Reed and Dillingham

Both averaged 4.5 points per game this year. What do you expect their averages to be next year.

And please, don't come into a thread titled Reed and Dillingham just to say you don't care about either player.
I expect Rob to get more play time next year, but Reed I doubt it. The T-Wolves have some older guards who will probably retire or leave soon. The Rockets are stacked at guard and are a up and coming team. I think the odds he may be traded are fairly good soon for a draft exchange or something.

Dilly 7.25
Reed 6.75
Slight improvement for each.
Reed needs to shoot much better.

I think Sheppard makes a jump next year averaging around 10 off the bench, i don't know about Dillingham though probably more of the same from him.

I don't know what their averages will be, but it should be obvious to all that both should have stated another year in college. Neither player was close to being physically ready for the big leagues. If not for playing for former one-and-done university, they most likely would have stayed. Cal brainwashed his players into believing if they didn't leave after one season, they really weren't very good.

id absolutely love to have another event with Reed and ask if he regrets having 0 percent chance he would come back.

It depends on if either team loses some guys at their positions .

Houston is deep . I could see Rob getting more minutes if Conley retires .

Minnesota did Rob wrong drafting him and shelving him when they didn't need him. Not for sure what really happened up there and how Rob feels about it. I imagine he wants out and will find his spot after his rookie contract.
Agreed, I thought that they would bring his minutes up as the season progressed, but Minnesota has been enigmatic this season. Conley staying healthy roadblocked some of his minutes, but I still expected more.

I'm somewhat surprised that Houston didn't dangle Reed for a trade deadline addition like De'Aaron Fox (it worked out because of Fox's injury though). They have had a lot of guys step it up this season, and it's just a crowded backcourt in Houston now. They could still use Reed's shooting ability, but they might think he has higher trade value around the Draft instead of planning to keep him long-term.

I think a lot depends on what Houston's plans for VanVleet are.

Cal didn’t brainwash the NBA teams into drafting Sheppard and Dillingham in the lottery. It was a weak draft. Both of them would not have gone any higher if they had stayed.

I never said he did. Maybe, you should reread my post if you thought I suggested he brainwashed the NBA.

Young people make mistakes," Let him without sin cast the first stone". We all have made mistakes so don't hold it against these young men.

It wasn't a mistake. Dude made 45 million.

We just have a bunch of losers on here who pretending like they wouldn't take 45 million. I would leave my current job in a second if I could get a pay raise of like 5 times a year or whatever Reed got from NIL here to first year of NBA deal.

All the losers and liars on here saying otherwise are just that. Maybe the portion of our fanbase working dead end jobs can't relate but I can.

They might could be more ready to contribute on day 1 if they stayed longer, but the NBA is mostly fine with drafting on potential and betting that they’ll develop better with pro coaches, no practice limits, and no requirements to at least nominally go to school. Guaranteed top 10 picks don’t stay in college no matter who their coach is.

They definitely seem to care more for Cal than they do Uk. Still like them but it’s facts. In terms of the original question they are on teams with high usage players so may mean they need to make some big jumps to be better

They were the 3rd and the 8th pick...coming back would be insane

Should Cooper flagg come back bc he's skinny?

Reeds doing pretty decent now that he's getting some minutes with the Rockets resting guys for playoffs. He had a huge game the other night, like 21 points in a loss, and then today, his shot wasn't falling but he had 4 assists and 0 turnovers.

Theres just too much young talent on Houston. Reed isn't the only one, either. It's a team that has like 9 guys who could be starters on other teams in due time.

I'm a selfish prk.. Couldn't care less about what players do after leaving here.. Would have rather him come back and go end lotto this year.. 🤷🏻‍♂

Calipari brainwashed them, huh? You think that’s why they left after one year? Interesting. I would’ve thought it was someone offering millions of dollars that incentivized them to leave.

Reed was hurt part of this season, too. I'm a very casual follower of the NBA, but it seemed like he got in the doghouse for a few games, started getting double digit minutes and doing some nice things (Pts, Assists, steals, low TOs) and then got hurt and missed a few weeks. As another said, he had > 20 pts one of their last games in a win and, I think, had 7 assists last night (but no points).

Have no idea about Dillingham as I don't even look at the Wolves' scores, much less their box score.

They both did the right thing. Even if they flame out on their rookie contract, they'll have made millions. No guarantee that they'd been drafted as high this year or another year in college would have meant a longer NBA career.
