Reds

I can't take credit for this line, but on another board, when one poster suggested that Cruz be converted into a mop up role, the retort was that he should instead be converted to a AAA pitcher. I'm inclined to agree with the second option.
Do they still do the music and light show at GABP when Cruz comes in? If so, they need to knock that crap off.

This year's team has an obstinate tendency to try to get close to .500 and then to immediately do whatever is necessary to avoid actually getting there.
Absolutely, this is where you have to make a change in the dugout and get rid of the manager that won't enable the complacency this team has to settle for less. Barry Larkin's comments over the air were damning. He basically called out Bell without mentioning any names and was fair to mention players have a role in this as well. They lack a veteran player like Rolen was during the Baker years. It is evident Votto's presence as a leader in the clubhouse has shown this year. The Reds need a veteran manager too with experience for player development with this young team to mold them into winners and hate to see their potential continue to get wasted by a clueless manager like David Bell. It is an organization that fires Dusty Baker for 3 seasons winning 90+ games out of 4 years and keep Bell around with his subpar record.

I am fed up of seeing players like Will Benson and Ty France on this roster while Rece Hinds is wasting in Louisville. FO needs to get their heads out of their ass and shake things up. Fraley has been healthy most of the year, batting 8th or riding the pine most games. It is a joke how he is mishandled and reports out they are none to pleased with Bell about it. Rather see Hinds, Friedl & Fraley in the outfield, Steer 1B, India 2B, EDLC SS and Espinal is hitting above .300 in his last 30 games. Since Bell is dick hard about playing the LH/RH splits to a fault, let him split time at DH with Marte and Candelario as a switch hitter until McLain comes up in September if he plays this year.

This was earlier in the season from his Dad.

Like I said, Candelario signing is a bust. Even writers saying it and just my opinion this was an awful contract signing.

Kansas City lost 106 games last year, on Pace to win 86 this year. That would be an all-time record Improvement for a team that lost 100 games the prior season. And Bobby Witt Jr is freaking good.

10-0 in the 3rd. What a freaking joke!! Lets keep Lowder in Chattanooga a little bit longer and don't pitch Burns until 2025 because the pitching staff is so damn good as is with Greene hurt now too..
That would make too much sense. Don't want to get ahead whatsoever. I would argue it is time to call up Lowder from AA like the Reds did with Castillo, but at this point the Reds would just be trying to salvage a subpar season anyways in which key pieces hurt all year have had an impact all season. I don't know how long Greene is out with an elbow soreness issue, hopefully nothing serious. If it is, the season is done without him. Plain and simple!!

This is completely a leadership and culture problem. Too many talented players have come and gone during the Castellini Era of Reds baseball with and can't even advance with 2 measly wins in 4 postseason trips out of 19 seasons. Including one of the franchise's greatest players ever in Joey Votto. Absolutely nothing to show for. The Baker Era in Cincinnati is the closest this team has been to being a legitimate contender and he is fired for having this team in a better position to win than Bell has them in. A piss poor ownership group that is not committed to winning and shit rolls downhill to the dugout with the incompetence on the coaching staff to the performance on the field. There is no killer instinct or fight in this team to win. Marte needs to be on the first bus back to Louisville tomorrow morning.

It's all about money. They don't want him to asking for too much too soon, they need the trade bait for mediocre has-beens.

Krall said Hunter Greene's status is the best case scenario for what they know now. Will play it safe and get a 2nd opinion. Bad timing for the Reds but if all he misses is a couple starts that will be a relief.

The change from Wed to now is depressing. Now ready to stick a fork in it.
Nothing has changed. This has been the Reds MO all season to come out and shit the bed immediately after doing something such as sweeping a team like the Yankees, Dodgers or Cardinals. They have done it all year long. Typical Reds Baseball. That is why my expectations with this group are tempered.

Wouldn't be surprised if word dropped that Lodolo is experiencing some type of injury. Guy has been bombed the past few starts.
I was going to say it awhile back and glad someone else has noticed Lodolo hasn't been the same pitcher since he first returned off the IL. Reds starting rotation is going to limp all the way to the finish and the bullpen will be gassed with this opening strategy using a reliever to make it a bullpen game for the duration of Greene's injury at least.

I know he isn't much more than a singles hitter but like the Amed Rosario move this late in the season. Need to send Marte to Louisville and light a fire under Candelario's ass. Rosario has position versatility in the outfield too.

Bell will misuse him just like Fraley and end up leaving for another team when they are a free agent to get real playing time. Another pawn for him to play the likes of Benson, Fairchild and Marte over Rosario. If the Reds had anyone with sense in the FO, they would get rid of the dead weight and force Bell to play the better players and get rid of the scrubs. Call up Rece Hinds. He could do what the rest of this team has done this weekend, which is absolutely nothing. Just wait until Martini comes back to save their season.

I’m sure he’s a very good guy, but Fairchild should be working as a banker.

The way KC has been mashing this series it’s almost as if they know the pitch that’s coming.
I have noticed that when Royals batters face Reds pitchers like Abbott (today's starter) who generally throw first pitch strikes (heavy on the fast ball) they tend to swing first pitch knowing what is probably coming. But as soon as he (Abbott) is taken out and Cruz comes in, they stop attacking the first pitch knowing Cruz struggles a lot. That is called disciplined hitting which suggest good managing.
