you produce that off the top of your head?

The guy didn't want to be here, and Kentucky was his parachute. Now there could be issues with min promised or expected. IMO, this could lead to Wheeler 2.0. I like Reeves, but not sure this is worth the gamble with a young team, chemistry wise.
My sweet Mom used to say "you'd bitch if they hung you with a gold rope." That is what I take from everything you say. You all bitch that we don't have enough talent, then when we do, you bitch about players' expectations and whether they will be upset with playing time. Let's let kids compete for playing time, let the best play, and go win a championship instead of finding something to bitch about no matter what happens.

No one? Go check my posts I was part of the the Reeves is staying group.

At this point, this is great news. There were better options in portal a while ago, but that ship has sailed. Today this a great get for us and will help us next season.

LMAO, you should read your own post. You are crapping on people for being negative about Cal and the program, as if there is absolutely no reason to be negative, then, you turn around and shit all over Reeves, talking about how his defense is garbage and he should get pulled if he's not hitting threes.
So, in essence, it's okay for you to attack someone negatively, but nobody else can do it. Awesome.

That's a cool rant and all, but I wasn't bitching. I was simply voicing a legitimate concern that anyone who remembers Wheeler should be realistic enough acknowledge that that kinda thing could happen again. Especially on this particular team. If you think having a discussion on a message board is "bitching", you might not enjoy your time here.

You are confusing FUTURE NBA potential (which is what the NBA draft is) with CURRENT ability.
Right NOW, Reeves might be our best scorer, definitely top 3 (w/ Edwards & maybe Wagner). I think 2nd top scorer.

We have got Reeves back ( by default) and some on here expect everyone to just ignore and remain silent about the adsolute trainwreck our program has been since the end of the season. Cal has made one mister after another but Reeves is back so we should just ignore it.When we löose 5 games before conference play(and we will) Im sure they will say, "we are young"

EVERY shooter is streaky!
But yes, last year we needed him to score, this year we may have another option or two, so on an off night he can not force it. As a shooter you can "feel" nights you "have it" and nights you "don't have it", usually after just 2-3 shots.
